"Episide 6 Show Night Discussion"

Once the show has actually started (you know, in a little over 3 hours), please keep it here until the show has aired on the West Coast. I am not saying to do that until the show starts, so don't go hating on me for posting early, 'kay?

If you think about it, this makes the Thursday night discussions much easier. Easy is good. I'm all about easy.

Miscellaneous Ramblings
--I started this thread while on vacation, thus the premature posting of it. Someone bump me if it gets too low. I may not be online later. Thanks!

However, good idea to get this up now. Last week I don't think the thresd got started until like 15 mins into the show.

Also, I think tonight's show is only 50 mins long. ER is "supersized"! URGH...I hate that!

Guys, I just the perview again, the DON'T ANNOY GEORGE segment... it George, in the boardroom saying, angrily, "The guy is a phoney..." Wow! I don't remember seeing that before...

Hmmmmm, looks like it will be Mosaic in the boardroom, not Apex, as most of us have imagined...

So, who is the phoney? The most likely is Raj... but I wouldn't discount Wes, either. Or John.

Mosaic won for the 4th time. DT doesn't want another Enron, so Pamela was fired.

Trump model management

They have to produce a new clothing line that will "become, hopefully, tomorrow's hottest fashion". They have to pick an emerging designer. They will show their fashions at some show to get big name buyers to purchase.

Team that earns most money selling their clothes win!

Pretty much. This is one of those tasks that you would think is nearly impossible for the men to win (or the women to lose). It would be like asking Chris and 7 of his clones from Survivor to cross a balance beam...drunk. If the girls lose this, they are in some massive trouble. I just can't see it happening.

John: I was gonna work my butt off and said he thinks the error was pricing

Kevin: he and Wes worked on the pricing...Kevin said he thinks they lost the challenge in the first two hours with Ilsa as hte desinger

Raj: "can I say something in defense of John?"

DT: Raj you drove hte models crazy!

Raj: said Kevin made a major mistake

Andy: would fire John

Kelly: would fire Andy

Oooh, this is getting ugly.

Chris says he'd fired John even though he worked the hardest because he left too many loose ends.

He takes Kevin and Andy. Kevin? Umm...he's no the one who said "jack up the prices, jack up the prices:" but whateva

It seems like the PM never wants to bring more people into the boardroom. I think it's because they don't want to anger anymore people than possible. Thinking that person won't take them into the boardroom when they are PM later.

"RE: sheer math"

Or you could look at it this way:

(2 vs 1) or (3 vs 1)

Odds are whoever is the third person chosen, doesn't belong there. In this case I would've taken Kevin and Wes. I think John was a goner either way.

True. But that would, I think, only apply if you think you should be fired...so either way you'd be screwed.

From the Donald's perspective (since we know where he stands with taking unnecessary "risks" wtih the whole Bradford incedent), it looks better if you take 3. It makes you look more confident, for one, and it makes you look smart in terms of taking better odds, too. ANd of course, since it's the Donald doing the firing (excepting of course when Stacie was fired...then it was more like a Salem Witch trial), that would be the way to go. He's said taking 2 is a stupid move on numerous occasions...you'd think these people would learn.

In this case, I would have to agree with Trump. I think the PM either should have went for both pricing assignees (Wes and Kevin along with Andy) or taken Raj in as a flier. Trump and Carolyn were in agreement that he was a pest both to the models and I think it was the designer. Last week, it cost Pamela not to bring Sandy (I think she was decor) who supposedly bothered QVC immensely (I hate names, they could be off, but you all should know who I'm talking about), it may cost the PM this week.

Donald and George say John makes a big mistake by not taking Wes if it was all about the pricing.

John pleads his case. He says the team is strong but he's apologizing for making mistakes.

DT said Andy shouldn't be there.

John didn't bring Wes in the boardroom...John had no involvement in pricing as PM "that's just inexcusable".

John, you're fired.

It was just plain silly of John to discuss the pricing errors then take only Kevin, and not Wes, into the boardroom. It was his plan to do so, but I think he made a last minute switch when many teammates nominated Andy for the taxi ride. I think that he thought that Andy was obviously his fail safe.

I do think that this was an unfair challenge. The men knew NOTHING about women's fashion, and would they? The women, who buy women's fashions, have a much better sense of acceptable styling for day to day use and for pricing, of course.

Raj was totally disinterested in the project, and just played around to amuse himself. Donald is not impressed with him -- he won't be around much longer.

Kevin was articulate and perpared for a fight. I think that he will be around for a while.

And little Andy knows when to keep his mouth shut. A rare gift on this show, and one that will probably take him far.

Maria is safe next week. It send shivers up my spine...

What was it that when Apex arrived the next morning, their entire line was created and ready to go, yet when Mosaic arrived, zip? Same school, whey did Mosaic not have the seamstresses to do their work?

The only logical conclusion is that the designer must have had to lay out patterns for the sewers (er, seamstresses) and Ilse did not have her patterns ready yet, and the Apex designer did. Don't know if this was the fault of Ilse, or the men wasting tons of time on the design process and in the fabric store combined with a designer who doesn't work really, really quickly?

i have been a major fan of raj until this point, and the whole episode i thought he was going to get fired. what the f@ck! he got spanked by the Donald and George tonight. Raj is stealing too much of DT's spotlight. I can't wait to see the extended board room material. so what language was that when raj was talking to the model?

in defense of the men, I buy a dozen fashion magazines a month and i think there designs were very fashion forward. the whole tweed, "sexy librarian" look with broaches and flower pendants was totally in every september fashion magazine. if you noticed, the crowd was avidly discussing the men's collection. but good fashion almost never equals good sales (at least in department stores). High end fashion is sold in boutiques, not bloomingdales. that is where the men really screwed up.

the women's design show high-waisted pants, which only look good on size zero 6 feet tall fashion models. I think the women's designs were pretty simple (a halter-top dress), but this did help them get the task accomplished relatively quickly. unfortunately, the men did not pick a designer for the masses. I really liked the black zipper jacket, but i get something similar to that in the gap. whoopee.

i kind of feel like the men were set up to fail, and that's not really fair. but i also think the men should have thought like business men, not fashion designers. they didn't play to their strengths. I love fashion, and I thought about this challenge all week. They should have done an "aprentice"-inspired collection. Lots of menswear-inspired pieces, maybe throw in a cane or top hat. almost make it monopoly-inspired. i'm sure all the buyers knew that the fashion show was for the apprentice. then the men should have worn tuxedos and walked the models down the runway. it would have been such a better fashion show. designers do crazy sh!t like that all the time. DT loves commercial tie-ins. Can you imagine "apprentice fashions?" I remember when regis did shirts and ties when "who wants to be a millionaire" was big. My mom works in retail, and those shirts and ties flew off the shelves.

I guess I should have said that I did not like the men's designer's creations! I like the women's designer's creations much much better! I don't think either designer should be considered the "better designer", obviously they are more successful in creating clothes than either one of us!

However, I totally agree with you on the price...I called that when they were shown hiking the prices!
