"Trading Spouses - 29 November"
I just saw the teaser for the episode that starts in a few minutes so I thought it would be a good time to start the discussion thread. It looks like the obnoxious vegan woman is not a happy camper!

a sig by syren

I'm kinda hoping that she and Cajun brat have some sort duel and neither emerges unscathed.

Yeah, but I'm just afraid that the little monster would vomit and then his head would spin completely around... He got those powers from somewhere - and it wasn't his father Diego.

edited to add:
He's definitely smarter than her though...
plural of monkey = monkeies?!!

Jinx! I edited at the same time you posted about the monkeies!

How obnoxious can these people be about the vegan lifestyle at the restaurant? She wanted to have some seafood while she was on the coast. She did not force any of them to eat that way.

It's the holier-than-though vegans that give the rest a bad name.

I completely agree! Plus, Cajun mom is trying to be sensitive to the beliefs of her adopted family by switching to a vegan gumbo.

Yeah, the dad is doing a good job right about now.

I do agree with vegan mom, however, that ZZ needs more discipline. I would never let a child that age talk to me the way his parents let him talk to adults. HOWEVER, vegan mom needs to find a much better way to put her theories into practice.

However, I don't agree with the vegan man here and he is coming on very strong! The cajun mom has made some very good thoughts and she is learning alot but I side with her more so than the vegan family.

I loved the editing as they went to commercial.
Vegam mom crying as she watches the video. Voice over: "Animals are our brethren." Cut to vegan shoving the dog's face in the pee, wrenching his neck so hard that the poor dog whines and yips.

And now they show the alligator frolicing in the bayou as she finally tries some of the alligator meat... Priceless.

Her hierarchy of which animals are more deserving to be eaten is just odd. And why did she have a hard time understanding why people would have difficulty eating a dog?

O my! That guy that came to visit the vegan household was so sanctimonious as he was lecturing the Cajun mom. What a tool!

And for being an animal right activist, vegan mom didn't exactly have a gentle touch as she was disciplining the dog!

And what the hell kind of party is she throwing?! "Let's all watch an animal rights video now! Because that's how to have a fun time."

She's writing letters and preparing lectures! What an overbearing witch!

And if she cries one more time, well, I guess that I'll nominate her to be a volunteer at a company that tests its products on animals. She should be more than happy to step in and spare one of them (unless its a dog).

I agree. A little more live and let live on her part would go a long way. It's good that she has a purpose in life, but it just seems to consume every little part of her so she has no space to just be cool and casual for a while.

105. "RE: The vegan mom..."
A MAJOR flaw in the thinking of these Militant Vegetarians is that they base their lifestyle on a bunch of NON facts (and then proceed to try to force their opinions on the rest of the world!). I live out in actual FARM LAND where they grow the precious soybeans and corn and other crops that such self-righteous morons eat. And every spring or fall when all of the big machinery goes out into those fields, they SMASH or CHEW UP countless cute fuzzy little bunnies and quail and pheasants and woodchucks and skunks and mice, all snug in their warm soft nests. Not to mention the frogs and toads and box turtles, snakes and everything else that lived there. The whole time that these smug idiots are bragging about saving the world by being vegetarian, they still have BLOOD on their hands!

And if these people were confronted with these facts, what do you think they would do about it? Shrug it off as "acceptable casualties"??? Maybe.

But they probably aren't really INTERESTED in the WHOLE truth, anyway. Just the part that they WANT to believe.

The vegan mom is about to tell the cajun mom that she has made mistakes raising her son! Even if the cajun woman has made mistakes (and I think she has), you don't tell her face to face this way!

And, vegan mom says that she has taken parenting classes? She needs to take dog training classes!

I don't know of any state in the US where you are REQUIRED to have a license to have a dog. The major city where I live wants people to get their dog licensed, but most do not.

Pursuant to California law, if your dog is unlicensed you get a ticket (infraction). If you don't license and vaccinate the dog then it's an expensive ticket!

Most states have the same laws but it is up to the individual district to enforce. They don't go door to door to verify it, just if there is a problem with the dog and they find out it isn't licensed...then the owner is ticketed.

I was very disturbed by this show. Vegan mom is just plain abusive to her kids I hope somone at Social Services was watching. He kids didnt even want her to come home and if she's helping them with thier homework they can forget about college.

Did anyone notice that when Cajun Mom was being surrounded and lectured by that pompus azz about letting the poisinous snakes go that they admitted they killed Black Widow spiders?!! Im so glad Cajun mom held her own

I work with many a vegan and no one has ever tried to convert me in my opinion it's like trying to force your religion on someone and that's just NOT COOL

You're lucky the vegans you know don't try to convert you. I have many vegan acquaintances, because of the work I do in animal rescue. And I have to say, there is only ONE of them who I am close friends with, because she is the ONLY one who never tries to lecture me or convert me, and I could sit at a table with her and eat what I want, and she would never make me feel uncomfortable about my choices. I do find all the other vegans that I have come in contact with to be INCREDIBLY dictatorial and rude -- just like former smokers who become anti smokers. They cannot stop telling people how to live their lives -- and the more they tell me NOT to do something, the more I do it! About Barbara Gates saying she went to parenting classes -- I agree with others who say she was abusive to the kids -- It crossed my mind...People normally go to parenting classes because they are FORCED to go by authorities, don't they? I never heard of any normal person deciding to send themselves to parenting classes.

As someone aptly pointed out already, I think that people who pontificate about personal lifestyle choices are really insecure about their own choices, and need to constantly reinforce them via others.

As a vegan, myself, I have never counselled anyone to become a vegetarian. In fact, I routinely tell people NOT to become "vegetarians", but rather opt for non-meat options, one meal at a time. (But only if they begin the conversation themselves.) That way, they haven't labelled themselves, and are free to choose foods with animal products in them whenever they want.

Each time someone chooses not to use an animal product, they're ever-so-slightly reducing the demand for those products. Even just a small decrease in demand might put an end to factory farms...one of the biggest contributors to animal cruelty.

I hate that there are bad apples in any bunch. But, alas, that is human nature. There are vegans who are jerks. There are evil men. There are fanatical religious nuts. And there are irresponsible dog owners. Most of these losers are a small percentage of the larger group, but their actions tend to make life very difficult for the majority who are completely innocent.

AND what about those POOR plants! If you do not water them, do they not DIE so doesn't that mean they are ALIVE and deserve to live their lives in peace and harmony! POOR PLANTS! I apologize to the LA family for thinking they weren't so bright because I pre-judged them according to how they spoke. I was wrong. The CA lady is not only in a perpetual bad mood but she's stupid - I guess it's easy to fall for crap when you are STUPID!

Vegan mom is a piece of work. "It's monkeies. Listen to me ZZ hun, 'cause I know." What a dumbass. Someone needs to go back to elementary school! I can't believe she was lecturing some guy about how health is important and then she goes out and lights up a cigarette. What a moron. She wasn't being very nice to ZZ's dog, for some who is so into animal rights. Finally, she was being a nasty selfish beast towards her family when she was reading the letter at the end.

How that idiot in the LEATHER jacket who was lecturing Cajun mom about animal rights! Ugh!!

If everyone in California is anything like Vegan mom , then it is time for them to cut off from the United States and become their own country.
She thinks her way of living should be everyones way. Can tell she only likes to be right. She would never be able to take an critizism. Only give it.
All people in La, do not have that strong of an accent, but that accent is brought down from many generations. It is unique to living along the bayou. And any real cajun will invite you in , feed you and make you feel at home.
As far as having people come early to VEGAN moms SHOWING of her film. Cajun friends come over early to see if they can help out. Friends are always welcome, not just at certain set times.
What a shame that vegan mom did nothing to enjoy a different culture and Cajun mom respected her wishes in her house. Shows who is the better person.
AND SHE CRIED, because her husband could plant his orchard. Won't that help to feed them their PURE foods? What a selfish be otch.

I feel for her children. SHe has no respect for them. When the daughter tried talking, she was told to shut up. Instead of asking the child to wait. SHe is all about herself. And no respect for anyone else.
That husband is henpecked and needs to run as soon as he can. Please, take the children, they will end up really warped and hate her by the time they grow up. I see fear in their faces at the thought of her coming home. SHe lives MAD.

Diego may have long hair, but he is not stepped on. And more manly than CA. hubby. He is a pure wimp!

52. "RE: Trading Spouses - 29 November"
Never been here before but I just HAD to vent!

Tonight's episode of Trading Spouses made me so angry. ...Well, it also made me laugh out loud. You see, I am a vegan. But my husband and pets are not. Ergo, I don't preach about being vegan or try to "convert" anyone. It has always been a personal choice for ME...and ME alone.

I was sooooo happy when Fox finished the segment where the woman was attempting to "educate" everyone about animal rights, by replaying her abusing that poor, innocent dog. What a complete loser.

I almost jumped through the television as I watched her abuse that dog!!! Where is the freaking S.P.C.A? Are they going to charge her with animal cruelty? She HIT that dog on camera!!! There's no denying it!!! What about the poor dog crying??? What does it take to get criminals arrested, anyway? Does the dog have to be scarred for life?

As a vegan, myself, I can say that I never harm living creatures, if at all possible. (I'm sure I've stepped on a few ants, but there's only so much each one of us can do. The analogy I like to use is this: It's like the difference between driving down the street and accidentally hitting someone, despite all your efforts to avoid it; and intentionally running down innocent pedestrians.)

I've been training dogs for almost 30 years and have never had to make a dog feel afraid in order to be successful in making them into near-perfect canine citizens. I would never yell at a dog, much less commit the horrible atrocities I witnessed tonight. ...And for that woman to label herself a "vegan" just goes to show that we live our lives more in our heads, than in the real world.

As always, actions speak louder than words. We can all claim we are this or that, but our actions define who we REALLY are.

Personally, I have NEVER started a conversation about being vegan. Ever. In fact, I was just cautioning my husband earlier this evening (...he's slowly coming around to veganism and, as such, is a bit more militant than those of us who've been 'on the wagon' a bit longer - You know...there's no passion like that of the converted...) about loaning one of my animal welfare documentaries to people. I told him to make sure they "ask" for it. It's just not fair to inflict that kind of stuff on people, without their informed consent.

I believe that when individuals are ready to learn more about veganism, they will seek out that information, themselves. You never get anywhere by bludgeoning people with your own pious (and in this case, misguided) views.

This woman really needs a serious reality check. I'm sure the vegan community is willing to provide that to her...animal abuser that she is. Hopefully, just seeing herself and all her hypocrisy on national television will instill some humility in her.

The family from the bayou really came off smelling like roses in that one. Vegan or meat-eater, I'd rather stay with them than that egotistical, fake-vegan I watched tonight.

Jorie

I am a vegetarian married to a carnivore. I have been a vegetarian for almost 20 years and I would never think to impose my life choice on anyone. Most vegetarians appreciate life and wouldn't dream of putting anyone else's lifestyle down, regardless of how they felt about it. With the vegan mom it's about control and feeling superior it has nothing to do with animals. The Cajun Mom was very thoughtful and considerate towards the differences her life and that of the vegan family. Because of it she probably got the most from the experience. She learned about a different culture and went home appreciating her's even more.

Well said. I LMAO when the audience sneaked out on the video. LOL.

The fact that she decided to eat the alligator meat was the last straw for me. She's not very strong in her convictions, plus if somebody came into my house and treated my dog like that, I'd hunt her down and smack her silly.

If my dogs pee in the house, I blame myself for not taking them out - NEVER rub a dog's nose in it. And NEVER ever smack a dog like that. Good Grief!! that's respect for animals???

For example holiday, plural holidays; MONKEY, plural MONKEYS

Well, well, well... what a fun episode to watch. This show always makes me so happy with my own life.

The vegan mom was a riot to watch. She wanted to preach and change everyone to her way of seeing things. Which in her mind was the only right way. And of course she is right because she is from California and she wears the right stylish clothes and eats the right food. And she is so smart and corrects other's spelling. And she decides what order the animals are important. Plus she can tell her children not to cry about the outcome of the letter. Even though she is allowed to cry herself when she doesn't get her way. And don't forget being selfish and not sharing her money with her hubby.

ZZ's haircut was really bothering me. And he does need discipline. But I don't think vegan mom was using the proper way to do it. And that letter she left was down right cruel. Who does she think she is?

I just joined this forum and I must admit you guys are taking it better than me. When I saw how she treated her family at the end I wanted to throw up. I feel sorry for them, including the husband. I may be overreacting but I think the whole family we be better off mentally without her. I wonder if she even realizes what a terrible human being she is?. One thing I found ironic about the friends and relatives of the vegans is that they treat animals better than they treat their loved ones.

brentconn...I agree with you totally! I try to take a light hearted look at these things! The only thing that I can say is that the vegan lady wants us to believe she treats animals well but we just saw her in action with the dog peeing in the floor! She treated her dog as bad as she does her kids! PATHETIC!

Well, that surely was as interesting episode.

That CA vegan putz has no manners, no class and NO INTELLIGENCE!

She made no effort (other than the alligator meat thingy) to experience Southern Hospitality and culture, especially Cajun Culture. She must have one of them Californee palm trees up her a$$.

Sorry to vent, but her obnoxious, rude self-centered diatribes made me want to upchuck. I couldn't honestly believe how closed-minded she was, not to mention those so-called friends of hers. Cajun was truly a Southern belle. I have met Cajuns before (both American and the original Cajuns - the Acadians) and they have warmth, openness and charm. Of course they are also tight-knit folk (not unlike folks from Maine).

And I thought CA was known for it's open-mindedness and tolerance. If Vegan hag is representative of CA, I think I'll stay South, thank you very much!

ITA with you that palm tree up her butt must be uncomfortable
for her to behave so badly! The cajun lady opened herself up and
gave her best to the experience but the vegan was obnoxious, she never stopped running her mouth about her beliefs, she didn't care about anything else. I felt sorry for her children they aren't treated very well and seemed frightened of her!
Of course the cajun boy needed discipline but for her to start in
on his mother with her list was out there, who does she think she
is?
I hope the vegans watch this show and change because of it they
need to lighten up, as for the cajun woman she will see herself
as an open minded kind woman that she is.

hehehe...

Luckily for us vegans, this idiot isn't actually one of "us". She's sort of like the pseudo-animal rights losers who wear leather, eat fish, abuse their dogs...

...oh wait... Losers like her.

She's fake. She's a hypocrite. If just calling yourself a vegan makes you a vegan, then we can all be vegans then, huh?

That's not to say that all vegans are into animal welfare. I know a man who cannot digest animal proteins very well, so he's forced to eat vegan. (In his case, it also happens that he is very concerned about the welfare of living beings, too.)

Thoughtful and respectful vegans don't harm other living creatures (physically or emotionally) whenever possible. That includes the two-legged variety. (grinning)

This woman is just a selfish jerk. For some reason, she's latched onto veganism to make herself feel "better" than others. Eventually, she'll probably turn to something else because that alligator apparently tasted 'oh so good.'

Hope you stick around.

Barbara was an rude, obnoxious bitch. Being a vegan had nothing to do with that. She had no respect for other people's feelings. She didn't even try to experience the Cajun world because she was too busy trying to tell everyone how much better she was than them.

Given the choice of spending a month with the Cajuns or spending 5 minutes with Barbara? I'd be eating Gumbo and alligator for 30 days. And I'd have a great time doing it.

There are NOT enough PG-13 words I could use to describe this VEGAN BEYATCH.

I am only half way through this fiasco and I want to push her in a gator pond! What a nasty piece of work she and her family are.

The constant use of WE by the Vegan family makes me wonder if in fact the lack of protein has caused them to have some type of mind meld where they possess only ONE brain! Clearly no one in the family has an original or independant thought. And thought would be part of the word THOUGHTful and there is more thoughtLESS about that family.

While SwampDaddy may not be the smartest animal in the swamp he is a kind soul. His son is a character but hardly one deserving of the treatment by that lunatic. And he has more sense than she on any day of the week.

Why I don't support eating animals that eat flesh... the root of Mad Cow was in the fact that cows were eating feed made of cows - I suspect somebody fertilized Vegan Beyatch's veggies with the feed as clearly she is suffering from MAD COW.

"I am very smart... "monkies" not "monkeys" "burgers give you cancer" but smoking and drinking beer, not so much apparently. "I love animals" but spanking and hurting and later if necessary eating dogs okay.

The woman is a loon and at this point wins the award of freak of the decade!

RR, you are so right on many things you say! After about halfway through the show lastnight, I realized that this woman is unstable and needs help. She IS everything she claims she ISN'T!

I wanted to throw-up when her husband told her she was in charge (while crying because $10,000 would go towards a garden)!

The one thing I don't like about this show is that they are showing us couples that have a leader and a follower (in at least one of these families). I think a couple should share equally in the parenting and decision making. However, I guess this would not make good drama!

I completely agree. The Cajun woman is the only Mom I have seen on this show with any manners or respect for others. This woman took the time and energy to pack items that represented her culture which was very thoughtful and classy regardless of what the items were. A gracious recipient would accept the gift because it is about the thought and not the actual gift. The vegan children accepted the heads even though they didn't like them and the adults got all indignant about them. The Vegan mother brought nothing but her snotty attitude and bad spelling.

Ouch! This was a painful episode. Kids are my passion. They always have been, and this episode tore me up. While I felt sorry for ZZ, he will survive surrounded as he is by a supporting family. The vegan kids however, their treatment almost brought me to tears, and I never get involved in reality tv. I can only pray that the vegan mom will see this and see she needs help. And that the dad will develope some backbone.

Like I said before I am mostly vegan. It is not an animal rights thing for me just what my taste preferences are. To eat you kill something, it is just rather you feel better about killing animals or plants. Personally, I think we would be in trouble if the whole planet turned vegan. My husband is not vegan. In fact, it is a struggle to get him to eat a couple a day. My children are not either though they eat vegan for breakfast and lunch. I feel like it is a good balance. You really have to be careful having a total vegan lifestyle with kids. You really have to be committed to making sure they get all the required nutrients. I researched it throughly when they turned two and started regular food. I admire the parents who are committed to it, but I met many a child in the hospital who was not getting his nutritional needs met. You have to really plan their meals carefully.

The vegan mom would not approve of the parties we throw and attend either. We always arrive early and have people arrive early especially family. Its like yeah party time lets get started as soon as possible.

At least I found out the proper way to spell monkeies. Yikes I have spelled it wrong my entire life.

The vegan woman is a selfish b*****. She is also a hypicrit(SP). She talked about how eating meat and it being cancerous and not healthy than right after saying that she goes out and smokes a ciggerett. Can you be anymore hypocytical? Also i couldnt believe at how selfish she is i dont get why her husband ever married her but im sure he had his reasons besides her selfish behavior. i couldnt believe that she didn't give her husband any of the 20 thousand that she got how rude and also how mean. I mean hell hes her husband not some stranger. I also didnt like it when she took the cajan family dog and first smacked it than held its neck down in the pee three different times that just pissed me off. Did she really need to hold its neck down three times And smack the dog? I think that she crossed the line with that. I would of liked it better if she would of hit the kid instead of the dog cuz the kid deserved it more than the dog did. Also just to clarify when i say hit i dont mean slap the crap out of the kid all i mean is just hit him on his butt once like she did with their dog. Also she talked about not eating meat and then she went and ate some crocidile meat. Than when her family asked her how it was she lied to them and told them that it was salty and tasted like crap instead of telling them that she liked it unless she really didnt like it. Anyways shes a selfish b**** and a hypocrite.

I'm not pretending to be a doctor but I've wondered with a couple of the people on these shows whether they have substance abuse issues in their regular lives. CA mom was so I extreme that I finally have to say it out loud. Do they leave their "mother's little helpers" home so that we see a person in withdrawal or do they double up on it while they're away for a week and we witness them higher than a kite? I know it's possible that they really act like they are without drugs or alcohol but I wonder.....

For a brief period I lived in Berkeley California, which is often called Bezerkley for a reason.

I ment many people like this and you do when they have an agenda that they have adopted which empowers them to dominate and control every situation - as if they have been chosen to educate the world on their lifestyle choice. Its an almost evangelical attitude

I have always come to believe that anyone who feels the need to proselytize about their life is someone actually unsure about it - so by constantly preaching and scolding others into submission or compliance is a way of validating one's own choice. Its rooted in insecurity.

VB is a control freak. Her children and husband are so submissive, there is no conflict or challenge to her because she turns into this crying mess of a woman who uses her tears and rants to manipulate them into compliance. She hadn't even finished the letter before launching into a tirade, yet it was her that instructed them all to shut up and have no tears. But who was it that violated that instruction from the get go?

If you stopped VB on the street and informed her of what you saw and told her that you found her hypocritical, even documenting said instances, she would DENY and argue with you until you just gave up.. like her family. I meet these people all the time in the Bay area and it becomes pointless as they have created a bubble around themselves which masks as "lifestyle" choices... which of course are superior and better than yours.

I highly doubt she is on drugs or booze. She is just a screwed up media whore who like those before her think she KNOWS more than anyone else and wants to get on TV to share her wisdom. That said, Alex Bell of Survivor.. now he was a speed freak.

A couple things were priceless - one, that Diego dissed the
witch, and protected ZZ from a final lecture, by sleeping
through her departure. Then, the witch's confession and the
appalled reaction from her family .. now she sees what it is
to be treated like a pariah. It was touching to see the kids,
especially the little girl, react to the warmth of Cajun mom.
Those kids know their mother is a nut case.

I'd love to spend a couple days with the Cajun family, I'd ask
ZZ to teach me to fish.

You are right on the money. I usually don't watch these 'reality shows' but started watching this one and while I'm sure there are some very nice, 'normal', well-adjusted people in California, unfortunately, she sums up what most of us think of typical Californian's. What a sanctimonious, self-righteous, self-absorbed, ignorant lunatic from the fringe she is! And her poor children have to endure her ranting's. She didn't even seem to get it when the Cajun family didn't even tell her goodbye. She saw it as a poor reflection on them instead of that it was a reflection on her sanctimonious attitude toward them. What a nut. I hope she is reading some of these forums so that she might wake up to reality. And the nerve telling that warm, nice Cajun mother that she never heard ZZ laugh--he was in tears over this nut job in his home. And Barbara's husband--is his name Spineless or what???!!! But you're right--sadly, she is right and all the rest of the world is in desparate need of reformation to her 'lifestyle' and outlook.

LAST EDITED ON 12-03-04 AT 09:27 AM (EST)

LAST EDITED ON 12-03-04 AT 09:24 AM (EST)

I hardly ever watch any reality programs and I never watched this one until skimming the channels the other night. I got so caught up by this vegan lady. She irritated me so much that I kept watching it just to see what she was going to do next. I agree she was very rude to the entire Cajun family - including the poor dog. She was the biggest hypocrite. I fell in love with the Cajun mom because she just had a very nice way about her. The vegan lady just tried to force all her "issues" on the Cajun family. She was only looking down on them because of their lifestyle - or just the simple fact they weren't from California - instead of being open minded. I think it was completely rude for her to write the letter she wrote. I think the Cajun mom/wife held her own and acted in a dignified manner the entire time.

If I wasn't mad enough by the time the families were reunited after weeks - OH BOY. The way the vegan mom's reacted to her children was unbelievable. She was mean to them too. They were excited for whatever reason and the mom just acted ridiculous. It looked to me like the husband didn't like her very much either. He either looked scared or looked like his thoughts were "I can't believe people are going to see you acting like this on TV". She was so upset and crying about the $50k letter right up until she found out the cajun lady let her choose what to do with the remaining $20k. What a joke. She was crying about "I just didn't think it would be like this". Then what do you know? She got $20k and all of a sudden those tears dried right up. And what was the problem with the money left for the dad for his orchard? Apparently the Cajun mom realized the poor guy had a dream and wanted to help him out - something his wife certainly wouldn't ever do. And SHE can't buy the poor dad a car???? OH MY. She didn't really give the Cajun family anything - at least that's my opinion. I was really surprised she gave ZZ the money for the mud boat. UGH - I'd like to strangle her.

OMG, I hope that animal welfare and child welfare track this VB down and haul her out of her self-governed castle. She is probably the most hypocritical and abusive B*tch I have EVER seen on reality TV - and I've put some time in!

I felt sick when I saw her smack the dog - and roar at her little daughter. What the %&*+ is her husband doing with her??? Doesn't he know that:

a. she's a tyrannical b*tch whose kids are afraid of her
b. he could do a whole lot better!

Diana was a sweet truly maternal person and while Diego may not appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed, he certainly had the smarts to comfort and protect ZZ.

Had to vent thanks!!!!!!

I so agree with you. Where does this vegan woman get off thinking the Louisiana family needed to be fixed? I was so glad the woman from Louisiana cut the end conversation short and said good bye. Diana was truly crazy and I know it wasn't because of editing. For goodness sakes she thought monkeys was spelled monkies. She beat poor ZZ's spirit till he felt like nothing. This was truly the first time I have wanted to jump through the TV and choke one of the Trading Spouses.

The dinner conversation was so funny. First off, Barb was trying to whore all the attention with her "will I/won't I" eat the alligator meat. She's an adult for goodness sakes, eat it or don't eat it, but don't make everyone suffer with your "look at me eating meat" performance. But the best came when ZZ answered her question about eating the neigborhood dog. He put her in her place with the comment about not willing to eat a dog because a dog is "man's best friend". I mean really, eat the neighbor dog, some set of vegan values this woman has.

Hey, I think I just came up with a new word for arrogent, hypocritical vegans. "Convegans" Convenient to be vegan when it is fashionable, but can't hold on to those values when it becomes too difficult (or in Barb's case, when a real tasty piece of alligator meat passes under your nose).

I've been lurking these boards since the first Survivor started and never felt so strongly about putting in my 2 cents. Obviously, I wasn't alone. I came close with the first (meat eating) "treehugging" mom - and I do believe she was insane, but the VB is out there actually hurting people.

I missed how old ZZ was but he did have the self confindence to hold his own conversationally. I think his dad is just one of those really quiet people. He was totally dead on when VB browbeat ZZ over the toothbrushing, etc. Great job on his part.

I wondered also about whether VB was abrasive and/or abusive toward the cameraperson... I bet there's a story behind the curtain there.

Well VB wouldn't know when to shut her mouth. EVER. You notice she is always eating and droning on how "good it is" she can't even eat normally without some type of dialogue going on.

She is clearly disturbed and hardly the spokesperson for endorsing a vegan lifestyle unless its one where apparently lack of animal protein turns you INSANE.

VB is a woman who always needs attention, the last word, the last chew the LAST! God knows what it was like filming her over the week. What galled me even more was her unnecessary wardrobe commentary on SwampMama. Animal prints apparently also a big no no in the vegan world, yet all the rage on the catwalk. Apparently "Vegan Vogue" was not featuring that. Yet having an 80's style perm, cropped pants and VINYL shoes.. nothing says fashion forward more!

Then she couples it with a second letter - because the first and only one was apparently not enough to get her hateful bile out. I was suprised they read it all. I would have wrapped it around a chicken carcass and fed it to the alligator - followed by one of the VB's dogs.. since they are GOOD EATIN!!!

I wish I had been with the Cajun family I would have asked for an aligator carcass myself - because nothing says fashion forward more than matching shoes and bag!
