Close, but no cigar. Like a lot of other teams, Freddy and Kendra paid a taxi to drive in front of them and lead them to the pitstop drop-off point. When Jonathan and Victoria drive up, you see Freddy is in the process of paying the cab driver for guiding them, which allowed J/V to get the early lead in the race for the pitstop.

The chaos was a bit difficult to piece together, but apparently Jon accosted a person on the street to watch his bag so that his load was lightened in the stretch run. Victoria was afraid someone would take the bag, so she ended up having to carry two - slowing her down and allowing Freddy and Kendra the first place finish.

Quite frankly, I wish Victoria had left the bag there and the bag would have ended up stolen, but I'm sure Jon would have found some way to blame that on Victoria as well.

I've seen a lot of these reality show contestants in the last 4 years and he has got to be the most OBNOXOIUS !#&@#!@ I have ever seen and this is coming from someone who danced around the house in glee when Jerri got axed in S2). As much as I lvoe TAR, the end of tonight's episode really disturbed me.

I've been trying to get motivated to write TSI's again, but I just can't do it. Before, I was bored by too many model/actor/acting models teams blending into each other. Now I'm just sad watching how horrendously Jonathan treats Victoria. Witnessing spousal abuse is not fun, and it's certainly not something I can make fun of.

I so agree with you. I am still shaking - and drinking - bc I'm so upset. Why this show - Emmy winner - continues to showcase verbal and now physical domestic abuse is beyond me. And no one intervened. Sickening. I wish I could do something more than writing complaint emails to CBS and affiliates. And voicing opinion here.

I'm not mad at the show or its producers. In a way, I feel like they're doing a bit of a service. No one is defending his behavior. People are talking about a problem that typically stays behind closed doors - spousal abuse - and expressing their outrage.

I don't see how it could have been edited out of the show. She was breaking down as they checked in. The only way to cover up how upset she was would have been to reshoot. And the push, etc. was necessary to show us why she was feeling the way she was feeling.

My one consolation is that there is no freaking way this team wins the Race. If they had, there's no way we would have been shown the shove, and we wouldn't be seeing all of the fights.

What are you going to say in your CBS email?

I don't want to sound like I am being an arse here but CBS was showing what happened. I am sure if CBS had any idea that Victoria was in danger they would never let anything happen to her. They would seperate them.

I think CBS shows this type of behavior in showing America and the person that is being an arse just how stupid they look. There is no way Jon is watching this show now and thinking that he looks good in these situations.

Don't forget how delusional most of these DAW's tend to be. I'm sure he's blaming the editing, the camera crews, the producers and, of course, Victoria for his portrayal. It certainly won't be his fault assuming he even admits he acted that way at all.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one disturbed by this scene. It was so disgusting that I wanted to cry at the end of the show even before I realized one of my favorite teams had been eliminated.

I have to believe that they are going to penalize Jonathan somehow for this behavior and that the only reason they included this scene was to explain why he was given a penalty.

If Jonathan had done that in front of Probst, I think Jeff would have decked him...or minimum really got into has face...

Phil just hesistantly says, "Jonathan, I think you should go talk to Victoria"

Hopefully, he will get a penalty and warned not to do that again or he will be booted

November 20, 2004 We want all of you to know that yes we are human and yes we fight but in the end we do love each other. The stress from the Race brought out the unknown and this is what you are seeing. We are true fans of The Amazing Race and loved every second of running it. Jonathan was colorful and crazy on the show because he could be and just wanted to have fun with the experience.

No matter what she calls it, it is still abuse. Verbal abuse is the worst kind because it is so hard to see it for what it is while you are in the middle of it. Trust it from one who knows.
I feel so badly for Victoria.
