"Women supporting Women"
I'd just like to say how much I'd really like this show to do a U-TURN around and do what it started out doing. It wasn't about drama queens and so much of what is going on now. It was a core belief that women can help women to recover after making mistakes in their life.
During loser lisa's party, when the women were up stairs, all laying around, one messing with another's hair, just being relaxed and sharing - it hit me. That was why I orignially started watching this show. I adored seeing human beings connecting and pulling each other up.
I loved it when Jodi helped Christie the other day and got her to revisit her contract board - they were supporting and helping each other! When all the women helped Kim with the role playing exercise - that closeness is what she so dearly desires!

I am in my mid 30's and watched Real World for a long time too...until it took 'the turn'...to being nothing but drunk fights and porn fests. That show, also by the creators of Starting Over, use to be REAL - about young people all learning about different races, life and connecting. I hope to God they don't do the same thing to SO that they did to that show.

How do you all feel? I mean, I like to see the interactions with the houseguests - if they are authentic -- stressed, frustrated, fights...BUT NOT these LISA antics. Come on.

Thanks for listening...

ChristinaJB, I totally agree. I did not start watching this show till early in the 2nd season, and I was drawn to it from the first episode I watched. I really felt that the HG's were there for themselves and to support each other; the show had many more assignments shown and a lot less "conflamma". I was able to get several insights into myself, usually something IV would say, and it would be an epiphany for me, an "oh, yeah" moment if you will. I started this season watching eagerly, but compared to last season, it has really been ho-hum, another soap opera (and I don't waste time watching those). I wonder if there will be a Season 4, and if there is, hopefully the producers read these boards and will go back to the original format of the show. We shall see!

Exactly - those "AH-HA!" moments were so powerful! I would save them on our DVR and replay them. I haven't seen a single one this year. So sad. Lisa 1 was there totally for the purpose of being on TV, since she doesn't have a flippin' thing to do in life. I believe the other women seem to have needed the help.
I wish they wouldn't lose sight of what made this show successful...but they have.

Now that the overly dramatic, energy-sucking crybabies are out of the house I'm really eager to watch tha ladies get down to the reason the show exists.

AlliSCAM, GagMeLisa, Christina and to an extent the rest of the originals really threw a wrench into the the dynamic of the house. The place started out as a gossipy, unsupportive place. Their departure makes for a much friendlier, less threatening place to live and grow.

I'm starting to feel that we're getting our house back. Starting Over is starting over!
