JP: For our 33rd season, Survivor will put 20 new castaways to the ultimate test to prove which generation has what it takes to outwit, outplay and outlast. It's Survivor: Millennials vs Gen X.

The Millennials, they don't have a clue what their life is gonna be like or what they're doing. They don't have a plan. They certainly haven't been battle tested. If you've never been knocked down, then you don't know how to get up and fight.

I think Twitter is the worst thing ever invented. I mean, I'm on Twitter but I still think it's horrendous. I don't like being tied to my phone. I might not look it but I'm a very outdoorsy person. And there were no participation awards when I was growing up, but honestly, who I am, I really could have used one. I could have used a dozen. Survivor is all about earning it, whereas Millennials feel like they deserve it.

(Haha, they show Joe's night time medivac in the preview, without Joe obviously, but it's funny how late that clip is from.)
The only people who were highlighted last year that didn't go far were Liz and Caleb. And Caleb had the big medivac moment, so that makes sense.

According to Wikipedia, Millennials were born between the early 1980s and 2000 so they will be between 18-34. Gen X were born between early 1960s and early 1980s so they will be between 34-54.
I'm technically a baby boomer on the cusp of being a GenX but I feel no connection whatsoever to the people born post WW2 nor do I identify as a GenX so I expect that these labels will evaporate when we have a tribe swap after a few episodes. The generational attributes are so wide and so vague that I don't think it will matter that much. I raised a millennial and I get along fine with them!
After 32 seasons, they really had to "dig deep" to find a theme!

Looks like enough material there for three or four sit-com pilots. Plus a Tarzan movie, dueling revival meetings, and a satanic coven assembly (the comedy writers).
Tai the Buddhist would have gotten lost in the shuffle this season.

Well... JP is excited. So... for one; probably looking at a male winner and two; this season has at least two firsts. JP admitted that as an upper edged GenXr he did find qualities in them that he adhered to himself AND was completely befuddled at times at the Millenials gameplay. Look for more of the "alliances of convenience" (aka "voting blocks") to start etching away at the GenX advantage they have going into merge.
