"No more insider videos for me"

I have been able to watch the insider videos since this season started. All of a sudden I can't watch them. I have been trying since Wednesday. I have uninstalled & reinstalled RealPlayer and that did not work. The screen says conecting then loading. Then nothing happens. There is no help at the CBS or RealPlayer sites. I will have to find out about the insider videos here. So keep up all the good postings.

Thanks

I got a way to get around the video plug-in not popping up. The videos on that site had never worked for me. When i click on "play" nothing is showing.

So i opened the video link on a new broswer window and look at the page source (html). There you will find the link of the video. Copy the address of the link from "http://";; till you see the name of the video "xxxx.rm" There isn't really a system of their naming of files but it has to do with the title and content of the particular video.

You need to include the portion of that long string of address with the ads that is shown before the video. Yep, many of these videos include an ad. Press ctrl-c once you highlighted the address and paste it (ctrl-v) in a Real Media URL address area. The video should load up.

Yep, it sounds complicated.

Thanks for the help.

When I open the video link in a new window this is what I get

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race7/insider/video.php?chap=8646

This is for the "Enough with the horn already"

I then pasted it in the Real Player URL address area and it does the same thing there that it does on the CBS web page. It say connecting then loading then nothing.

I'm sure there must be something that I am doing wrong because you all can see the video clips. I was hoping there was something wrong with the CBS website. I have even tried to watch videos that I had been able to view before and the same thing happens.

Is there another type of video player that I could use or does it have to be Real Player?

No no, you don't paste the address of that page to real media. You need to open and search through the SOURCE FILE of that page where you will find the actual link to the video feed. Once you find the link of the feed you'll paste that into your Real Player's URL field. In video link page contains one video.

For example, the particular link for the video on that page is:
http://video.cgi.cbs.com/video/video_smil.pl/?intro=g2demand/entertainment/primetime/amazing_race7/insider/ads/intro1.rm&ad=g2demand/entertainment/primetime/amazing_race7/insider/ads/army_plan.rm&url=g2demand/entertainment/primetime/amazing_race7/insider/phils_travels/behind/behind708_b.rm

if you feel a bit savvy you can try to cut out the ad that goes in front of the video. It doesn't always work however.
http://video.cgi.cbs.com/video/video_smil.pl/?intro=g2demand/entertainment/primetime/amazing_race7/insider/phils_travels/behind/behind708_b.rm

Unfortunately you'll have to do that for every video you want to view.

You can probably use any other player that will play .rm format videos.
