Images they come unbidden
Mind's eye lidless never hidden
Hell's own fire, rubble, ashes
Too often my mind rehashes
Things no one should ever see
Insanity's atrocities
Blackened clouds consumed the air
Blue engulfed, then nothing there
A sky once looked upon with pleasure
Brought us pain beyond all measure
This vital point so plagues my thoughts-
We know them all, the dead, the lost
For in the smallest patch of blue
I see myself and I see you.
