To fill you in...Yes, the show had its blahs... Diana--- 1st song (Tamyra's song)--- At first, I figured that this song was written for her and was suprised at how she was flat a few times. Kinda boring. 2nd song (can't remember)--- Her best of the night...and I do agree that she came out swinging tonight (paraphrased words of Randy Jackson) 3rd song (Don't Cry Outloud)--- OUCH!!! Talk about freaking out, singing the middle flat, and holding out the last note like it was a freakin' contest to see who can hold notes the longest. Also, she re-sang a song, and notice that very few posters commented on that...plus, she butchered it. Fantasia--- 1st song (???)--- I did get goosebumps, but I agree with Simon that most of America wouldn't "get it." It was emotional, but the arrangement blew goats. A little too much wailing and filling-in...instead of singing a song. 2nd song (Summertime)--- I enjoy looking back at some of the posters complaining about her singing this song again. She sang her "re-sing" much better than Diana. I agree with Simon that she's probably one of the best contestants. About the same as the previous performance(s) of this song. 3rd song (Tamyra's song)--- So...this song wasn't written for a "Diana" voice. It was amazing, spiritual, and showed how great of a performer/singer Fantasia is. Very gospelesque. So...yes, I have not liked Diana throughout the competition. However, I feel that I've posted an accurate mini-re-crap of the show. Oh...and Paula and Randy gave Fantasia the only standing ovation from the judges on the last song. And Simon said told Fantasia that the last song was her "acceptance "

Agree.  The only thing worse than last nights AI finale, was last nights 24 finale. Boring. I'm no muciscal expert, but I noticed what I thought was a technical problem with Diana's last song. It sounded like the mike wasn't working properly. It was most noticable at the beginning of the song. I didn't think Tamyra's song was that bad. I can remember thinking Kelly Clarkson's, A Moment Like This, was horrible at the time, but I'll admit it's grown on me since then. I did think Diana's version was better than Fantasia's, but I think the arrangement actually favored Fantasia. Ruben and Clay were both outstanding in the finale; either could have won. Heck, third place Kim Locke would leave the current finalists in the dust.

Former CBSer---"A judge should not point out the strongness of another contestant as it appears he is biased" HUH??? A judge should point out who sang and performed better. Unfortunately, for many viewers, Diana messed up...big time. Fantasia messed up...small time. In the end, I do believe that Fantasia will win...and yes...judges are there to judge, be harsh, etc. By reading this message board, you'd get the idea that these posters are the people who want to ban Honor Rolls in Public School Districts because they make the dumb kids feel bad. If someone's in a competition and they don't do so well, it needs to be pointed out and the judges critiqued both Fantasia and Diana throughout the evening. Seriously, it's a competition...and the judges were there to judge...I didn't see joyous tears from anyone in the audience when Diana sang. The emotiveness (?) of Fantasia was amazing in the last song.

Tonight's best hair-don't = Ryan Seaclown (he looked like he fell asleep against the mirror while kissing himself). Times I felt as though I just smelled the worst fart in the entire universe (and it wasn't me) = 6, (and it WAS me = 1). Length of time AI3 was on the TV before the mute button was pressed = 5 minutes. Times I sat in stunned disbelief at what I was seeing/hearing and it wasn't because of Paula Abdul = 2 (Fantasia's first number and Paul Anka). The award for worst song co-written by a former contestant = Tamara Gray. Times I wish I were a bird so I could fly over and crap all over Paula's head = 6. Times I wish I had a Star Trek translator device so I could understand Randy = 4. Number of people that will buy the I Believe single and not eventually use it for a coaster or rear-view mirror ornament = 5. Most hated words in the English language = Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Words said by the most people around the world at one time = Who the **** is Paul Anka? Summary: Degarmo: She needs more experience and lessons but she'll do fine. There is definitely talent there. Fantasia: Everyone makes mistakes (and boy did she make one tonight) and I thought her 2nd number was good but somehow not quite as good as the first time I heard it. I really don't like the single they've chosen so the 3rd number was like a whatever moment for me but I knew that if anyone could do it justice it would be Fantasia. Winner should be: Isn't it obvious?
