PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."
Well thought out and articulated beautifully...Makes sense to me.
Actually, you've made some excellent points that warrant Allison's attention, at the very least. Her supporters (and yes, I was one of those people cheering her on during season 2) felt OK about her coming back for season 3 (you folks with sharper discernment skills can feel free to chime in here with an "I told you so"; I can take it and I deserve it...LOL). Last year, I would not have believed that this woman's behavior would eventually provoke me to leave a "negative" message on her message board (I wasn't overtly nasty and I didn't call her any names, but it seems like the messages were divided into two categories....).
Actually, with the new house and the new faces, Allison brought a feeling of SO familiarity that made it a little easier to get into the show at first. But you're right Mystique, what I was expecting to see what an honest Allison...not the haughty, "House Guest Emeritus" role she assumed. Isn't it ironic that she claims to place such a premium on authenticity? And she seems to truly believe it
The credentials? You're right. They are part of a course laid out for her. Iyanla, for whatever reason, apparently has some degree of personal affection for Allison (no, I don't think it goes beyong a mentoring relationship), and she is calling in some favors for her. But in the end, Iyanla can only carve out a position for Iyanla...Allison's "career", as she calls it, will stand or fall based on her own merits.
