Hi MakeItStop!First, I do believe you. I don't see the point of a "regular" doing this as an impersonation. And since I won't feel foolish if in fact I am wrong, I am perfectly happy to accept you as new.
It's a tough balance to achieve - regulars say that new posters should read a lot first and then come in with some background understanding. But if they do that, as you obviously have, they get accused of knowing TOO much and therefore must be a regular in disguise.
It seems that many frequent posters can't accept the concept that someone could be reading along regularly enough to be so knowledgeable about our activities and personalities, yet not post for a long long time; and then, when they do post, they do so with ease and humor right off. I can understand this attitude, but I am willing to accept that there are a lot of different people in the world, who don't all do things exactly the way I do. (!!!!) We really have no idea how many folks are out there, reading along with our antics for entertainment or whatever! We get caught up in our little community of familiar posters, but we are not as alone as we think we are. You can either be creeped out about that, or get a kick out of it.
So, glad you decided to start posting, MIS, and as a little welcome gift, here's how to curse in your post:
First, you can type "ass, damn, crap" with no edit problem. For the others, insert a little HTML code in the middle of the word. For example, if I just type "#####", I get the #s. But if I type sh{b}{/b}it, it works. (use the straight brackets instead of the curvy ones, and it will work. Like this: shit.
Happy posting, and Happy Friday the 13th!!
