No im afraid i didnt notice any scar, i was too busy looking at the camera they had following them. I remember them negotiating money with the taxi driver and kept saying "Quickly" I was rather annoyed but let them have it as they seemed in a rush. Where are the racers at the moment then? Where are they off to next?

by the way the date on the photo is 30/11/04 - i dont know whether that helps anyone...and it shows the man (although he has his back to my camera) negotiating with the cab driver how much to pay, the woman and cameraman were already in the taxi at this point... i have this photo scanned in, anyone know how to get it on here?

I just thought about this after this was posted, which I believe confirms that they go to London. On another thread (I can't find it now!) someone asked when are they going to London, now that they are heading to Africa directly from S. America. So how about this? Maybe they never cross the Pacific. Maybe they go from South Africa/Botswana, to India, then to Turkey, London, Jamaica, Montreal, then NYC? Wasn't it mentioned on another thread that there was a spoiler saying that they went from Africa directly to India? If they do, I can't believe that they would backtrack all the way to England, and then continue going east around the world.If they did it that way, it sure would be different. But I think it would take away from the race. But if not, then this is just a waste of time to conjecture. Happy Spring Break everyone!!

Aside from the if or when TAR goes to England. Which I have no idea about. It is quite clear from the photo that the clothing has been superimposed over someone else's body. If you don't believe me then just match the tone of "Meredith's black" versus the 2 folks with black jackets. Or the black interior of the car. Or the black of some of the other cars. It just don't match up.
Also upon closer inspection of "meredith" there are obvious missed black pixels along both inner arms which would not be present in a normal photo. He also has 2 huge black marks that go up his neck. Probably to cover the Jacket that the real person was wearing.
and finally the blue tones of the Time Date end up as so ...
 You'll have to do something else to prove this is a spoiler versus being a hoax.

I apoligize for my bad scanner, which has messed this photo up, by i dont see why i would go through the effort of "superimposing " a body onto a picture. I saw what i saw, decoy or no decoy. Is there any point to me lieing, honstly, i have tried to get a better quality scan but to no avail. If you dont believe me, then ignore this thread, but hopefully in the next few weeks of your show you will realise i was telling the truth.

The "gutsy grannies" flew through New York & London to get to JB, S. Africa. I think over half teams did go to London v. Paris and Madrid as well before hitting S. Af. in season #2. I don't know about the photo, what's the point of it being fake? I do find it totally feasable that they have a day in London, UK and by the timeline it looks like the 30th would be about right. (If you have to go there, you may as well do something?) And then go to Africa in second part of 2 hour show. Why Not? Again I base this on the fact that in season 2, many or maybe even all, racers went through London from Brazil(?) to get to Jo'Berg, SAf. So if it's fake spoils fine, but I think it's reasonable to go to UK before South Africa instead of after. .02

If you watch the insider video from CBS with Meredith/Gretchen entitled "You Do It". It is showing M/G on their way to the horse riding roadblock. There is a shot of Meredith from the back. In the video he is wearing the same short sleeve shirt with the string down his back (from his eyeglasses or sunglasses) and wearing dark slacks. Looks just like Meredith from the back in the London photo. Check it out?

Thanks banzai. That cinches it for me. The London picture is a hoax. If you look carefully at the picture, you can even see the same sliver of leaf on the left side of Meredith's pants as in the original Episode 4 picture.

Picture authenticity aside, London has about 5 airports, and although Heathrow does the most international traffic, it could be that some teams find out that a flight leaving from another airport might get them to Africa faster. It's feasible that they would go from Buenos Airies to Africa through London, so maybe they land at Heathrow, get a cab to another airport, and fly out of there, without actually spending any time doing a task in London. Although why they would have an envelope for a clue in their hand is beyond me.Oh, and I think the picture's a fake. But aside from that, it is possible, timeline-wise.

I dont know - i dont follow the show - it appears that they are in south america where it is hot, getting a plane from there he wouldnt be wearing a coat - on his way out - considering its a race - he was in a rush to get into a taxi (and stealing mine by the way) that i dont think he had time to get into a coat.

OK HERE WE GO;Everyone on this forum seems to believe that those zoomed in photos are accurate.
On my photo in my hand (the one that was printed a a photo shop, there is no green around meredith at all (UNLIKE all of your posts say there is) so in that case between me scanning the photo in (on my poor scanner as i did say in a prevous post), making it smaller in size, uploading it to this site and then someone else zooming in, it must have lost some of its original quality or lost some of its colours.
I will try to over the next few days, go round to my brothers who has a quality scanner to give you the photo on here in its original size, quality and format, it will be quite a big file, but maaybe you can download it etc...I SAY AGAIN I HAVE NOT FAKED THIS PHOTO. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE AMAZING RACE BEFORE, SO WHY WOULD I GO THROUGH THIS MUCH EFFORT TO SHOW AVID FANS OF THE SHOW A PICTURE? IF I WAS STUPID ENOUGH TO FAKE A PICTURE, I WOULD HAVE MADE IT LOOK BETTER THAN THE UNCLEAR PICTURE I SHOWED YOU. THE FACT THAT IT IS UNCLEAR MUST SURELOY SHOW YOU THAT IT HASNT BEEN ENHANCED.
If i were to fake a picture why didnt i put there faces in while im at it? Because i didnt have time at the airport to take a clear shot - they were moving, i wasnt standing still, the picture is unclear.
Make your minds up, if you dont believe me, you will do by the end of the show when you see that they did come to london, and they did steal my cab!!!!

There is no green stain on the original picture though, so that isnt the reason a green mark is there. As i said in my post just previoys to this The green has made its way on there between the photo being scanned in all the way to people zooming on a resized pic.

OK, my 1/50 of a dollar's worth (or should I say my 2p worth?):First, the photo evidence, IMHO is pretty stong in favor of fakery. Body position, color discrepancies (fog/crystal clear) and 'green stuff' really make me wonder.
Second, no sight of camera crew in the admanmcd photo. Though not conclusive, the usual practice is for the teams to get in cabs first. You also stated that 'Meredith' was negotiating the price of the cab ride. His body position is obviously walking, not standing and talking. Also, you said that you overheard the conversation between 'Meredith' and the taxi driver, while the photo is taken from some distance.
Third, timeline questions. Yes, we've seen teams go from South America to South Africa via London before -- but only as a lay-over or transfer point. I seriously doubt that teams would find a 'better flight' at another London airport, as proposed by another poster.
Fourth, and last -- (which I don't think anyone else has brought up) you originally stated that "Hi i dont know alot about this amazing race as viewers in the UK dont get the show here", but you recognized the show, the route markers, and the premise right off. We'll see next week. But my 50 Jims are on this being a hoax. The reason -- crips, look at how many posts this has generated?

AS was stated before, he is supposedly "negotiating" a price yet he is WALKING yet look at the heighth proportions and visual line of the two people in question ("Merideth" and taxi driver). The heighth proportion between the two men is all wrong and the taxi driver is looking down which , even though this is a stretch, would indicate that he is NOT talking to Merideth. Also, where are the backpacks? If Merideth has just put them in the trunk he is considered a VERY TALL man -- my legs don't stop THAT far above the top of the trunk. Also, the driver has to unlock the trunk and stands THERE to negotiate price -- not open and then move around to the door and wait for the person to come to him to negotiate.
I showed this to my children and when they saw the FIRST photo they knew it wasn't real.
I truely believe this is a hoax but it has created some very lively debate and it is fun reading everyone's reasons why they think it is a hoax.

don't bother rescanning at a better resolution (ie: stall tactic to clean up the photo in photoshop).....You say you have the photo in your hand, physically. Here's what you do to convince us. Take your camera that you used to take the pic in the first place, hold up the photo next to your face ( or a plant or your monitor or anything for that matter) and take a picture of your photo including the other objects. No cropping, no nothing. It will either confirm you have an actual undoctored photo, or expose this as a failed attempt at a spoiler. It's a simple task and if you're *this* adament about proving you're legit, then take 10 minutes and do it! There's no reason not to if the photo is indeed real Choice is yours my friend!

How could it take 15 minutes - i have a normal camera - NOT a digital one, and the photo processing places will be closed after Easter. It would be a good way to prove it, but im seeing my brother over Easter - which is ehy i suggested the better scan. If i was to process the photos at a shop, id have to wait until tuesday evening for them to be developed.

Ok i admit it was a hoax, and within hours I realised it was a bad one. I am going to tell you the truth in the next few sentences -1. I really was at Heathrow that morning - and that picture was taken that morning. My taxi was stolen. That is where my story was "adapted" to hoax you guys (not that i did a very good job) 2. Me and my brother - who have avidly followed the race and these forums (we watch it via legal downloading on the net) since the first series which was shown in the UK. 3. He bet me (£20) (about $35-$40) that i could never get 50 responses on a single thread that made up some "sighting" of an amazing race contestant. (With a picture that i had to make) I was kind of hoping i was good enough with my amateur photoshop skills to fool the majority of you. God i was wrong. I admire those of you who tried to back me up - even though when i looked at the picture when i posted it i realised the coloring of Meredith was all wrong. I took that picture of meredith from the exact CBS.com insider video that some eagle eye found not a day later. I was so convinced no one would ever find that. Well done to he who found that exact shot! Anyway I won the bet and thanks, at least i livened up the forums for a few days! By the way i hope they do come to London - And i reckon that Ray and Deana will definatly be eliminated next. THANKS FOR ALL THE RESPONSES - I HOPE YOU CAN ACCEPT ME ON THESE FORUMS - A LITTLE BIT OF A CONTROVERSIAL INTRODUCTION I KNOW, BUT HEY - A REMEMBERABLE START TO MY POSTINGS!

Wow, admanmcd (sorry if that's not right...) I totally believe you. I don't understand why even the most avid Amazing Race fan would take the time to post a fake pic, it has never happened in the past to my knowledge. I think you were just in the right place, at the right time, and I appreciate you for sharing your picture with all of us. This confirms to me that Meredith and Gretchen don't have to quit after her fall in the cave. Thank goodness!!! Once again, thank you so much for your time and diligence in posting this picture!
