"Last night on..."

Hannah is bitter and angry. Confronts Jay. And vows to be ready to play.

In comes the boat to Ika Bula beach.
A message is delivered. They are told to pack in 5 minutes and merge.

Bret was terrified but feels awesome now.
He might trust Will and Jay but definitely wants to get back with Chris.

Then from over at NuTakali...
Adam underlines the upcoming theme change, to a scenario where there are good game players and there are those that out maneuver them. He wants to be part of the latter group.

The boats leave with the two tribes, both heading for Vinaca Beach.

Hannah handled this perfectly. Telling them she would have voted with them had she known kept her in the loop after the merger. I was very impressed because I thought her anxiety wopuld prevent her from lookming so cool. Maybe a player will fake a panic attack in the future!

"Merge"
Posted by tribephyl on 11-09-16 at 09:12 PM
Usual simian screaming as the three tribes meet up at Vinaka beach.
Zeke is feeling utterly thrilled he's made it to the merge.
Michelle thanks God that she's back in the game with people she trusts.

Zeke reads the merge message aloud.

Jay is excited to be back with Will, Michelle, Taylor, Hannah, Bret and Sunday.
Jay calls himself the kingpin.

Bret trusts Chris and Sunday. But seeing Jay bond with the other younguns makes him nervous.

Chris is having trouble adjusting to the merge.
Chris wants to keep with David and Zeke and regain Bret and Sunday.

Zeke is excited because he has both Adam and Hannah in the Nerd Voting Block. Sharing information with each other.
Hannah drops intel about Jay.
Zeke no longer trusts Jay.

"AfterMerge"
Posted by tribephyl on 11-09-16 at 09:22 PM
a.k.a. when the excitement dies off...

Day 21 at Binaka beach.

Adam wanders off and seeks a merge idol.
He goes to treemail, looks up and finds a note.

The Advantage is to "Steal a Reward" from someone who has won the reward. Adams gonna sit on the advantage for awhile.

Taylor is the one who stashes food. His clanging and banging around is noticed by Bret. But Bret Doesn't confront him.

Adam also hears and uses the knowledge to blackmail Taylor into working together. (Aha, hear is the unlikely millenial duo from last weeks tease.)
Adam proposes taking out Will. So that Jay will go back to Taylor.
Taylor doesn't trust him at all.
Adam then reveals that he finds an advantage and what the advantage is.
Taylor is laughing.
He then buries his stash and vows, in confessional, to blindside Adam.

Bret, Ken, Sunday and Chris discuss Taylor's hoarding.
Chris suggests Taylor.
Ken, David, Jessica discuss tossing Taylor out as well.

Tribe, you were smarter than those 13 players but the advantage was so easy to find that Adam didn't even need to decipher the clue. What a waste...

ETA: I thought it was funny that bret didn't want to be the one to say anything but then he was the one that told Jeff about Taylor's theft.

Did anyone else think when Adam found out what the advantage is that "I would never use that." What a way to alienate potential jurors!

Adam is too naive. I don't have hopes for his longevity or the chance to use that advantage!

"RE: AfterMerge"

Absolutely. I wouldn't even want to win an individual reward so stealing one would be completely out of the question. However, I think he had to "sell" it so maybe it wasn't so much naiveté as going along with the interviewer's request. Imagine if they still had a car reward!!

True. But Adam is being naive *coughstupidcough* with his dealings with Taylor and telling him about the advantage!

I'd even cough idiotic!

And his stupidity continues in the preview for next week, where he's cocky and tells Jay's group they're at the bottom. It's too bad because Adam appeared to be a smart player at the beginning but his social game has turned out to be just awful -- e.g., when he was trying to mend fences with Taylor in the past episode but just kept repeating to Taylor that he screwed him over. That was a classic.

Re the new advantage: CTGirl, completely agree with you. Can't imagine it being very useful, except if you could steal an advantage won in an auction or something like that.

On second thought, it could be useful if you want to solidify something. Suppose Player A wins reward and he's about to share it with Player B. If you steal it and share it with Player C instead, you might just gain the vote you need to get rid of A and B. Or you steal from A to share it with B if that's the swing voter.

I see what you're saying, especially in a family reward situation or a cool excursion toward the end where you can talk strategy. But somehow these gestures usually seem to backfire.

It would have to be the right person with good social skills -- not sure Adam could pull this off but we'll see.

"Individual Immunity Challenge"
Posted by tribephyl on 11-09-16 at 09:38 PM
Day 23

Taylor and Jay discuss... Tails drops the Adam bomb.

Zeke overhears the guys talking.

Zeke will want to work the Nerd Alliance angle.

Taylor tells Will. Will is scared. Vows to win immunity.

"TC"
Posted by tribephyl on 11-09-16 at 09:55 PM
Adam congratulates Will.

Will pats himself on his back for being the youngest winner of an individual immunity.

Jay passes around Adam as the name of the first merge bootee.
Michelle thinks it's a stupid idea.

Zeke goes straight to Adam. Tells him that Tails dropped the news to Will.

David needs to target Jay, Taylor or Michelle. He states that Michelle does not have an idol so she would be the safest choice.
The GenXrs have a hard time agreeing on who to target.

Adam goes back to Taylor to try to work a deal.

Taylor is still intent on targeting Adam.

David and Hannah have doubts about Adam.

Hannah confronts Adam and tells him to knock it off, or everyone will vote him out.

Zeke is frustrated with Adam.

Adam is worried, even though he has an idol. Chump or Champ?

@TC

David opens up the conversation with the revelation of Taylor's hoarding.
Chris calls him selfish.
Zeke says you need to have delayed gratification or you will get voted out.
Taylor is clueless.

Adam opens up that he made good relations during the swap.

Again, the word "trust" becomes the focus of TC.

Taylor is NOT worried about tonight's vote.

Adam is VERY worried about tonight's vote.

David is first to vote.

"Next time on..."
Posted by tribephyl on 11-09-16 at 10:03 PM
the battle lines have been drawn.
Taylor can't keep a secret.

Taylor reveals Adam's advantage. He's doing whatever he can to keep the target on Adam.

4 to 9 votes (Taylor, Michelle, Jay and Will being the only Adam votes.)

Michelle says she shouldn't have been so laid back and thinking that she would be okay even if she wasn't involved in the strategizing.
(Like, duh.)

"RE: Next time on..."

Strangely, she was exactly the same way during our on-line game. We were aligned with her but she never did much scrambling during the vote. As long as she knew what we were doing, she went along. She sent so few Private Messages during the voting window that we were sure she was double crossing us but that went on for 3 votes.

"Poor Michelle"

Congrats everyone that picked Michelle to go! Poor thing, always doomed to go out at the merge!
