"Murray-Bunim wrote the rules....now ignore them"
It was sad to know that Mary Bunim passed away at 57. That is way too young. Mary and her partner, Murray are the "parents" of reality tv. Real World was a stroke of genuis, but they have strayed, in my opinion, from what made them great pioneers. The appeal of Real World was watching young people thrown together interact as they make their way in a strange city.....with strangers. The same with the initial road rules....who has not gone a road trip not knowing where and how it was going to work out....priceless stuff. However, the franchises were reduced to shallow manipulation as each contestant know fills a role, and the satisfaction of watching is gone. Everything is handed to them, and they of course manage to blow it in a variety of ways that usually involve alcohol, and sloth. What remains is to see how stupid and moronic the jerks can behave as they ignore a great opportunity to live and/or travel, in favor of booze, hook ups, and a lazy ethic. The Simple Life was another gross manipulation. The producers were the real villians of that piece of trash....which says a lot when they tried to make stars out of two spoiled and moronic bi**hes. I am sorry that Mary passed, but for this fan of reality tv I am also sorry that these pioneers strayed from what made them great.

With all respect due MB, the Loud Family and the 1970s series "An American Family" were "born" long before MTV was a twinkle in the astronaut's eye.
