I totally agree that having squads go against each other instead of against a Shadow Squad would be a lot more fun to watch. I can think of several scenarios where this would work very well.I thought the final show was really lame. Except for that three-on-three mission, it svcked pretty bad:
1) If they'd drawn swords that had 3 red tips to randomly split the squads, fine. But no, they did it to have team captains, to choose teams like little boys at recess. I suspect MB wanted to make something of the last guy being chosen for the conflict and drama, but it didn't work out very well. Also, this method works for baseball teams at recess with 9 on 9, but not for 3 on 3.
2) I really got tired of all the stupid flashbacks to the losers that were already gone, and my summary will reflect this disgust.
3) The interaction between teams in the off-time was silly, what with Corwin (I think) raiding the Blue's tents all the time.
4) The three-on-three mission was good, but the editing was a bit disjointed. You couldn't tell where everyone was on the map. However, it was ONLY appropriate to have to pop smoke at a toilet seat in the yard!
5) The competitions' prizes, not having extra weight on your back, wasn't very exciting, especially as we've seen it all before. Now combining the obstacle course with the running and shooting course that the final 3 took, that would've been something!
6) After all that, for one guy to be eliminated in a simple running/shooting contest was lame, then for the final two to have a paintball contest was REALLY lame.
I did like the various little symbol icons, the red (and yellow) Bravo symbols, then the individual names instead of the "Bravo" above them. That was a nice touch.
