I had an idea for a use for this forum, another fictional round-robin, but no hurry on getting it started, it could wait until after the holidays. The basic concept would be to have a "Survivor: Afghanistan" (or perhaps a "Sufferer: Afghanistan") where the contestants are all basically world-class creeps (no BV posters that's for sure). If people like or don't like the concept, I suppose now is the time to find out. Regardless of the opinions regarding that, the state of the world is such that this forum could become a place of vital activity at any time, so I would prefer that it remain as it is.
Although it's inactive right now, who knows what will happen?
As I understood the reason for separating it from OT: OT is usually light and frivolous, whereas this was darker and to express trauma, and the two moods weren't very compatible.
What with the Golden Gate Bridge being patroled by the National Guard, I don't feel all that secure that we won't have another nasty event, and here's a ready-made forum for coming together.Think of its existence as apotropaic: like taking an umbrella along so it won't rain.
Also I feel like people made some really thoughtful posts here that would be in archives by now on OT. As it is, people can read them easily.
Boot Camp, is that being renewed?

I hope not, but a final decision hasn't been made yet ... apparently, the ratings weren't as dismal as the program was, but they weren't great either.
I don't know ... I see good arguments on both sides. On the one hand, this forum isn't getting much use. On the other hand, OFG makes a good point about the moods of OT and this forum being different.I was wondering about the cornertime forum. Do you think we should unlock it since there are several of us writing interviews? I see both pros and cons in doing this. It would be easier to find new interviews, and they wouldn't have to be moved over there. But on the other hand, the forum could get messy and your summary message wouldn't stay on top. Just a thought...
Actually, the Cornertime forum isn't locked -- it's moderated. You can post in it, but a moderator has to release the post before it appears on the board. I figured that I'd leave the new Cornertimes in OT until they drop back to page 5, then move them over to the Cornertime forum -- but I'm willing to consider other alternatives.
I would say that, while the forum isn't relevant today, there are ongoing events and fall-out from 9-11 that make this forum useful. Perhaps a name change to reflect the expanded purpose would be more appropriate...War on Terror forum?
