Palmer's dead. Michelle's dead. Edgar's dead. Lynn's dead. Tony's dead. And Christopher Henderson is very much alive.

You know, CTU is more of a terrorist target than the World Trade Centers were. It's been blown up. It's been nerve gassed. Innocent people have been murdered there (Teri, Ryan C.). It's been subject to more takeovers than Kuwait.

And yet Jack Bauer still goes on, like the Energizer bunny, dragging chaos and destruction in his wake. Who's the next victim of the Bauer Curse?

We the viewers. Because no matter how much we wish it, Kim will live. And I have not doubt that we're not done with her.

Do we know that Tony is done for sure. I mean Robocop took plenty of those injections and Tony only took one.

Tony's dead. This week's issue of People Magazine had Carlos Bernard (Tony) talking about his death. The NYT ran an article about it. And, of course, there's this:

"I was out with some friends, and I had a couple of women come up and say, ‘Edgar better not be dead,’ and I’m like ‘What are you talking to me for?’ " said Carlos Bernard of 24, whose Tony Almeida was killed off last week. "You have no idea what’s coming."

TV Guide Online has confirmed Tony's death. This is from the latest Ask Ausiello column:

Question: OK, so we know the Hobbit made the ultimate sacrifice on Monday's 24, but did Tony die as well? Couldn't quite tell from the closing scene. — Jay

Ausiello: Yeah, Tony's toast. Carlos Bernard confirms it himself in the new issue of TV Guide, saying, “Creatively, the writers have done all they could do with Tony.”

I know the really sentimental loss is Edgar.

But...

Carlos Bernard is a hottie. I'll miss him.

In addition to official, unbiased confirmation, FOX's 24 Recap said he was dead too.

Well well well, what do we have here but...MISS AUDREY!!! Looka here looka here! I know that had to rock Jack's world 'cuz she's kinda like the only person that Jack has left since Kim is doing her little "I don't want to talk to you" number. Well what will Miss Audrey have to say for herself?

I'm glad Palmer's brother wasn't killed...at least not yet considering this season's track record. Plus I think he's a nice looking man and...well...with Toni gone, I'm just not for another handsome man getting killed so soon. After all a girls gotta have her eye candy. After all you fella's got who? Chloe? I dunno...

Oh and the German(?) intelligence guy, IMO he was good looking too in that bad boy kinda way! And yes I watch this show for it's excellent story lines, twist, turns, intensity, action, and acting, but sometimes the guys are good looking!

yes we guys need some new eye candy too. Chloe is um well Chloe...nice girl but definitely NOT hot. Audrey is just ehh and even Collette doesn't do anything for me. Pretty sad that President Putz's old wife is the closest thing we have to a hot chick on the show

"Stoller ----> Desmond"
Posted by AugustGirl on 03-21-06 at 07:31 AM
So, was Desmond a German operative before he got Lost, or after he got off the island? Are the terrorists involved with the Dharma Initative?

Anyone else have a hard time keeping the Desmond character out of mind when Stoller was on screen? My first thought when I saw him was "hey look! it's Desmond. he must have gotten off the island."

Yes, I'm a dork.

But I do have to say I love the twist with Audrey being outed as the possible mole. I really don't think she sold the info, but what a great twist, and I can't wait to see Jack interrogate her next week.

I was right there with ya Augie. I wouldn't have been surprised at all last night if the numbers had come into play somewhere.

I can't wait to see Jack throttle her next week.

Who all thinks that next season will be Jack helping Stoller? Jack always keeps his promises.

Jack has to die sometime and the US can only be under threat for so long before it becomes ridiculous. Keifer has even said Jack will die at some point. So I'm thinking this Stoller character might be able to open up the storylines internationally in the longer term.

The hot rumor is that there will be international action next year (in particular, London), and I was thinking just what you guys were -- Theo Stoller looks like he's being developed to be the lead in next year's show.

Gawd, I hope not. 24 just wouldn't be 24 without Jack... Kiefer seems pretty irreplacable to me. If he bites it, I hope it's in the last episode of the series.

I can't imagine that they would kill Jack. The show just wouldn't be the same and there is no one who could ever take his place. And don't forget y'all--Jack did die last season, then they brought him back to life.

"Killing Jack"
Posted by AyaK on 03-21-06 at 01:55 PM
I don't think 24 would survive the loss of Jack Bauer.

However, Jack doesn't have to be the ONLY center of every investigation, does he? What if an investigation involved both a U.S. and European piece -- as in Season 2, when an Arab country hunted down the family of a terrorist leader (Syed Ali of Second Wave) for Jack? We didn't see that on screen -- but we could have.

I know, I was thinking the same thing, Augie! No wonder he ran off from the Hatch & we haven't seen him. Obviously he ran off to do more undercover work!

I'm so anxious to see how this Audrey thing plays out. I'm thinking the real seller CLAIMED to be Audrey, but isn't. However, you'd think Collette would've checked that out.

I too was stuck on the connection. And also how could Collette have known Audrey's signifigance to Jack? She said the name because that's who sold her the info.. Whether it was really her or not remains to be seen. And I want the German to go commando on Jack. I see a nice Chinese german allanice in the making.

“Apparently, she had a price."

Great line by Collette.

I get so sucked in by this show it's crazy. I had a tremendous adreneline rush when the arrest was going down with Collette. It went so smoothly - and with great disappointment for both she and Stoller. I'm wondering if the two of them will have any more storyline after next week. Probably not, but they were simmering.

I keep getting Twin Peaks flashbacks. Gardner/Leland Palmer is channeling BOB again. Is he responsible for the attack on Wayne Palmer (Palmer/Palmer?!).

"Preview - Jack choking Audrey - OMH!"

For the fourth time this season, this made me yell: "Cut her eye out!" at the tv again.

(I know, I know. I got problems.)

It really doesn't seem like Audrey is in on it since she's been a huge help to the investigation. What possible "price" would have been worth it? I think it's to eliminate all possibility that she and Jack reconcile. They won't be able to go back to the way things were after he's givin' her the "terrorist treatment".

The only way I could see Audrey being the mole is if she flipped out when she thought Jack was dead. Jack hasn't seen Audrey in a long time. She was not in on the fact he was still alive. Did his death affect her in a way she couldn't handle? What about her father? Would she turn on him too?

What about Jack's girlfriend and her son that he left behind? Will she be back in his life? Because if Jack accuses Audrey I can't see them reuniting even if she is innocent.

Good thinking about Audrey flipping out after Jack's death. Is there something related to Jack or Kim that would've made Audrey sell something valuable to the terrorists? Could she have done it to save his/Kim's life or something in that vein? Or maybe even her own life?

Or Audrey was blaming everyone for Jack's death and she wanted to get even.

Hopefully Mr. Prez - he's on my last nerve. He needs to die a long, slow, lingering, extended, prolonged death that lasts a long, long, long, long time.

Have you ever replayed a scene from 24 with your friends in an everyday situation? Try it... it's fun:

24 at 7-11 at 8:32 a.m on 3/21:

Someone playing Jack: Dammmit (looks left) they are out of creamer again (looks right)!

Someone playing Chloe: Jack, there's only 10 seconds (insert dimple) before Tony's burrito is done, what do I do?

Someone playing Tony: Get my burrito out of the oven (insert brooding but oh-so-sexy eyes) before it explodes Chloe!

Someone playing Chloe: Fine, Tony! Don't get snippy with me!

Sure, you can't go back to that 7-11 for a few weeks, but hey, it was fun eh?

*snort* it's so funny cause it's true. One thing that I've kinda wondered the last few episodes though is why is there only CTU-Los Angeles and why does everything happen in LA. I remembee President Putz declaring a curfew for LA yet when Palmer's brother was trying to get to the white house, he was told he shouldn't be out after Curfew. He was trying to get somewhere reasonably close to the White House right? or are they all stuck in LA? Maybe I'm the one getting a bit confused.

Hell of a show last night though. I'm thinking either Audrey was duped somewhow or didn't know who she sold the plans to. It really wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to make her a terrorist.

You're confused, CSTL. The President is in LA for the signing of the treaty with the Russian President. They are at some "compound" near the city. They are not in D.C.

I can't really see Audrey selling anything to anyone. I am of the theory that she was framed for this just like Jack was framed for Palmer's murder (the security video that showed "Jack" at the scene of the crime).

Terrorists are sneaky, I'm telling ya.

I agree. However, I wonder how she'll feel about Jack turning on her, as the previews indicate.

>Terrorists are sneaky, I'm telling ya.

We've met Bierko far too early for him to be the terrorist-in-charge. Right now, the show seems to have Henderson in the Peter Kingsley role, if you'll forgive a reference to season 2. Though ... I still want a plausible explanation as to how someone on the verge of death, as he was supposed to be, could have killed Tony and escaped.

Unless his CTU interrogator was part of his plot, that is.

""Western White House""

In the current show, the President is visiting his home in Southern California, aka the Western White House.

No one wants to move Jack Bauer to D.C. or NYC. Can you imagine the diplomatic incidents that would ensue?

I have to confess I'm an old fashioned gal and I love 'heroes'. I loved Jack willing to sacrifice his life to try to get to the computer. It didn't work out, but he was acting heroic again. Lynn was a jerk anyway. Hate that Edgar died. Hate that Tony died. Very curious about the lead that Audrey is a mole. Can't wait for Monday night!!

I love love love the idea of a Euro 24...."The following takes place between 1700 h and 1800 h." Desmond Toller was so hot, he's too good for just two episodes. Unless he turns up again as a baddie....

Ayak, you were so incensed at the silly Presidential storyline with Season 2, isn't this one getting a bit much? I know I don't know my American politics, but can a VP and Prez work alone as a twom-man hit team? Seems less plausible to me than that 25th ammendment stuff.

We don't know that the VP and Prez are a hit team. But it's incredibly dumb to have the VP tied in to a hit in any way. We don't have a Praetorian guard in the U.S. that would follow any order from the VP, especially an order to kill the brother of an ex-President.

Really, we don't.

And I'm still wondering why Mike Novick didn't do federal time for the injuries to Lynne in Season 2. Yes, the "injurer" was Jesper Isberg, but Mike was every bit as liable legally.

Once he went to the federal pen, Mike would never have had a future in politics....

Much less Chief-of-Staff under his third Prez. Palmer-Keeler-Logan. Is Mike the only advisor to the JeNeSaisQuoi Party? They might want to consider Monster or Workopolis.
