This looks like a Reward Challenge but only 2 men from each Tribe are seen?

Nu-Nuku: JT & Malcolm (Varner sitting out?)
Nu-Manu: Brad & Tai
Nu-Tavua: Ozzy & Troyzan (Zeke sitting out?)

Is there more to this Reward Challenge?

Followed by Nu-Nuku camp scenes with only Aubry and Michaela (no Sandra?)
Did Nu-Nuku win the Reward?

Yes, I noticed this. Don't tell me the boys and Sandra are off to kill a "random goat", when they don't win the RC?....Michaela looks really sad, and she and Aubry are not part of what is going on. They either lose the challenge, or something is going down that is making Michaela sad? If they kill a goat, that will be way over the top.

The Sneak Peek video confirms this is a Reward Challenge and that only TWO Members of each tribe compete in to win First Reward of Iced Tea, Iced Coffee, ground Coffee, Sugar, and Coffee Beans. Second tribe also wins smaller Reward but it is not shown.

Free range goats, especially if they have something to climb, are very difficult to catch. Obviously the kid was easier, and the mom because of the kid, but the second time they may be too skittish.

I wouldn't be surprised if those goats were never seen again around that camp.

This must be the Immunity Challenge

You can see Troyzan sitting out for Tavua (wonder why they chose him to sit out?) sitting next to Jeff on the sit-out bench but I can't see the sit-out for Nu-Nuku which should be Sandra.

Ozzy has definitely done the ball maze portion before and won over Cochran in South Pacific RI Duel

Sierra also did the ball maze portion but narrowly lost to Mike Holloway.

However this time it is a team challenge and it appears that everyone has to take a turn.

JT and Malcolm talking Sandra. Malcolm has been with Aubry.

Sandra has been with Varner, Michaela, but Michaela wants to keep strength?

Sandra could be in trouble.

With Tai saying there is going to be fireworks tonight, it makes me think that he's going to be seeing it? Red tribe and blue tribe go to TC, Green tribe wins IC?

The picture of Varner and Aubry at the IC looking deflated and concerned is not a good sign for nuNuku. We know that 2 tribes are going to TC. So, they either both have to vote someone off their respective tribe, or the other tribe gets to vote someone off their tribe, or they all vote to eliminate one, (or two) from the collective tribes? Just trying to think of the different combinations of twists that could happen with 2 tribes going to tribal council.

So, either the weakest links of the tribes will be voted off, or perhaps it will be the one perceived to be the greatest asset to the tribes being targeted by the opposite tribes? Trying to think of twists that are new, game changing?

Yes, I was with you thinking about the new twist. I was thinking the two losing tribes could be momentarily merged and vote as one group.

If we do eliminate two players then we'd be left with 15. Would they swap again to 3x5?

Alternate scenario...both tribes vote out a survivor and those survivors are traded to the other tribe. No one is booted.

It would be quite a twist but starting with 20 players they are on a rather tight schedule so can they go one week with no eliminations? Anyway, I want to see torches snuffed, dreams crushed and DAWS sent packing...

That is *exactly* what happened on Episode 5 Day 12 on Australian Survivor Season 3 this past summer. Both tribes attended Tribal Council simultaneously. Both tribes thought they were voting someone out but the person they voted out joined the other tribe and the person swapped to the other tribe was allowed to pick one person from their old tribe to join them!

I think both tribes go to TC together and have to vote off one person total. This could create the tie scenario that Jeff noted in the first episode and push for one person to switch their vote to not have to pick a rock.

I think we go to rocks and someone gets screwed.

Reminder from EW Dalton Ross Q&A with Jeff Probst

Dalton: Looks like we have a Tribal Council double whammy in store next week. What can you tell us about what’s coming up?

Jeff: What I can tell you is that’s not all there is to that twist… it’s another game-changing moment and another amazing episode. Anything else would spoil it.

Transcript:

Jeff: Come on in guys!

Jeff: Nuku and Tuvua tribes getting your first look at the new Mana tribe.

Nuku and Tavua: Oh wow!

Jeff: Caleb voted out at the last Tribal Council.

Andrea: That's crazy (subtitled)

Jeff: All right. You guys ready to get to today's Reward Challenge?

Tribes: Yes! Yeah!

Jeff: Today we are doing something a little different. Only 2 members of each tribe will run this challenge.

Ozzy: Oooh
JT: Okay

Jeff: Here's how it works. The first player will race through a series of obstacles while balancing a ball on the end of a pole. At the end of each leg you'll add more pole making it more difficult. Once you reach the end the next player will use that ball to release a key. That will open a box. You'll use the sand bags inside to knock down nine bamboo targets. First two tribes to finish win reward. Want to know what you're playing for?

Tribes: YEAH! Yes!

Jeff uncovers the First Reward of Ice Tea, Iced Coffee, Chocolate Cookies, Ground Coffee, Sugar, Coffee Beans(?)

Tribes: All right! Yeah! Oooh!

Troyzan: Look at all that. Holy crap!

Jeff: Everything you need for a nice cup of coffee... including Chocolate Cookies!

Tribes: Oooh!

Cirie: Chocolate!
Sandra: Jeff we love you

Jeff begins to uncover the second Reward and the video ends
