Jeffrey's outfit was great--it totally suited him (and his ego), but he deserved to win.I felt so bad for Kayne! To an outsider, it did look like an Elvis costume, but he was so proud of it. (then so ashamed...like a little boy) Michael's outfit was okay, but the Hamptons is not "international" now, is it? What happened to Laura? One day she says she just discovered she was pregnant, and the next day "FOOM"! She was out there! And did you see the previews for next week? She looks 7 months along... Vincent HAS gotten very safe, but wasn't he exempt this week? He could have added some piping on his v-neck and matching piping on his pants and it would have been very good, I think. To me there's nothing better than sweats and a couple layers on top for traveling. There's no way I would wear heels in an airport!

I love Kayne and felt soooooo bad for him, yeah his design was just like Jeff said Liberace/Vegas, but Kayne does know how to make clothes, however he is gay (I'm pretty sure) and it fully came across in the outfit he did for himself, but I still LOVE Kayne and Jeff, yes I said it, I LOVE JEFFREY, he is such a cocky bastard, but some of the stuff he says is too funny, like the god must be drunk comment, OMG, LMAO!!!! I think he fully deserved the win last night and I am sooooo glad that the judges saw the light =). When they said jet setter, I thought more along the lines of what Jeffrey did design, I always think RockStar in that sort of situation, I guess Jeff does too. WAY TO GO JEFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Angela must copyright her word, Fleurchon , before ALL designers, especially that pesky Muccia Prada, begins stealing it for her own measly designs.

LAST EDITED ON 08-31-06 AT 02:21 PM (EST)I thought that the instructions for this assignment must not have been very clear because obviously Heidi thought they were supposed to make a travel outfit and some of the designers thought they could make just anything a jet-setter would wear, like a party dress. That seems unfair to me; the instructions ought to be clear. It also seemed unfair to me that Uli was slammed for making a dress that would only work someplace tropical, albeit international, but Michael's outfit was specific to the Hamptons and no one said anything about wearing it in Rome, Paris, Tokyo, etc, where it clearly would not have worked. It seems they were judged by different standards. At least Uli actually lives someplace her dress would have worked. However, the judging did succeed in zeroing in on the two most hideous outfits. As Laura said a few weeks ago, taste is a real problem for both Kayne and Angela. I would have liked to see them both go, but Angela's outfit was absolutely the antithesis of international sophistication. I think she is a pig's ear and is going to stay one.

I think she is a pig's ear and is going to stay one.Don't pussyfoot around, how do you really feel? J/K Angela admitted she had no idea what a jetsetter might wear, either for traveling from one exotic place to another, or while at said exotic place. And the dang rosettes - enough already. Uli's dress disappointed me. It was too patchwork for my taste. I normally like her designs, and this was definitely Uli, but just too much so. I liked Michael's outfit the most, but I'm heavily biased to like almost anything he puts together. I like that he also listens to Tim's critiques and can modify his original idea if he chooses to accept the advice given. Unlike Kayne, who has a vision and seems unable to see beyond it. Jeffrey annoys me no end, but I did think his outfit was well done, except the bling bling in the crotch area. However, he was portraying a rock star, so that's probably appropriate. I did like his little comment on the plane about how much he'll miss Tim popping in and out to offer a few words of advice, once the show is over. Sig pic by JSlice

14. "Angela" |
OK, here's how I really feel ... Angela is a complicated character. She is one of those DAWs who seems to really irritate some people (fellow DAWs and viewers) but didn't bug me too much, just occaisionally. I hated most of her designs. I felt bad that Jeffrey bullied her, but she engaged him which made it worse. Same with her mom. Her comments about Jeff to the judges, OTOH, seemed simply the truth, so I respect that. I think that some of the designers who do well some of the time and really bomb most of the time are in over their heads in PR. They can't handle the pace and pressure of the competition. Maybe they have some talent, but not enough to really make it. Angela falls into this category and I think Kayne and Vincent do, too. When she said she had no clue about jetsetters, she sounded like a hopeless hick to me and that outfit sealed the deal. She doesn't get it and isn't likely to ever get it. Time to go.

> >When she said she had no >clue about jetsetters, she sounded >like a hopeless hick to >me and that outfit sealed >the deal. She doesn't >get it and isn't likely >to ever get it. Time >to go. Exactly. I mean, the girl wants to be a fashion designer, and she has no idea what fashionable people wear?!? Has she never read a fashion magazine? US Weekly? Seen a TV show with rich & famous people in it? It doesn't take a genius to know that linen is the last thing a jet-setter would pack (or wear). Regardless, that outfit of hers looked like something from Urban Outfitters, NOT something a jet setter would be caught dead in.

Angela knows Heidi, she could have thought about her. Also, here was the time to make a bubble dress that could possibly double as a floatation device. A little black dress could have saved her from looking like the jet setters bag check girl.

LAST EDITED ON 09-02-06 AT 03:53 PM (EST)The problem with Angela, (IMHO) is that she was never suited for Haute Couture. She does not "do" elegent, she does the gimmiky, fad stuff that appeals to a much younger client. As I said before, Angela is the perfect designer for the teenybopper crowd who can pull off bubble skirts and blouses, and who would look at her "FLEURCHON" as "cute." Her outfit was so wrong, she had to go. There was no elegance, no class, and certainly no jetsetterness (is that a word? lol) about it at all. As she said: "This is signiture Angela" Having said that, her other problem is that her personality is not suited for this sort of competition. Granted, Jeffery IS a rude, obnoxious bully who believes he's somehow entitled to treat people like crap, but it's not like people like that have never crossed her path before -- we all have delt with this type of idiot before. The telling part is the way we handle it. You can ignore it and stay focused, or you can keep attempting to get this type of person to back down, or retract the poison they spew. Since this IS a competition, his bullying is a form of manipulation and it worked on Angela. She was far more focused on what he was saying, than on the job at hand. I don't have a problem with Jeffery's win this week, as he did present something that perfectly fit the challange. What I don't like is his constant eye rolling every time the judges say something positive about anyone elses design. It's a clear indication that this guy is insecure, but hides behind a bunch of "I'm soooooooo missunderstood, and I'm sooooooooo damned wonderful" BS. But, there will be no living with him next episode. LOL

Bunny, there will be no living with him PERIOD. Maybe he'll win this competition but I console myself with the thought that other people in the business will either out-bully him or out-class him and he will have had his 15 minutes on this show.

Hi Prairie, welome to the boards!Somehow, I don't see him winning the competition. One winning design does not the winner make. (Just ask Santino) I do agree with you though, that within the first 10 minutes of the next show, he is going to be a gloating, bad-tempered, Angela-bashing son of a trout, and will continue to be a jerk for the rest of the competition. The best we can hope for is that he somehow gets put in his place. But then, this is a television show, and he makes for "good" TV. Sigh...

Gotta agree there, Wally. I'm gettin' pretty sick of that worn-out striped psuedo gondelier longsleeved T. And the tatoos. When they were all in "hair and makeup" for their jetsetter show I was yelling at the L'Oreal artist "CAN YOU PLEASE COVER THOSE UP? JUST FOR ONE DAY? PLEASE?" Amazing, isn't it, that someone who looks so ghastly can turn out clothes that (sometimes) look so good?

UGHHHH is right! Jeffrey is a self-absorbed baby, as most alcoholics are, and his designs are as ugly as his personality.Give Kayne a break. He can't help his taste. He admits he's white trash from OK, so of course he's going to think "Elvis" when someone says "jet stetter." He's still young, and he can develop some refinement with more experience. The judges were right about Uli. She needs to change things up. Laura and Michael should team up after this show, whatever the outcome. Together they could make a line of clothing that would have a market. My prediction: The final three will will be Michael, Laura, and Uli.

I loved Laura's dress. I thought it was amazing on her! Kayne. so wrong in so many many many ways Jeffery, I thought he looked like a fool to be honest. But I guess if he calls it rock star it fits. Vincent, boring. Not sure why he was saved. Angela I often don't get what she was thinking.

Actually I was complimenting Jeffrey by comparing him to Columbo, who, to me, was a fasinating character. The underdog who finally shows his skill at the end of the show. Shame on those who didn't take him seriously or thought they were just smarter and could out do him. ( I don't know if the actor Peter Falk flipped birds, but he was known to take his fake eye out in public to bring home a point). I would have been happier not to have known about anybodies family and not to have seen Angela's mother cry. Still, glad Jeffrey won.
