Looks to be the semi-annual staple "Jail Break", where they'll be tying sticks together to help reach the key rings then unlock the three locks to open the door.

Yup! Most recently won by Ozzy over Christine in S23 South Pacific RI Duel and Matt over Francesca in S22 Redemption Island RI Duel

NO males in the duel this time. I would guess LauraM to be the big favorite to win her FIFTH RI Duel. Should be interesting to see if Tina competes or lets Katie come in ahead of her.

FWIW, since this is likely to be the last RI, Tina competing or not competing is not really the point. Katie has to beat Laura.

Also, I thought that the IC involved Survivor Trivia of some sort? This IC looks like it's a race to get to the puzzle bags and then solve the puzzle. I would think that Hayden or Tyson would have the best chance to win this, or Monica. Don't think Gervase will do to well if that's deep water...?

I thought this was the final RI challenge and the winner would be returning to the game making 6 players. So if this is the IC, how come there are just the 5 (Tyson, gervase, hayden, ciera, monica)?

Is it possible that it's next week and whoever comes back from RI is immediately voted out?

Excellent point. And a problem to be solved.

So this IC is held without an RI returnee, meaning either that the returnee gets a pass for this challenge (never happened before), or (as you suggest) an IC and a TC is held after the RI challenge and the returnee is booted (it's never been done like this before, but it very well could be what happens) or this IC is held before the RI returnee returns, and presumably before the final RI challenge, (which I think is more likely but has never happened before either).

I think I'm missing something too.

I can't believe they'd bring them back and not give them a chance at immunity. It would be an automatic boot. Can't they come back in the first hour of next weeks show? and what the hell are they doing at the IC, fishing?

In Redemption Island AND South Pacific the Finale Sunday started with 4 people and immediately had the LAST RI Duel with Andrea in RI and Ozzy in SP rejoining the merged tribe to make a second Final 5.

Ashely won the 2nd F5 IC in RI and they voted out Andrea.
Ozzy won the 2nd F5 IC in SP and they voted out Rick.

I'm sure it will be the same this season too. Sunday 12/15 will start with 4 players on Kasama and 3 players on RI and immediately go to final RI Duel with winner returning to Kasama to make 2nd F5 and the other 2 go to the jury.

Followed by F5(2nd) IC, F5(2nd) TC, F4 IC, F4 TC. Probably no time for Fallen Comrades (which I like and will miss).

The only Love ones on RI are Tina/Katie so I think LauraM wins and Tina/Katie (Loved Ones) face off for their final shot in the game (meaning for one of them the game is over).

In that IC it looks like they are pulling a rope through a float. That rope wraps around the pole on the platform floating in the middle. Looks like it might be attached to the round ball like floats at the shore.

I believe the blocks are there solely to separate words.
And in fact have seen a prior puzzle challenge to corroborate my thoughts. But can't remember from what season. (I've had a couple of beers.)

Jeff: Tina immediately barking out advice. It's very simple. You have some pieces of wood and some twine. You have to fashion a pole long enough to get out there to reach three keys.
Ciera: Good job, Mom.
Probst: Not only does your stick have to be long enough, it has to be strong enough that you can stick it out there and it won't crumble. Laura has her stick put together already. Right out of the gate she's going for it. Will it be long enough? It is. She has the first key. Can she get it back through that gate?

In the last photo there of the RI duel, you can see that Laura is employing a new strategy. She is going after two keys at once before bringing them back. Even if her sticks break, this is a wise move, IMO. The keys would be so much closer to gather should the sticks break. Looks to me like Laura will be our winner, if so more than likely Katie will be our loser.

Actually Flowerpower if you watch the video this cap

is while LauraM's pole is falling down and she is about to drop the first key ring. The second key ring is on the second post but appears in front of the key on LauraM's pole from the camera angle. LauraM only has ONE set of keys on her pole.

Thanks Sheldor! I appreciate that....when I looked at it, I could see that Laura was dropping her sticks, but I couldn't distinguish if she had one or two keys on the end...I thought I could be a good strategy, but I bet Jiffy wouldn't allow for her to do it that way anyway...
