"Double Boots and Triple Duels?"
Posted by Krautboy on 10-29-11 at 06:54 PM
Before the start of S23 Jeff told us there would not be any multiple duels, but looking at the 14 Episode schedule, it is impossible to get there without having two episodes with double TC's and two episodes with triple duels. While it might be possible to have two seperate duels in each of two of the episodes, the logistics of getting that done in 45 minutes seems cumbersome.
I expect that we will have two episodes with triple duels...the difference this season will most likely be that only the winner stays on Redemption Island.
Using TDT's calendar as a guide, here is how it might work:
I think EP9 wwill have a double TC, with two Savaii probably as the two votees. EP10 would start with the three Savaii on Redemtion Island competing in a triple duel, sending two Savaii to become the first jurors.
Then EP10 would have a second double TC with two more players (probably Savaii) getting voted out. The EP11 duel will be the second 3-way duel with the winner sending two more to the jury.
If the Upolu pagong Savaii and Ozzy does not keep winning Immunity, EP 11 will end with the last Savaii to be voted out. Then, if we are on the same schedule as S22, EP12 would start with a duel (family members may be present)and will probably include a family visit for the final six contestants still in the game.
EP12, Ep13, would go back to one-on-one duels with EP14 starting with the final duel and the winner returning to the game.
There may be other scenarios that make the numbers work, but this seems to be the simplest...

Next ep. will probably be duel, return, merge, IC, TC. The ep. after that would start with only 1 person on RI, so they could do 2 IC's and 2 TC's on that ep., then a 3 player duel, winner only survives, to start the next ep.. That gets rid of 1 extra person. Then all you'd need is a double boot or a quit somewhere along the line and you're good.

Before we get too far off tangent...
Before the start of S23 Jeff told us there would not be any multiple duelsJP only promised 2 things with regards to RI. It's returning for 23 and duels (or truels) would not result in multiple people staying on RI. IOW, only 1st place would stay.
While a double boot is possible in ep 9, I almost feel like they should wait till right before F5, because then the truel would be a good play-off between the last three boots (of the F8) and one of them comes back in.
I'll tell you this, if it is a double boot in Ep9, they have a Loooong road ahead of them trying to get back in the game.

Thanks for the clarification Tribe...last season Matt was able to stay in the game because he didn't lose the "truel", this season the eventual returnee will have to WIN to stay alive...

If we assume that Upolu comes out on top in numbers after the merge TC and vote out Keith and then proceed to Pagong from there, here's what the calendar would look like with names plugged in...In this scenario we will also assume that Ozzy wins several multi-player duels, once he gets to Redemption Island.>Using TDT's calendar as a guide,
>here is how it might
>work:
EP8: Merge, Keith sent to Redemption Island
>I think EP9 will have a
>double TC, with two Savaii
>probably as the two votees.
EP9: Double TC, Ozzy ans Jim to Redemption Island
>EP10 would start with the
>three Savaii on Redemtion Island
>competing in a triple duel,
>sending two Savaii to become
>the first jurors.
EP10: Triple Duel, Ozzy wins, Jim and Keith first two jurors
>Then EP10 would have a second
>double TC with two more
>players (probably Savaii) getting voted
>out.
EP10: Double TC, Whitney and Dawn sent to Redemption Island.
The EP11 duel will
>be the second 3-way duel
>with the winner sending two
>more to the jury.
EP11: Triple Duel, Ozzy wins, Whitney and Dawn join the jury, (now four bitter Savaii).
>If the Upolu pagong Savaii and
>Ozzy does not keep winning
>Immunity, EP 11 will end
>with the last Savaii to
>be voted out.
EP11: TC, Cochrane sent to Redemption Island to face a betrayed Savaii tribemate...
>Then, if
>we are on the same
>schedule as S22, EP12 would
>start with a duel (family
>members may be present)and will
>probably include a family visit
>for the final six contestants
>still in the game.
EP12: Duel, Ozzy Crushes Cochrane and sends him to the jury, now 5 Savaii and zero Upolu. Family visit and TC where the first Upolu goes to Redemption. It's not likely that Edna would win Individual Immunity, so she would probably be the first Upolu to go, based on Rumors of Coach's betrayal of her.

>EP12, Ep13 and EP14 would go back to

It's not likely that Edna would win Individual Immunity, so she would probably be the first Upolu to go, based on Rumors of Coach's betrayal of her.Edna is 6th on her tribe and has been from the outset. How is Coach voting her out 6th a betrayal of her since he has never promised her anything more than the spot she started with? More likely she gets the boot before a Savaii, maybe even a couple of them.
I'm not sure who came first hosting games, you or Tribe, but you are both nefarious! - CTGirl

I've decided to categorize certain things as MaxxFactors, these are things that are simply cosmetic embellishments.

It could be possible that they have a two votes. One in which a person is sent to RI, and one in which they give the tribe the ability to vote someone out without the chance of redemption. Or, in a multi-person vote, they could hold a fire building challenge to see who goes to RI and who is eliminated at TC. That would mean that there are no three person challenges on RI...VOTE NAKED 2004
