"Survivor #26: Maybe-Fans vs. Not-Favorites Episode #4 East Coast Spoiler Thread "

Please keep all airtime discussion of tonight's episode on this thread until midnight EST so that the West Coast may ponder how EPMB intends to change this series in order to better reflect his Bible success. Because really, there's just so much to do. For starters, he has to cast extreme fundamentalists, and it's not as if he's even come close to doing that before. Then he has to change the challenges in order to inflict some Old Testament torture, and do you know how few countries allow people to kill their own firstborn as part of a competition? If we're going Catholic, he should consider allowing voting to determine who's perpetually infallible: let's just figure that's going to take a lot of work. Finding paradises so that the inhabitants can corrupt them? As if he's got any prior experience. And finally, he has to present the world with a version of reality constructed from whole cloth, tiny fragments of what was once evidence, and truly vicious editing removing any trace of actual events in order to replace it with justifications for his own viewpoint while systematically denying that any other could ever have merit.

How he's ever going to find that skill in himself, I'll never know.

The recap focused on how weak Laura is, I really think she is going home tonight. Plus Shamar as the med evac

At Fans camp, everything upside down, strong were on the bottom, alliance of the weak on top, couldn't control Shamar, threatens to quit but Sherri and Laura convince him to stay

At Favs everything is working out, Malc and Corrine find the HII, At the IC Laura struggled, and fans lost 2nd challenge in a row, facing TC, Laura convinced RTeynold that the tribe was voting Shamar again, but for the 2nd TC in a row, Shamar was spared and Eddie and Reynold were duped

Night, Gota, night 7, hear rattle snake...Eddie says where are we going from here...Sheri says yes...Eddie in conf: Hope was the prettiest one here, that's why she got voted out...Reynold says you made me look like an idiot, to Laura, by telling me you were voting Shamar(right in front of all of them, Reynold is arguing with them as well says he doesn't like any of them...In conf Reynold says that Eddie and I, our backs are against the wall. I have the HII but Eddie could be screwed...

see them go and lay down somewhere else, they hate the rest of their tribe...

Reynold spells out the plan - he knows Eddie will go out next, then he'll be targeted. Translation: This is not what happens.

Bikal, day 8: See Phillip, as the specialist, Napoleaon knew he couldn't pay his troops so he came up with names of honor for them, so I came up with a name for Brandon...he officially invites him into Stealth R Us, your name is the conqueror....every challenge he's been in you have conquered...

Br says that he is lying to Phillip...
Phil is giving Eric an name...

Andrea doesn't like it, he's giving everyone not in our alliance a name, what is he gonna do now, give Brenda a name...

See Phil giving Brenda a name now...Serenity

Phil says you can't have an operation of this magnitude without the specialist...
Cut to RC:

Come on in...Favorites getting look at new Fan tribe, Hope is out...RC: each tribe select 2 tribe members to be placed on platforms, must transfer them to a very small platform first tribe to get all 8 on the platform will win. A local bushman will come to your camp and show you how to live, will bring a chicken and some veggies...use him to better your life

Cochran is sitting out

Go: The get all 3 planks untied then must transfer the person Julia and Brenda....going to next platform, transfer them from one platform to the next...dead even....to 2 nd platform, dead even, both tribes transferring 2 people, Laura is a little shaky, Andrea and Brenda are doing really well, Fav's taking the lead...hear Laura yelling, come on...then they all swim to 3rd platform, Phil up first then Malc, and Shamar says get on top of me....this is very closeCorrine is the last one....Faves win, they had to hold it for 5 seconds...Shamar thought they they had won, yelled "that's what I am talking about, Phil told him "we WON"

Fans, it's a close effort but came up short...Reynold in conf: says that Laura slowed us dfown again, let's just vote her off now and be done with it!"

Bikal, in the rain we see the native coming...by boat, and Cochran gets the conf about it....Mal says they are so excited, his name is python, didn't mess around, he's 60 years old...and to cook rice, put it in the bamboo and get water and balance over the fire...the fire finishes it to cook...Malc face all lit up, he's like a philipino Gollub....Then cochroan, he functions by saying enigmatic things that nobody understands, but to his credit he made an ubelievable feast for us...He had veggies too, home improvement came along with it, he is fixing their shelter, it boosted the feeling at our tribe in conf says Andrea

Cochran says the girls loved him, kissed him on the cheek, if I tried fooling around like that with them they would think I was a predator...

Gota: Shamar says that he thought they won, Michael in cof was so mad, sons o b!tches, I was so mad....Reynold to Eddie, he just stays in the shelter all day long, Eddie says that he lays in the shelter for 19 hours, such a pain in this tribe...He says that he is not leaving, he's going to get the rice..., Laura says, hey, be my slave and I'll stay

His terms, I will stay if you serve me in the shack, get rice at least once a day...Laura in conf: Shamar can talk about being a veteran, but when it comes down to it, he's a big baby

Eddie in conf:With shamar it's always something, a piece of sand fell in his eye and he scratched it...now everyone is pissed at him and realizes that he has to go, which is great for me and Reynold

They are all seen talking poorly about lazy Shamar...

Shamar is truly the worst Survivor ever. I think I would take Osten over Shamar. Didn't they have sand in Iraq?

Loved when his tribe said goodbye. It was so obvious that they were glad he was gone. I'm just glad they didn't dance.

I agree with you Byoffer and especially because he was supposed to be a fan of the show. I know the conditions are 20 times worse then people expect even fans but you would also think they would know that by now.

Self-inflicted injury. That eye did look pretty nasty, though. I was afraid it would be something much worse, possibly life-threatening, but I can see how this would require a specialist, a hospital bed, and lots of nursing. Much better than going to the Ponderosa.

This tribe is going to be SOOOOO happy when Shamar shoves off....just sayin'

At night thunder and lightening, see Gota and the rats, Eddie says the rat is up here right now, hurricane now the rats says Reynolds...We had a crappy night, rats were crawling on us, it's a hard game now it's even harder because we believe that Shamar is going to quit, he can't get to a happpy place, and I am like, who can around here...(that was Michael in conf)

Shamar: yesterday a piece of sand got in my eye, I am worried about it, I am not thi nking about the game, just want my eye fixed...here comes Jeff, guys...Shamar you don't look so good...wow, it's really swollen....they are going to look inside his eye...They want to rule out that he doesn't have a scratch on his cornea, she is putting in an orange dye

Jeff says you have had some lows, people have attacked you (is JEFF CRAZY???)

He has a divot on his eye, they want him OUT of the game...

Jeff says how is that laying with you? Do you feel like you are letting yourself down, losing a big force in your tribe, but they are also losing a number. Shamar says, he doesn't want to lose his vision, doesn't want to risk it....tribe comes in to say goodbuy...they all look at each other. Shamar says that he knows they really care about his well being...wishes them luck

I was in the marine corp 4 years, 2 years in Iraq, never got hurt...they all wave....Reynold says I thought he just didn't want to play, but it was something serious, but now, I do think he was lazy and I am glad he's gone, now that he is goine, I am afraid they are going to knock off me and Eddie first....one of us is going home (to Eddie)j

Come on in to IC ` Shamar is no longer in the game due to an eye injury

Immunity is back up for grabs, swim out to platform, climb up to top, break a tile and retrieve keys, to open a chest, use sand bag inside to knock off the blocks, first to win, unfolds the flag....sit outs are Corrine and Dawn

Sherrie is off first, and Erik, Erik is crawling across the planks, Erik up first, early lead, and Erik has the key, headsback, and Sherri clips the edge and doesn't release the key....Brandon now attacking platforms very fast...now Sherri has the key and going back, Br has the key and is going back, now Matt in the water for fans with Brenda, Matt has the 2nd key and Brenda has the 3rd key, and Brenda has lapped Matt, now Andrea and Eddie, Eddie pulling forward, and has the 3rd key, and Andrea has the 4th, Now Julia is going, and Malcolm is going...Julia has 4th key, and Malcolm has the 5th, and they are winning, and Michael has to go....Favs are working on the locks, Phil and Cochran work on the locks, 5 keys, 3 locks, Michael is swimming back with last key, and favs have all locks undone, Phillip is throwing for the favs...Reynold and Laura are un doing the locks...Laura having a tough time...Reynold has gotten all the locks off, Reynold is tossing, Reynold is on a roll, Phillip down to 4 blocks left, Reynold is coming back and catching up, Phil has knocked down som, favs down to 2, fans have 6, down to 5, Phillip wins immunity for the favs...See Reynold get mad, Favs it's coming back again!
See Sherri's face, then Eddie, then Michael

Congrats Arnold_Lorax2! Good sleuthing. I thought the single photo of Julia in the Press Images meant she was going home. Laura was pretty invisible until the show started but she did have the HUGE bump in confessionals last week.

Thank you guys I just had a feeling we always get a week where they go out of there way to hide the boot. After they gave us the evac I knew the rest couldn't be that easy.

Kudos, Arnold!

I had an inkling that Laura could be going as well - I outlined the case for her going in the editing thread - but I thought it'd more likely be an evacuation for her than a vote out.

The evidence at first seemed to suggest a Bikal tribal council, so that's what I stubbornly stuck to right up to the start of this episode.

Previews showing Reynold doing so well at IC - classic misdirection, and most of us fell for it.

Voting out Laura was a logical thing to do, which is exactly why I thought it wouldn't happen.

"Great job, Arnold!"

You called it, Arnold! Way to go! This is a great season when we all get duped like that...need to really pay attention, and that is exactly what you did! Well done!

Congrats, Arnold. Despite Jiffy's Brandon tease for next week, it wasn't until the press images came out and there was practically nothing from Camp Gota that I became committed to a Bikal Tribal. Oh well, they got me this week, good for them.

Thing #2 I never thought I'd say...I've got to give Laura some credit. She did argue her case well from a strategy standpoint.

"So, who's it gonna be?"
Posted by Flowerpower on 03-06-13 at 09:54 PM
Wonder who it will be? I would think that Laura is in trouble...but, she seems to be Sherri's number 2? Will Matt and Michael jump to Eddie and Reynold? Suspense! Love it!

Post IC Drama:

Gota day 10, that challenge was no joke...Reybnold was amazing...they all note that he was...Matt says that we are losing 2 people in one day. Eddie says that we have huge targets on our backs, and Matt and Michael walk down the trail....Reynold says they are going to blind side me becasue I have an idol...you are not dead yet, and we see Laura...Matt says that you, Reynold and Eddi are the only reason that we were close in that challenge...we have to win challenges and Eddie and Reynold are our 2 strongest people we need to keep them...we need to vote off Laura, she is so weak, it's a bummer...Michael says that he trust Laura more than he trusts Reynold and Eddie....so don't know what to do....Matt goes to Reynold, we want to vote off Laura because we need strength...Reynold says he doesn't know what to believe

Reynold says la ti da, he's lied to me before, Matt tells him: if you feel threatened than play the idol, but I am going to vote Laura.

Laura says that Reynold and Eddie are going to vote for me. See Sherri talking with Mtt. the only thing that I can do is to trust my alliance. Matt tells Sherri that we need to win challenges... and it's because of Reynold and Eddie....Sherri is not on board with it, it feels like the alliance is falling apart...Sherri says that they keep talking muscle...to Julie.

Michael in conf: says tonight we need to keep the tribe strong and win challenges, or keep the alliance strong...I will go with my gut and hope it works out...

AT TC:

Matt says there is less tension around camp but it sucks that he's gone for challenges. Sherri says that she misses Shamar as part of the alliance

Reynold has voted against the tribe the first 3 tC's , there is a strong 5 alliance here, but without Eddie and I, your chances of winning the challenges are very slim

Laura says are our alliances or them going to get us farther in the game.

The physical strength votes are not much, we have had 10 days to trust each other in our alliances. Reynold says are you prioritizing winning or losing?

Sherri says that we are still losing with them...but Eddie says if we get rid of our weakest players...they say Sherri is one of the weakest, julia is the strongest girl, Laura is our weakest.

Laura says numbers could get jumbled, are Eddie and Reynold going to be loyal to our tribe if we get shuffled, or are they going to jump ship?

Eddie says if I am still here in 20 minutes, I'll feel differently about this tribe, tonight it's the make or break...Eddie votes Laura...you are the weakest link and it's kill or be killed. See Laura vote Reynold, you are too dangerous.

See Eddie and Reynold....

Vote tally:

Reynold is playing the idol

Laura
Laura
Reynold
Laura
5th person voted out, Laura

See Reynold smile...good luck guys

Jeff: Well you broke form and voted somebody from the majority alliance out, maybe it was a make or break move, time to go....

"RE: So, who's it gonna be?"
Posted by Bebo on 03-06-13 at 09:57 PM
So how quickly will we get the tribal shuffle? I think the inclusion of Laura's comment about jumbles was telling. Is there a tribal shuffle, and do the minority find themselves in a much better position?

"RE: So, who's it gonna be?"
Posted by Arnold_Lorax2 on 03-06-13 at 09:59 PM
And next week we get to see Brandon flip his lid. 12 days with no medicine can make any bipolar young man flip out. He shoulda never come back. It's gonna get ugly.

Bravo, Laura. Bravo!

Only you could make Chet look like Ozzy in the challenges.

And speaking of comparisons between the first FvF and this FvF season, nice to see that Erik still hasn't learned how to jump well, going splat on those steps.

There has been some press that Episode 5 is CRAZY and someone goes wild....got to be Brandon Hantz....geeez...

Next time on Survivor: See cobra

Brandon at the Fans...Jeff: every season there is one moment.... see Brandon and he says: I am the author of my fate, buddy, Jiffy: that NO one will ever forget, see Andrea hugging Brenda, see Brandon spilling all the rice, Looks like he is going after Phillip who is walking away down the beach....then knocking down the chairs, "now vote me off B!tch"!

What a WHACK JOB, he's running amok at camp....

every one is really down and the girls are crying, I think....why do they have disturbed people on this show?

"RE: Next time on Survivor....:"
Posted by Bebo on 03-06-13 at 10:10 PM
OK, all we're being shown in the preview is psycho Brandon. So what aren't they telling us?

My first question after seeing the preview is, how will the producers handle the destruction of Bikal's food supply? They can't be left to suffer because of Brandon's actions, but they can't be given an unfair advantage over Gota because of him either.

I'm leaning toward tribal shuffle. That way, the new tribes can both be given new provisions to make up for what Brandon trashes.

"RE: Next time on Survivor....:"
Posted by Estee on 03-07-13 at 09:59 AM
The fair move might be to replace exactly what he destroyed, but fairness left the game a long time ago. At least it wasn't RussHell -- the tribe would have been ordered to pick the rice out of the sand one grain at a time and kiss his feet before depositing it in the vessel. And that's one kiss per grain.

I'll guess either partial replacement, "Suffer, victims", or a hastily-scheduled food Reward. I also wouldn't be surprised by "We'll resupply you, but we're taking (insert necessary camp item here) because it's your fault for letting this happen. Not our fault for casting him twice. Yours. Wanna see your contract again? Too late."

"The longshot possibility."
Posted by Estee on 03-06-13 at 10:11 PM
why do they have disturbed people on this show?

Because they think it's what the viewers want to see.

Here's a fun scenario to consider:

Brandon destroys the food supply. (We saw him dumping the rice.) Ain't no rule: he's fine.

Brandon wrecks the shelter. (Part of it was being torn apart.) Ain't no rule: he's golden.

Brandon trashes the Reward items. (Chairs were assaulted.) Ain't no rule: he's a ratings diamond.

Erik attempts to physically restrain Brandon from continuing.

Is a rule: no physical conflict. Erik is thrown out of the game.

"RE: The longshot possibility."
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 03-06-13 at 10:40 PM
It was the headlock that Andrea put on Brandon earlier in the episode, right after Phillip gave him the nickname "Conqueror" ... he prolly realized that everyone back home would see that and give him a hard time about getting whipped by a girl so that's why he went nuts.

"Whew!"
Posted by dabo on 03-06-13 at 10:35 PM
At least we don't have to watch him poop.

Just be a party pooper. What a poopyhead.
