Tuesday, January 11 9PM ET/PT

a. During a Roadblock, Teams go barefoot to complete a task popularized by Lucille Ball.

b. When a Team goes for the Fast Forward, one teammate struggles to maneuver the gear and gets discouraged. Ultimately, will the Fast Forward help them or harm them?

c. The pressures of the Race take their toll on one Team, who experience a meltdown while getting lost on the road to the next clue.

d. One Team tries to get an edge over the others by ducking into a store to make telephone reservations, thus avoiding the airport wait. But while there, one teammate has an allergic reaction.

Could the deep sea diving be the fast forward - one teammate struggles to maneuver the gear and gets discouraged - maneuvering in deep sea diving gear would not be very easy, especially as the vidcap shows someone floating on top of the water.

The barefoot bit would be grape pressing.

Hayden and Aaron are the team who has the meltdown because they get lost?

OMG! Another fast forward already? There are only 2 in the entire race and now they will be back to back! Could this imply another non-elim already too?

In Germany they drove Mercedes. So I was thinking, maybe in Corsica, they'll drive French cars. Is that a Renault? Check out the logo on the steering wheel. Aaron's seat looks like a sport car.

Not much to go on so far, the deep sea dive could be either the Roadblock or the Fast Forward. It looks like only one person is doing the task, since we hear Rebecca saying off camera: "get down there and do it!" Usually the Fast Forward is something both team members must do, so this sounds more like the Roadblock.

The CBS teaser says that the Lucille Ball inspired event is a Roadblock, but it sounds more like a Detour activity or a route marker task. Roadblocks are single person events not team events. They probably have to squeeze out a certain amount of wine to complete the task. A similar task was done on The Mole 2 when they were in Italy.

I think Adam forgot the lead weight shoes to make him sink. Without the shoes he's likely to bob like a cork in the ocean. Don't they use suits like this for sponge diving? (so they can walk around on the sea bottom standing up).

They have to scale down the castle. It's a long way down and somehow Bolo loses his strength. But why do they have to wear the commando uniforms?

Looking at the small caps 21 and 22 it looks like he is pushing off and rappeling down the castle wall and not climbing up the wall. But we do see Jonathan and Victoria and another team at the base of the wall, so maybe they have to climb up and rappel down as they did in the Philippines in the last ep of TAR5. (a real killer of a task!!) Still again, another possiblity, we have seen teams running through tunnels; perhaps this is the way to get to the top of the wall in order just to rappel down. Hard to tell from not seeing the actual video in motion.

From the caps, it seems that grape stomping is the roadblock (1 person doing the task) the detour is a choice between climbing or going out on the water in a dinghy. That would leave the diving apparatus worn by Adam as the Fast forward. But then where are Freddy and Kendra? We don't see them doing any task.

While your logic seem valid, how about another theory. I don't think the Jonathan/Victoria boat drag thing is a Detour. I think it's just a minor task to find a clue (similar to Chip climbing the bridge in NZ while "lazy ass Kim" watches, and teams looking for the Filipino flag). Notice Victoria is doing nothing while Jonathan does all the work. Both racers must do the Detour. Also Victoria says something about losing, so this may be the last clue before the pitstop.

Interesting we don't see Freddy/Kendra in any of the previews. Is there a reason for their invisibility?

When Chip climbed the bridge, that was a roadblock, not a minor task. A minor task would be the ice bar in Sweden, or waterslides in Dubai, etc.

hmm...are you absolutely sure? I think choochoo is correct. I seem to remember that the New Zealand Bridge task was at the beginning of the next leg after the Zorb stuff. Didn't they have to go to the bridge and get a clue before going to the airport. As they were still in New Zealand, it couldn't be a Roadblock, because they were done with the New Zealand leg. The bridge thing was just a scarry task to get a clue. I'm sure someone with a videotape of TAR5 could resolve this quickly.

Oh yeah, Kim sure was "lazy".

Absolutely, 100% sure. The roadblock came first, then the flight to Manila, then the famous "broken ox" detour.

I wanted to add a few more Vidcaps of the J/V watersport task
You can see that Jon& Vic are dressed in the cliff task clothing ,camoflage . This is when Jonathan takes off the shirt and says "I don't wanna do the climb..lets go...I don't wanna do something that I can't do"
and then we see Jonathan in the FishFly raft/ diving ..probably looking for the clue ?
I'm certain that the teams are climbing up the cliff , maybe they have to repell once they reach the top? It's hard to say?

This is interesting. Either this new picture of Calvi Citadelle is reversed or the picture in 22C has been reversed. And if the picture in 20C is printed from a "live" aerial shot than we have a problem.

There're 4 airports in Corsica: Ajaccio Airport, Bastia Airport, Calvi Airport, & Figari Airport (near Bonifacio). Since we know they'll do the Detour task in Calvi, I guess they'll fly to another airport rather than the Calvi Airport and drive to Calvi.

edited: just found out it's a small island so it doesn't matter where. Never mind.

Thanks. That was my last lead. I was thinking since they're divers, they might join the society for some benefits.
I already check the other 77 diving clubs in Corsica for the logo but there's no luck. Maybe someone has better luck than I am.

seems like a ton of diving companies don't have websites! Those that do, aren't anywhere close. I went through 38 pages of dive logos but only semi close one i found was in mexico lolololol

I'll keep looking!

What's wierd, is the logo on the back of the t-shirts, looks almost like a big ship, not unlike the one used for the movie cover of Ghost Ship. I think it's just my eyes though

Usually foreshadowing like this where a team is shown complaining that they are lost and will lose, leads to the team being foreshadowed to be losing, ends up with them not losing. We should be so unlucky this time round.

I don't think the photos of the tunnel running are the Budapest Castle labyrinth, though it would be a great place to visit. If it is there, they are probably collecting the clue that sends them to Corsica. But looking at one of the vidcaps of Bolo in the tunnel, he's running past what look like wine barrels. None of the photos I saw on the labyrinth site look like they have wine barrels in them.

Don't think the tunnels are in Hungary because they seem to be runnig into full daylight. When Lori & Bolo checked into the pitstop at Point Zero, Phil's watch showed either 11:15 or 12:15. It would be dark when Lori & Bolo leave the pit stop, so I would think this is after they arrive in Corsica.

I'm almost done with my research. (that's Kendra line )

Jonathan wears the same T-shirt at the vineyard and at the citadel. After diving into the bay, his T-shirt should be wet. Most likely, the Roadblock comes before the Detour. What do you think?

From what I have seen on today's CBS video promos the task at the Calvi Citadelle seems now to be clearer. From what I have seen and heard, it seems that the teams must scale the wall and then rappel down again. There are scenes of teams both going up and then down. Voice Over: "The teams must scale the cliff" Voice Over: "Can the wrestlers mussle their way to the top?" We see Bolo and Lori going UP the wall. There is another scene very distant of a team member going down the wall. And we see (I think Hayden struggling at the top of the wall and then going down, we also see another player (Aaron ?) going down the wall near the top. Now a curious note: On the scenes of Bolo going up the wall (another climber is way above him on his right - Lori?) we see the top of the wall covered with tarpaulins. But on the scenes of Hayden and Aaron going down from the top there are no tarps on the top of the wall. So, does this mean that they have to climb up the wall in one place and rappel down at another spot?

The entrepreneurs are the only ones out in the boat (another boat is following theirs but I think that this is a camera boat since it is not towing a Flyfin. They are obviously looking for something. Victoria:"I don't see anything" so the detour is very similar to the one in Iceland where you either had to climb the ice wall or search the lagoon by boat. And we all know what happened to the boys from New York in that Ep. Does this spell trouble for Jonathan and Victoria? Perhaps, or is that wishful thinking?

To sum up: There probably is another bunch up at the Budapest Airport waiting for the Altalia flight leaving at 6:50AM which connects through Milan to Nice for the CAC Mediterraner flight to Corsica's Ajaccio or Calvi airports. Of course, just to confuse things, the producers could have arranged for charter flights from Nice to either Ajaccio or Calvi.

So they then may have to drive across the island to the Eastern shore which is the center of the wine vineyards for the Roadblock grape stomping. Then they have to drive to Calvi to do the Detour of either climbing or searching.

Somewhere, the choice of the Fast Forward is up for the second and last time. It looks like Adam and Rebecca go for it (the deep sea dive) Adam is suited up to go down to search for something and Rebecca has to operate the air pumps. There is a hint that one member of the team can not handle the equipment and this causes Adam to get spread out in his suit which becomes too full of air. If this is the case, they may not even gain any time by using the FF.

The pit stop could either be in Calvi at the birthplace of Christopher Columbus or in Ajaccio at the birthplace of Neopolian Bonepart. Two of the most historical spots on the island of Corsica.

One final thought since on today's CBS Sunday Morning program during the preview of the week on TES, there was no mention of the next players booted out of the Amazing Race as there usually is when it is an elimination ep. So could this be the second of three non-elimination episodes? It would fit pretty well here and would balance the Fast Forward which has been done before.

Misc notes:
- Lori wears a red top in the tunnels but a different one at the vineyard. Two different days?
- At the vineyard, Jonathan is ahead with 3 bottles. Bolo joins after Kris.

Now compare 20D and 20E (Hayden and Aaron at the top of the wall -starting down?) with 22 (Bolo going up) note that there is a tarp on the top of the wall above Bolo but no tarp on the wall where Hayden and Aaron are going down. Two different locations? Do they go up in one place and come down in another? Just very curious editing.

So far we have accounted for Kris (and Jon);Jonathan and Victoria; Bolo and Lori; Hayden and Aaron; and Adam and Rebecca (at the deep sea dive site which we believe to be the FF). After the opening sequences in the cars, we are missing at all the tasks pictures of Kendra and Freddy. Are they lost on the roads of Corsica? I think Hayden says: "Where are Freddy and Kendra?)or are they so far ahead of everyone else that they are at the pit stop.

Now that you mention it, I see the tarps now. I didn't pay attention. Good eyes. Yes, the tarps are very close to the edges.

I heard that Corsica is a small island about 115 miles long. If they drive at 35 m/h, that's only 3 hours. If they get lost, it's not that bad. I think there's only 1 major highway between each city.

In my preview version, I only hear "Where's Aaron and Hayden?"
So I don't know now.

Many questions still remain to be answered. But first things first: it looks very strongly like this will be a NON-ELIMINATION leg (the second of three); unless CBS has wised up to the fact that The Early Show gives things away, then TES is following its usual pattern of not mentioning TAR or that they would have the latest eliminated team on their show Wednesday morning, which means that tonight's ep is the second non-elimination leg.

I have been pondering the disappearance of Freddy and Kendra after we first see them at the car park with Aaron and Hayden. And so the following is a way-out, wild, but always possible scenario. Adam and Rebecca choose the Fast Forward before the Roadblock and the Detour and go to the deep sea dive location. But following right behind is Freddy and Kendra who have been just escaping last place the last few eps,SO THEY DECIDE TO DO THE FAST FORWARD also and race Adam and Rebecca to the dive site. There is nothing in the rules that say that two teams can't do the Fast Forward. And we have seen Rebecca screw up the machinery and poor Adam is left floating like a beached whale. Meanwhile, Kendra mans the pumps correctly, Freddy sinks like a stone and retrieves whatever it is they have to retrieve (clue to the pit stop in a waterproof bag) before Adam can get the air out of his suit and sink to the bottom. But when he gets there the clue is gone and then they must retrace their steps and continue with the Roadblock and Detour falling way, way behind and ultimately end up in last place at the pitstop which I believe could be Napolean Bonapart's Birthplace in Ajaccio. I believe this is why we have not seen any footage of Freddy and Kendra. And just as Bolo and Lori moved from last to first last week, so do Freddy and Kendra this week. And on the CBS webpage we have another tantalizing clue: "Will the Fast Forward help them or harm them?" Fast Forwards aren't always sure bets as happend last time in Calcutta.

Another question still is unanswered: does the Roadblock come before the Detour this time? Normally, route directions and the detour come before the Roadblock, but not always. IF the usual pattern is followed they would drive from the airport in Ajaccio to Calvi to do the wall climb/rappel then across the island to the vineyards on the East Coast for the Detour, the wine stomping. IF this is true then, Jonathan and Victoria, who have gone boat riding, have caught up with Kris and Jon, and Bolo and Lori, the other two couples we have seen at the wine stomping. And this would mean that the Fast Forward was picked up before they went to Calvi. But if the editing of the promos is in chronicalogical order, then the Detour comes before the Roadblock which seems to make more sense.

So any more ideas of what is store for us tonight?

This says the teams must do the roadblock on their way to Corsica. The roadblock should come first.

I agree Freedy & Kendra may compete against Adam & Rebecca at the Fast Forward. I think they can both attempt it and whoever gets the clue first will be granted the free ride to the pitstop.

So the roadblock is either in Hungary or in southern France (I assume they will be flying into Nice or Marseilles) before they land on Corsica.

Did some googling, and found that halfway between Nice and Marseilles is a town called St. Raphael. Tourist info says there is a Underwater Archaeology Museum there. Hmm....

St. Raphael also has the unique reputation as the port where Napoleon I departed for exile to Elba, as well as the first place he landed after his successful Egyptian campaign. Corsica is his birthplace. (Bit of a stretch, I know).

Maybe the diving is done off the mainland.

Since, Phil said at the very first episode that there will be 8 non-elimination and never said there will be 4 non-elim, I think leg 6 was kind of an non-elim. So if there's one tonight, can we assume it will be the third one???

A non-elim is when you are the last team to step on the mat and you lose all of your money and don't get money for the next leg. The to be continued was not a non-elim.

you could be very well on to something then. THAT would explain the typo discrepancy in one of the write up that say *teams* must use an underwater breathing apparatus.

Another possible solution is Kendra has the allergic reaction in the store and is sent to hospital and out of the race! (one can only hope!)
