"Phony shots and product placement"
In tonight's episode, there is a shot labeled "Delhi Airport" which prominent shows an American Airlines plane parked at a gate. But American Airlines, does not, nor have they ever, flown to India. This shot was probably faked/digitally edited just for product placement purposes or something.

To me, this is really offensive... they pretend that this is "reality" TV, but then they manufacture phony shots for advertising purposes. Give me a break.

Um. While much of "reality" tv is no where near real a quick google check indicates that American Airlines as well as several other US carriers do fly to India http://www.destinationindia.com/editorial/airlines/airlinesind.htm

I don't know if they fly into that airport, but are you sure they don't fly to India?

They may have a ticket office in India, but they don't fly there. (See https://www.aa.com/content/aboutUs/whereWeFly/maps/asia_aa.jhtml ) They include Bombay on their system map because they have a "code-share partner" (e.g. another airline) that flies there, but trust me -- they don't, nor have they ever.

If a 'partner' airline flies there, they may have used an American Airlines plane. I once flew on Air Canada and the plane was a Jetsgo plane. These two airlines are not even partners, but were competitors, although Jetsgo is now under bankruptcy protection. I don't know what happened for Air Canada to be using a Jetsgo plane... perhaps some airlines will lend or lease planes if another gets caught without one, or perhaps one purchased or leased a plane that had previously been flown by the other, and the logo had not yet been changed. Or... perhaps American Airlines used to fly there and they purchased some footage of the airport to use. As long as the airport was indeed the correct one, I see nothing wrong with what they have done.
