"Retraction and apology"

I recently blew away a thread that was talking about the next season of SO, considering it as spoiler material.

Upon further review, I have come to the conclusion that I was wrong to do so, and acted hastily. The fact of whether a show is returning *in and of itself* is NOT spoiler material.

So I retract my recommendation for banning two users, and greatly appreciate the nice way in which one of them expressed her concern with me; she didn't have to.

I started a thread in Spoilers for discussion of the possibility of a Season 4 (or not). I guess I'd like to keep it there only because some related factors COULD be spoilers (new HGs, whether the LCs return, etc.).

And posting spoilers outside of the spoiler forum is still a bannable offense. Please alert us if you see any.

But I do apologize for my haste.

What exercise should I work now as my penance? (And do NOT say the booty shake )

Thanks, all, for your support of both Mystic and myself.

I made an error and am admitting it.......

Now where are my graduation gifts????

Hmm, since you acted hastily, you must now walk around with a 100 lb. weight on your back to remind you to slow down, while tied to the two people you almost banned to force you to connect with them, while wearing whatever article of clothing comes out when you reach into a bag and grab (the choices are a size 58 chartreuse muumuu, a baby dress, a too-tight wet suit, or a gunny sack) to remind you not to make hasty decisions, and go out on the street and interview people to find out if they were these two people you almost banned, if they would forgive you.

When I really think you "get it", I will allow you to quit. And I am not a pansy like the LC's sometimes are, so forget the fake tears, baby! If you try to cheat, I will lock you in a jail cell with Liar Lisa. *shudder*

While you're out on the street, you must shout out "I'm the queen of denial"...at least five times.
When you get back to SOH, go to the back yard and find 10 copies of the deleted posts. You must rip them up and paste them all on one board, making beautiful "art" that you must then take to the local art market, where don't be surprised if you are approached by a couple old folks who will fight over your art and talk you down 20 percent of your asking price.
You could say "no" at any time, but your willingness to please everyone keeps you from saying it, despite great embarrassment.
Finally, you must help plan your goals with Sahara, and they must be totally short term and not helpful for moving up the ladder of common success, like taking sushi making lessons, and planning a dinner party that you cannot afford to do for friends you may or may not have after you return home from SO.
Once that is all done, you may fade into oblivion OR choose to return endlessly to these boards to continue to entertain your guests in THIS house! Thank you very much!

Thanks so much for the reinforcement! How about I'll be "Sarhonda" and you be "Oklanya"?

I can't wait for the Board of Review, where we can mercilessly break Cyg down as we hope for another Emmy. I'll put on my big scowling act-mean face, and Oklanya, you can do your fabulous fake faint. Don't worry, I'll catch you (because when you do that, the camera will be on you, so I'll have to get in the picture, of course!).

And is this before or after my Andy Paige makeover?

Well, my wardrobe can't get much worse

Andy will make a SPECIAL trip for you, Cyg!

Add music from JAWS

Oh, no, no, no, you can't have Andy Paige work her black magic on you until you have shown me you have earned bluffed your way through the steps I lay out for you to graduate. When I either decide you are ready, realize you are not going to be and don't want the stigma of yet another failure, or graduate you just because The Great BM decides it would help ratings to replace you, ONLY THEN will you get the fabulous makeover. (It's okay if you are uncooperative--the more drama from you, the more camera time for ME! )

The Andy Paige Dynamite Dyn-o-mite Makeover Package then will be YOUR BLESSED GIFT *cough*cough*. (Actually, I love it because then I will look so much BETTER in comparison.)

Andy will most likely want you to wear something outside of your comfort zone (and outside the comfort zone of all the viewers) that is utterly impractical for your daily life, and then you will get to go to the Whack n' Splat Boutique for your hair and makeup. (An after-graduation supply of paper bags to wear over your head is provided.)

WHY in the world did Allison actually want TWO of those things? Things that make me go hmmm..

Well I, for one, am very impressed. I've never been on a board where a moderator actually admitted they might have made a mistake AND apologized for it! Very classy, Cygnus!!

Personally, I think that's enough humility for the day.

Cygnus is gonna have us all in love with him before long.

First of all, the fact that you might fall in love with Cyg shows you have good taste.

However....

A very blessed and lucky lady already stole his heart for herself...namely me

But you may admire him from afar if you like.

And starting over is NOT in his vocabulary

Hey! Wait a minute? This is the first time you've seen a mod apologize for being human? I apologized first for a mistake I made in another thread. Two of them, in fact. So, it's NOT a first. He just comes off as meaner than I am so he gets noticed. *pout* (After all, we do compete to see who can be meaner to posters. That's our life goal. )

I *heart* Cygnus from afar (even if we are polar opposites politically). Doesn't everyone?

Oh, all right. You can have the credit. And you know I'm just a bigger DAW anyway.

Mystic...would you like some "exercises" too? LOL

"RE: Retraction and apology"
Posted by mysticwolf on 01-31-06 at 03:06 AM
Ummm... After seeing the posts describing some of the "exercises" is it okay to say, No Thanks?

I have 5 terrorist kittens in the house, with 3 dogs, 2 birds, and 4 adult cats (not including momma, who makes 5 "adults") at the moment (all rescues), so I think I'm immune to anything you can do to me. But, if you think I need it, bring it on!

We just don't want you to feel left out and jealous. You know to be a DAW, you have to do some things that make you look ridiculous!

Awwwwwww, I'm sorry, mystic! I must not have seen your mistake/apology. But you deserve kudos for it too! I really do like the atmosphere here that is created and protected by the mods. So, hosannas all around!

In my opinion Cyg it takes a real "man" to own up to a mistake and admit it before everyone!! Thumbs up to ya; you're good people and glad you're here watching over us.
By the way - sure loved the posts with all exercises for penance. Was so glad I didn't have a mouthful of anything.

Geee... That was as good if not better than the "Oprah/Frey" apology! IMO, no penance needed!

People would be very foolish not to forgive!!!

I must have missed that thread..I'm all for apologies, they make ya feel all warm and fuzzy inside. But I'd get a bigger kick out of the exercises that have been suggested

On a serious note: It's cool that your relationship with us posters is such that you can and will admit when you may have made a decision in haste.. A big thumbs up!
