Another Shocker, eh?
With the loose usage of hyperbole that this show is famous for, that could mean anything.
But, just for a moment let's consider that the upcoming event will really be a shocker. What else have we got to do?
At this point a surprise boot isn't possible. The nearest thing to a boot shocker could be would be either Aubry or Tai, and neither one of those should shock anybody. I mean, both should he logical choices and at the top of anyone's list.
A medevac shocker? Anyone but Joe would be a genuine shocker. It's hard to imagine a Joe-evac shocking anyone.
They are all pictured alive and well at night and they seem concerned about something, and awaiting a visit from Jeff or the medical crew. But no one is laid out, they all seem fine. Joe is front and center, maybe he's explaining why he decides to leave? A voluntary quitting by an ex FBI guy at this stage of the game would qualify as a shocker.
Did someone else just give up at this late stage? That would jibe with the "indulging reward might wreak havoc on one castaway" if a family visit somehow tips the mental bucket for someone. An emergency back home for someone?
Maybe a Fairplay ploy? That would also be a shocker. A fun shocker.

A Joe medevac would be a shocker if Joe is medevaced and Aubrey was about to go home.

So I was examining the last scene (night vision) of the promo video
Here is a day time shot of the area where they are seated.
Dual trees above Julia(Day) just like they are above Tai(Night)
You can see the bent tree to the Right of Julia(Day) above Cydney(Night)
Shelter in the back between 3 trees with torches behind Jason(Day) and above Michele(Night)
So this is the area where all 5 are sitting at in the Night Vision scene.
In the Night shot Joe is sitting on the big object in this photo making Joe higher than everyone else.
I also noticed in a wider view of the Night Time Medical Evacuation scene you see that there is someone's knee and their finger in the bottom left corner
Does that look like Joe's Knee and Finger?
Also is that tree trunk in the Night Vision photo
This tree trunk to the Right of Joe?

I forgot this was not a spoiler thread. Now people know although there was never any conclusive evidence if who else would be medevaced if any. But the editing has been telling.

Nice job, Sheldor. Pretty much looks like the story is... at RC, everyone stops at one sandbag in and decides to let Joe win the game, even allowing for him to go back into the jungle for additional sacks of sandbags to complete the challenge. He ends up taking Aubry and Cydney on Reward. Leaving Tai and Michele to bond at camp. When the reward trio come back, Tai is apologetic to Aubry for assuming the worst about Michele and wonders if him and Aubry are still okay. Aubry admits things were sketchy, Tai cries, they make up. Meanwhile, Joe continues his decline. The pustulant bump on his knee is REALLY concerning. Joe says his goodbyes and is med-evac'd at night. No IC. No TC.

His left leg just above his outer knee, Joe has a pretty snarly lookin' pustule.
Definitely Joe Medical Evacuation at night.

How nice, they let Joe win. I guess they were looking at his wound and anticipating Joe's evacuation. The medic had probably warned them that if it didn't start to heal he would be gone.
Good thing Jason was not there. I don't think he would have stopped competing.

Wow, that infection above Joe's knee is indeed snarly -- yuch!
So sad that Joe has to leave the game after making it this far…..but very cool that they let him win reward and "every dog has his day."
ETA: So assuming no TC this week, and as with Neal's med-evac, this may have saved Aubry. It also appears no family visit until next week.
Interesting that after all this talk about not wanting to go home with an idol in his pocket, Tai will apparently get to keep it as a souvenir because it's not good at F4, right?

The idol should expire at F5 but we only heard the rule for the voting advantage.

While neither Tai nor Jason nor Neal read the expiration part of the rules of the Hidden Immunity Idol they did show Tai's note on screen and it says:
"The last time you can use the Hidden Immunity Idol is when there are FIVE Survivors remaining in the game."

Or Cydney was going home if Aubrey decided to turn her loose. That hug has to mean something.

Thanks! Oh it didn't dawn on me that they are letting Joe win but sure why not let Joe win.
I thought the other 4 had used up all their bean bags from all their bags and had still not completed the challenge and they couldn't go retrieve the bean bags until everyone had depleted all of their bean bags. However I can't remember any challenge ever running like that!

Agreed, Tai and Aubry appear to make up….but is Tai still scheming to get her?
"Great job!"

All of you have nailed the entire episode! Sure looks like they are waiting for Joe, and that he will indeed win the RC....old dog having his day. Then, he chooses Aubry and Cydney to go on reward, leaving Michele and Tai back at camp to bond.
Just for PHUN, let's see if we can guess who they will decide to boot with Tai's idol....we hear Tai tell Michele, "who do you want to get out?"
Then, when the reward folks return, we see Tai and Aubry going together to get water, is that him apologizing? Just crying like that? Aubry is sympathetic....then he's crying to Cydney, same think? Apologizing? Seems a little over the top, to me.
Then, Joe, sitting front and center has made up his mind....sure looks like a quit dressed up in a medical evacuation to me.....

The ad just appeared on TV, and it hit me just how clearly the promo spells out what's going to happen:
Just when you think you're safe - shows Joe Just when you fear you're not - Tai, Michelle, Cydney have all been targeted Something changes - Tai is shown, and what's changing is that he does not have to use his II Tai cries - Just like he did when Caleb had to leave Shocker - Using an II wouldn't be a shocker. Since Tai, Michelle, Cydney, and Aubry have all been targeted, the only shocker would be Joe leaving. Joe has not been a target, but voting him out wouldn't be a shocker. He has to leave by other means.
"RC Sneak Peek"
Posted by tribephyl on 05-10-16 at 01:08 AM
5 x 5 aka 5 by 5
3 sacks (with 5 sandbags in each) are tied to a tall structure within the "jungle". The castaways run into the jungle, untie their bag (one at a time), run back to their table, dump the sack of sandbags and then toss their sandbags into a series of 5 different "sand pits". Unless they get all 5 in their appropriate pits on the very first try, they ALL will run back into the "jungle" for a remaining sack. Cydney has the speed, she and Aubry are the only ones to get a sandbag into a sandpit in the first round, of course Joe hasn't even come back from the jungle yet...
Simple statistics says... 3 attempts to get 15 sandbags into 5 sandpits. It appears it's not so much the rest of the tribe allows Joe to win as much as it is Joe comes from waaaaay behind and ends up getting more sandbags in his sandpits than any of the women do.
Every Dog has his Day.

I like that explanation better. There is no "Nice-ing" in Survivor.

In the 5x5 Reward Challenge Preview video...
Jeff says: "Then they launch the sandbag and try to get one in *each* of their 5 little sand pits"
Press Images show Aubry(Purple), Cydney(Red), Michele(Blue) and Tai(Orange) all dumping out their first bag
Aubry, Cydney, and Michele tossing and we know from the Sneak Peek that Aubry and Cydney score at least once.
Joe tossing his first 5 sandbags
Joe returning with his second bag of sandbags as Tai is tossing
The Preview video appears to show the second set of sandbags for Michele (Blue) who is just putting one in and it shows Joe (Yellow) has one sandbag in his pit. However this video could from the Dream Team practice.
My hunch is that Aubry, Cydney, Michele, and Tai have launched all 15 sandbags and have NOT put one into each of their 5 sandpits. Jeff tells them they cannot retrieve their missed sandbags until EVERYONE has tossed all 15 sandbags. (New rule to help Joe!)
Joe leaving to retrieve his 3rd bag of sandbags as the other 4 stand on the edge and peer off into the distance to see what pits they still need to complete and where their sandbags are that they need to retrieve.
Joe retrieves his third bag
Joe resumes tossing sandbags from his third bag
Cydney and Michele wait impatiently for Joe to complete tossing all 15 of his sandbags so they can run out and get their sandbags but Joe is in NO HURRY to toss!
Joe puts his last sandbag into his 5th pit. Jeff: JOE WINS!

so it isn't the players who let the old dog have his day, it's production...Somehow, I preferred to think the players were being chivalrous
"RE: RC Sneak Peek"
Posted by Sheldor on 05-10-16 at 08:23 PM
Well the players could have taken advantage of the rule to throw the challenge. Easy enough to hit some sand pits but not all of them and look like you are trying...
I'm sure production didn't like how in San Juan Del Sur the players had determined who would win the chop the rope 3 times challenge and Jeff stopped the challenge and had them just say Missy would win and Jon would go to Exile.
So if all 4 intended to throw the challenge production probably told them to make it look like you are trying.

Maybe the players wouldn't be willing to throw away rewards if they were more valuable and if less people were picked to go. There are some places to visit in Cambodia or big prizes like cars that would encourage the players to participate.

CBS published the above photo gallery of only 13 of the 39 Press Images for Episode 13. Some of their captions are pretty interesting/misleading!
Jeff throws his hands in the air to demonstrate the challenge has started. (Jeff never STARTS a challenge like that!)
Joe gets ready to toss his balls at the target. (Sandbags NOT Balls. Jeff would probably rather says "his balls" though!)
Joe collects his bag before throwing the enclosed balls at the target. (Again those aren't Balls!)
Michele ponders her game play in between challenges. (Really? I don't think there will be another challenge)
There's nothing quite as beautiful as a Cambodian sunrise for the Final 5 castaways. (I guess that could be a sunrise but I think it is more likely a sunset)
