This thread is the episode summary writer sign-up thread for NBC's The Apprentice 2, which premieres Thursday, September 9 at 9PM ET/PT and will be consist of fifteen (?) episodes.

(Yes, after watching AK and Bebo have all the summary fun during last spring's initial season, other writers now get their chance at this show!)

To sign up, please post your interest in this thread, as well as any applicable date restrictions that you may have. Writer selection will be arbitrary, sorry. Please note however, that we are also running open sign-up threads for several other shows, so if you are planning to reply to more than one of the above mentioned open sign-up threads, it would be helpful if you could note the other shows in your reply, so that we can try and ensure any proposed schedule doesn't schedule you for back-to-back summaries, commit you to more summaries than you were expecting, etc.

As a reminder, while all our summary writing is on a volunteer basis, etc. reliablity, timeliness (or at least status communication) is important, and that while we can't offer anyone any $$$, we do occasionally partner with companies to promote stuff and, if we can, I do try and pass some of the goodies.

I'll ask for one, but I think we may actually get to the random draw level this time around.

I'm currently on the application/random draw list for Survivor and LCS3, and am valiantly resisting the urge to go after The Real Gilligan's Island. (So far, I'm winning.) I'm still looking for the commercials on everything else, although The Benefactor might be interesting if Mark Cuban's forgotten his medication again.

Me!!! I'm doing the TAR Finale and have requested a Survivor slot. I think that's all I have on deck at this point. I don't really watch a lot of the other shows during the fall due to work.

Sign me up too. Willing to tag team or whatever...but I don't think that will be an issue this time around. Also signed up for Survivor. Willing to do both. I am still MB's #####...despite the FOX fiasco which shall not be named.

Below's the proposed schedule that AK and I have put together. We've checked it for TAR5 summary conflicts, but since that's the only other show which we've currently assigned writers to, there wasn't a need to cross-check it for other fall show summary assignment conflicts (we'll be posting proposed schedules for several of the other upcoming shows this weekend or early next week, thanks for your patience.)

Please reply below confirming your assigned episode works for you. We've included a tentative broadcast date next to each episode, but please be aware, as with all shows, broadcast dates are subject to change -- particularly the ones on or near the Thansgiving and Christmas holidays. We also don't know if/when NBC will air the recap episode, but just to be clear, whenever it airs, it remains the episode that the writer who was assigned to that episode is responsible for -- we don't push the whole schedule a week.

We're assuming a 16-episode run and have drafted a schedule accordingly. Unfortunately since there were 17 volunteers that means that one person was left out -- emdyi. I'm sorry that you got the short straw but if it turns out there's a 17th episode, you'll have first dibs on it (assuming of course that you're still interested.)

Episode 6, October 14th. Got it. Late enough to have cleared out a little of the name logjam, early enough to still have a major mental disorder or two left in the minicorps.

Okay -- Burnett Series #2. Please, please, please let it go better than The Casino did...

Umm, I'm down with wherever you put me. Should I read those "???"s as "we're not sure if the show will run that long", or "there will be 16 episodes, but we're not sure when ep16 will be"? If it's later than the 23rd, I **may** have a conflict, as I **may** be going out of town the week between Christmas and New Year's. Plans are not firm, but being looked into...seriously. I don't have any other Fall conflicts.

I'd love to do the finale, though. Although last season, didn't they split it into 2 episodes?

Anyway, let me know. I live to serve.

The ???'s mean that, in the case of the Thanksgiving episode, November Sweeps end the day before so we're theorizing NBC might air that week's schedule the Wednesday before Thansgiving rather than Thursday night. In the case of Christmas, we're thinking there's probably an episode sometime that week, and it will probably be broadcast by the 23rd at the latest, but given the rumors that they are considering making the finale into a 3-hour Survivor-style thing, they might air it sometime earlier in during the week of the 23rd.

OK, noted... although as I mentioned above, since the 23rd is the last available broadcast evening before Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I'm thinking the chances that the finale doesn't air by 12/23 at the latest are somewhere between slim and none.

The penultimate episode started with 4 folks, and Nick and Amy were eliminated partway through... with Kwame and Bill starting their tasks for the reminder of the episode. But given the increase to 18 contestants and the number of weeks between next week's premiere and the holidays, we're thinking that's not likely to happen this year (which also fits well with the rumors that the finale is going to be adopting a Survivor-like 3-hour format.)

Well, as long as it doesn't air after Dec. 23, I'll be able to do the finale. I'll go ahead and commit to it. We should have enough warning for when the finale will actually be shown, and how that will be impacted by any travel on my part, that in the unlikely event that the two cause a conflict, we'll be able to get someone to fill in.

All of which is to say, I'm in.

Although I am honored to have been chosen, I actually replied to this thread to beg off PTTE and FLL because my life is so crazy right now, so I don't feel that I could do a summary either. So I am offering the E15 Dec. 16 slot to emdyi or Amai to do. Sorry for the mix-up.

Just to inform... Crest is running a contest which has a grand prize of a trip to the live Apprentice finale. (See Crest.com for info).

The finale is scheduled for 12/16/04 according to the Crest site. Perhaps this date will alter the summary writing schedule?

Edited to add: forgot where I read it, but the finale may be 3 hours??? Not sure though. Take it with a grain of salt at this point.

The past two summaries were truly wretched. I hope for better ones with some insightful comments instead of a transcript that basically replaces every woman's name with "Jennifer".

Heh, you guys are cool. I don't know what I was thinking when I said "truly wretched". What does that phrase mean anyway? It's about as meaningless as all of Andy's boardroom comments... "leader can never be surprised... running the team in ad hoc fashion... no substitute for hard work..."

If you think you could do so much better, why don't you? Unofficial summaries are welcomed here. The only thing that we ask is that you wait until the official summary has been posted for the week.

Schedules like this are put together so that we know that we'll get at least one summary per week. Posters put in a lot of time and effort for the sake of entertaining others. I'm interested in seeing what you can do.

Anyone can shoot others' work down, but it's a whole different story to take on the task yourself.

Thanks a lot guys. The first time I read your commentaries, I was rolling! People in my office were questioning my mental health! This site cracks me up way too much. I almost went to my boss and said "check this out..." This is what I do and you pay me to do it! LOL.
