"am I prude, or too much naughty in this?"

okay, so i'm really liking the =CASINO= stuff, like when wankers lose all their money, and you get to see Big Idiot with the napoleonic complex bark at ppl and take out his Short Man aggression...

but i really can live without the bachelor parties, the swingers, all that stuff. i don't want to see it. i wanted to see operating and running a casino, not random morons walking around doing vegas things AT said casino.

wtf was MB thinking? whatever happened to the sanctity of WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS, STAYS IN VEGAS ???

he's violating the pact the entire city has with the... well, entire rest of the world!

I think I'm with you here Venus. This certainly DOES NOT make me want to go the the Nugget. Would I rather hang out with the a$$hole gamblers or the pervert guests? Hmm? Neither!

Other thoughts from last night:

- This episode was better than week 1

- It was fun watching that guy lose all that cheddar

- Why does that OTHER owner always seem hammered?

- That unwilling swinger guy needed a comp haircut from the casino

- My favorite cast member is that weight-challenged Rotty.

- It still feels pretty staged

...thinks those were some pretty lame swingers

- This episode was better than week 1

i don't know. i really enjoyed that guy ending up with the transvestite last week. but the sex wasn't as inyourface this week, IMO, so that part was better.

- It was fun watching that guy lose all that cheddar

it sure was. i was rooting for him. then i loved how his gf was all "whatever money you had in my purse is gone" as if *he* put it there! pssst! she TOOK it and then LOST it. MORON!

- Why does that OTHER owner always seem hammered?

the short guy? he totally always seems TRASHED!

- That unwilling swinger guy needed a comp haircut from the casino

i can't believe *he* wussed out and the wife was into it. i was not expecting that AT ALL.

- My favorite cast member is that weight-challenged Rotty.

awww... the close-up of the dookie? i could've lived w/o that one.

- It still feels pretty staged

in that they're going to have to obtain permission from the ppl to be filmed ahead of time, and given that ppl act differently when they know ppl are watching, and esp when they know it will be on TV behind such a DAW name like MB, i can see how it will continue to seem staged. but i don't think it *is* staged. i just think it feels... less than real. but, after all, it is vegas.

-- will still watch but wishes they'd tone the sex down b/c it's just BORING and POINTLESS

I'm glad you said something, cq, because I was starting to wonder if it was just me or what - but the whole 'swingers' thing? The overdone sex stuff? Gross. And who cares?! This is supposed to be about a casino, not sex-crazed strangers who go to Vegas strictly to get laid in some form or fashion.

And I totally agree on weirded out boyfriend's haircut. It's really not attractive, and someone should tell him that.

I agree with you about the sex stuff but I think what they are trying to show is that this stuff "does" happen in Vegas along with the gambling. I could do without the sex stuff but they didn't ask me.

- of course it's a Slicey!
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn... that was fun!"

- and what about the guy getting paid to walk the Rottie on the roof!

not just because of that, but the previews didn't make me want to rush to record it at all. It's just slimy and I want a shower after I watched the premeire.

Miscellaneous Ramblings
--Discovery channel--Friday nights. I'm there.

So that's literally two down, half a dozen to go. Call Basil: it's going to be a fleet of early check-outs.

...then you should be watching AMERICAN CASINO on Discovery Channel. Its on Friday nights and replayed Sunday mornings. Its a really good show, at least through the first two eps...and its ALL about the different employees at teh casino/hotel and how they interact and what they have to do in their daily jobs.

I haven't seen the MB show yet, but from what I hear from people who have seen both, the Discovery show is much much better.

Listen to Shakes, he's right on this one.

I tuned into American Casino and liked it much better than MBs Casino. Mainly because it's about the running of a casino. The main people you see are the workers, NOT the gamblers.

Personally I didn't mind the swingers/sex stuff last night. It's what happens in Vegas. I know of a group of people that go twice a year and the sole purpose is to get laid. No gambling, just sex. (please...not me...I'm happily married )

But again, I'd take the Discovery channel Casino first any day.

I heard the same thing. I'll be switching to American Casino. I don't mind sex, really, I don't, but that is just icky, icky, icky stuff that I'd rather not have to suffer through. If they're gonna focus on sex, they should at least find good looking participants, and not slimy skanked out freaks.

actually, i have caught that show on discovery and it was MUCH better. at least to me. i mean, it was about the casino, and not its gross clientele.

since i'm a total moron i'm sure i'll stick with this MB crappola version as well, but not without much complaining.

I missed the first episode, and was looking forward to this show, but found myself with my mouth hanging open in shock.
For some reason when I saw the caption 'swingers' under the trio I guess I thought they were going to goof on them, not that they were going to show them trying to recruit a young couple for a night of sex.

I imediately thought it was me, So I start talking to myself.
"Buggy, you been living in the sticks too long."
"Buggy, you have become an old married lady."
"Buggy, when did you become such a freakin prude!"

But I was kinda shocked to see this on a reality show.

Okay question, did the couple pay them for that? The swinger woman handed them a business card. Was it soliciting?

And I agree with my friend True that they were just creepy icky.

I'm thinking they paid for that evening. Uh, bill that to room 6969 please. On the other hand, prostitution is legal in Nevada but not Vegas. At least that was the law the last I heard.

...would've shopped around for better looking "hosts" if he was going to swing that way

"RE: am I a prude? THANK YOU!"
Posted by cqvenus on 06-23-04 at 11:55 AM

i don't think they paid. i think those ppl just were out trolling for new ppl to drag into their devious lifestyle. not that i'm judging them, mind you

elroy is right. prostitution is legal in the state of nevada, but not in... whatever county las vegas is in.

not that i know about these things

as for your being a prude, i'm from new york city and this stuff bothered me. so i assure you, it isn't that you've been living in the sticks too long.

additionally, the first ep was worse, IMO. be glad you missed it.

wonders if MB will make all his shows about sex since it "sold well" on S7

Did anyone else think that David looked like the movie version of Draco Malfoy after a long drink of Age Potion and a bad haircut? (Not our Draco, of course. Our Draco has more fashion sense than that.) Disturbing...

Was that his name? I kept calling him Gunter.

I think so. But I kept calling him 'GET OFF MY SCREEN, YOU TIME-EATING (CENSORED)!', so I may not be the best source here.

I thought he bore an uncanny resemblance to David Flair, the untalented son of pro wrestling legend Ric Flair. Whoever he is, his group really needed to hook up with Transvestite Carmen Sandiego from last week, that's all I gotta say.
