No DirecTV here, so I'm waiting for the NBC rebroadcasts next year. Please don't post any spoilers in the meantime!

Max I read over in the FF forum that you may stop watching FF in the winter when Lost and FNL returns. FYI NBC is waiting until the summer to air FNL this year so you may want to watch it online if you don't want to wait that long. I watched it as soon as it came online yesterday!!

Agree. Sorry Max, I can't wait that long.

I missed most of the first fifteen minutes or so putting kids to bed. What was the big deal at the meeting that got the crowd so fired up against Principal Taylor?

Why is Julie going to go to East Dillon? Is she protesting the forced removal of students?

Tools, clothing, electronics, appliances, assistant football coaches. Is there anything Sears doesn't have?

I wish Riggins had stayed at college just a little longer, but I guess they felt they needed him back quickly to become an assistant for Coach Taylor. Okay, I'm guessing that part from the previews of next week. I wonder if maybe Sarancen ?sp? comes on board, as well.

I loved, loved, loved Principal Taylor's behavior at the coin flip.

I will have to tell you tomorrow. I was so excited about it starting, but I rarely watch live TV.

East Dillon is far inferior...not opened for years...football field is brown etc., no money for hats. You can watch it online...I posted the link above

Principal Taylor says they're equal so Julie is pushing the envelope a bit. Devon (who was escorted out of West Dillon by police) and Landry her only friends still in school go there. However, if it's based on geography then how can she do it...it will be a public relations nightmare for Principal Taylor.

It's also the poorer and minority students (somebody in audience said "I don't my kids going to school with that 'element'"- real nice but I think the meeting held true to what would happen IRL)

I don't see the clip for next week online...but I'm sure that's what's going to happen with Riggins...I like his morning bedroom scenes myself Glowie really has to watch this now

From what I read, Saracen's character goes off the show mid way like Smash and Jason did last season. I think Lila and Tyra both get send offs too.

I need new Lion siggies...they still said the mantra! but the other one on the locker room wall is NEVER OUT OF THE FIGHT

And now we know why Landry's college plans were not mentioned last year. I don't remember him being a junior, but I am glad we have him again.

East Dillon is far inferior. The one thing that surprised me and somewhat disappointed me was the shape the school was in and the timeline. They show Coach first showing up in August, which makes no sense to me at all. I realize the last school year didn't end until May/June, but still.

The Dillon/East Dillon thing somewhat bothers me because IMO it goes against the smalltown feel the show originally had.

I loved Tammy this episode as well Wayne, especially at the coin toss. I totally knew that would happen.

JD. He is playing the part well of a rich, spoiled teen. I read we won't see his mother much or at all this season. I wonder if they will explain that.

I agree about Julie pushing the envelope a bit, but for some reason I think the town of Dillon might be fine with it. Eric and Tammy are another story.

I'm surprised that East Dillon is open. The differences between the Panthers and the Lions also shows the impact of the Boosters.

Where will Tim end up living? With Matt? With Buddy Garridy? I LOL'ed at him running around chasing Wade on that golf cart.

The Lions game broke my heart. Those poor players were so beat up. The previews for next week show the team giving up on Eric since he gave up on them at the half. This should be powerful. I can't wait for Tim to hopefully take the place of the Sears coach, even though I thought that was pretty funny. I was certain it would be Mac who went over to East Dillon, but surprised and happy that the other coach did.

And LOL at the Mustard "Puke" nursery. Agree with you about the Tim morning scenes. For Tim Riggins, I can look beyond the hair.

Mike Leach was hilarious. I wonder how much of his scene was scripted and how much was ad libbed.

Tammy, vicious. How long before Joe McCoy learns not to mess with her.

I loved Tammy this episode. But I don't think he will learn. I think he will do something, I just don't know what yet.

Matt is definitely going somewhere, and I'm happy. Being a townie sucks for him.

I'm nervous about Tim Riggins living in that trailer. What is that girl up to? She's like a brunette Tyra.

I was going to say the same thing. That was really the first thing I noticed about her. She has the same body type and facial structure of Tyra. She is even set up with the same problems of Tyra - Potential to succeed is overshadowed by mounting obstacles such as a poor support system at home.

"Episode 3 - Spoilers Ahead"
Posted by samboohoo on 11-14-09 at 10:12 PM
Good ep.

Coach writes a check without telling Tammy and without having the funds to back it up.

Buddy denounces the Dillon Panthers. Go Buddy! Loved him calling Joe McCoy a cancer. I did find the whole meeting interesting with Buddy talking about the 13-year old they need to look at. I doubt Joe will be around once J. D. is gone. He has no real ties to the Dillon Panthers.

Loved the new Lions uniforms. Glad the Lions principal attended the game.

Next week looks sad, very sad. Looks like Matt's final scenes are coming.

my power cut out as Matt started to shovel dirt on his father's grave. What happened after that?

Well, that sucks.

He kept shoveling dirt while his girlfriend looked on. It ended with a camera shot from the grave looking at Matt; and then it covered with dirt.

EP: Man, I cried after Matt viewed his Dad's remains up to the scene where Matt was shoveling the dirt.

me too! that was a tough one for me.

I think Lila gets her swan song first--she just appeared at funeral. Then Tyra and Matt may last the season and leave for Chicago at the end

I did love when Matt slammed the door on JD and his dad

He continued to shovel, took his jacket off and tossed it on the ground. The two workers who were shoveling stopped and left him to it. Julie stood there just watching, I think unsure of just what to do.

I actually have not watched it yet. I usually have to record the Midnight viewing. When I came in, it was recording the 9 p.m. edition, so I flipped it on to make sure it wasn't screwing something else up and caught that.

I must admit, prior to seeing the previous episode (4 I think) and the previews for this, I was terribly afraid it was going to be Grandma Saracen who died. It appears that Matt's story was wrapping up, so I thought she would have to die for him to be free. I don't like that choice of a word here, but it's the one that fits.

"You wanna know something really funny?"
Posted by newsomewayne on 12-17-09 at 12:29 PM
I had sex with your wife.

Riggs had me laughing out loud. Wife shushed me saying I would wake the kids.

I was extremely afraid they would find a gun in that locker.

I guess Applebee's is not sponsoring the show this season since they've been to several restaurants this year and none have been the 'Bee.

How is Riggs going to afford 25 acres of land and just what is he going to do with it?

"RE: You wanna know something really funny?"

Yay. I'm glad someone else is here to talk. I've been reluctant to post.

I still don't like the story with Tim and Becky. She is so young and immature. Plus, he had sex with her mom. LOL about that fight with her dad. I too laughed a lot.

The land. I don't know either Wayne. The only think I can think is that he wants to have big parties. I can't remember if it was Season 2 or 3 when they had that huge party and made all that money.

I too thought they would find the gun. I wasn't sure about that whole storyline, but I'm liking it.

Matt: I wish we had more on where he is and what he's doing. Hopefully at some point he'll make it into the Chicago Art Institute.

I have found another awesome song through FNL: Augustana's "Fire." It's the one Julie played in the car that Matt burned onto the CD.

I love Skeeter!

Yay for the return of Buddy! I've been watching Season 2 on DVD (Thank you Santa), and I miss Buddy. I also miss Mac. He and Coach Taylor were so funny together. Remember their talk about getting "back in the saddle."

Okay, so last night.

The Lions won the Toilet Bowl. Go Lions! I loved the scene with everyone there cheering - even the bad boys. And Vince hanging out with them at the end. I see why Jasmine left with Landry.

Love the scenes with Coach and Baby Gracie.

So Tim wants to buy that land. He was so cute with his mock interview and real interview and putting "State Champs" on his resume. I still hate him and Becky. Yuck!

Re: next week. I don't think Becky is pregnant with Tim's baby - even though that's the way they want us to go for now. I could be wrong, but I don't think it's his. He has been sweet to her and pulling away, not really crossing any line. I wonder if she rebounds to Luke again. Or did something already happen with Luke from their previous night and she's now taking the test because she has missed her period. My only other thought is that they're her mom's, but I doubt it. Mindy is already pregnant. I can't see the writers giving both Riggins boys unplanned fatherhood situations.

We'll see.

The Season 4 Finale was last night and, though I've only watched parts of it, I can tell it was a great finale.

Season 4 starts soon on NBC. At that time, I will ask that we start an "NBC Season 4 Thread" so that we can discuss without the spoilers that are in this one. There will be much to discuss. I can't wait!

NBC starts up on April 30th

I think Season 4 was the best one even over Season 1

The finale was great!

Poor Tim!! I knew he was going to do that though

I can't wait til Season 5!

I think I agree with it, although I had so many moments where I yelled at the TV for things I didn't like.

Also, I am in the middle of watching Season 2 - Again. I don't know if the writers thought of this or could even really do anything about it, but there was another Lions team back then - the team that was displaced because of the tornado and had to come to Dillon for a while.

Better than 2, not sure if I like it more than 3.

You already know that Eric has gone to another school, so this year we are getting new stories and new characters. I liked that, but I also didn't like it.

It's a great season. There is happiness, there is heartbreak, and there is controversy. I am looking forward to the discussion of all of it. I want to start a new thread for it next week - The Season 4 NBC Thread - so that we can talk without having the spoilers that are in here.

I still think it is one of the best written shows on TV. You should enjoy the season even if you don't like some of the stories. There was one part I wasn't sure about, but I'm thinking it's because of something that will be done next season - especially if next season is really the end.
