Songs from their most memorable year to tell a story, so cue the sob stories, they are all dancing from the heart.

"Drink of the night"

Drink of the night

Brandy for a rainy autumn day

snack of the night

Hearty, spicy black bean soup with cheese, onions, sour cream on the side.

Yummy, I love black bean soup.

Dad died in 2003. Foxtrot. Fly Me To The Moon Frank Sinatra.

So how is that a 2003 song? Maybe I don't understand the theme.

I found the dance shorts under the sheer skirt distracting. Stairs of doom in the center, they run up to the top with a moon in the screen behind them.

Len. You put the Dash into Kardassian.
Bruno. Getting the upper hand.
Carrie. You are strict to the program. Make progress every week.

10 votes per phone line, etc.

8~8~8 for 24 out of 30

He has gotten so much better. I reluctantly find myself rooting for him - that is until the Kardashian women get on camera!

1990, the year Hold On came out.

Dancing to Hold On, the Rumba.

"RE: Chynna and Tony"
Posted by Snidget on 10-03-11 at 08:21 PM
Nice split move at the begining, but a lot of awkward moments in the middle for me.

Bruno. You are a smoldering siren. So expressive.
Carrie Ann. Gave us more. Never heard that song the way I heard it.
Len. Dancing like that you will be here for weeks.

Tomorrow Night. Mary J. Blige. Macy Stars of Dance Len Goodman and Estelle performing.

8~9~9 26 out of 30.

Bruno just likes to hear himself talk too much - & tries to hard.
I'm tired of him; glad I have it taped so I can FF thru him every time.

"Chaz and Lacey"

This year, happier than he has ever been. A Sonny Bono Song.

Dancing the Rumba to Laugh at Me.

"RE: Chaz and Lacey"

That was touching. Sad and touching.

"RE: Chaz and Lacey"

Carrie Ann. I'm so impressed by your courage. Wasn't your best.
Len. That was your best dance I've seen you do. Come back and give it your all.
Tom asks what did they do with Len, all the positivity.
Bruno. Endearing quality about you. Rumba is difficult.

6~6~6 18 out of 30 highest score so far.

I wanted to like it, but he is difficult to watch. He looks like he is in so much pain.

Chaz flat out sucked. He's gotta go.

"Kristin and Mark"

Crazy in Love, 2005, when deciding to go into entertainment.

Dancing the Samba.

"RE: Kristin and Mark"

That's the song that means a lot to you? Well that explains your clumping around the dance floor dazed and confused.

But doesn't every Mom dream of the day her little girl decides to be a DAW?

Was that Jay Cutler in the audience?

My, she has achieved so much in her life!

"RE: Kristin and Mark"
Posted by Snidget on 10-03-11 at 08:45 PM
Shoulder thing at the beginning was odd. When Mark can whip his short hair better than you can...

Len. The Beyonce stuff side by side isn't my cup of tea. Only about 20% Other 80% was fabulous.

Bruno. You fast moving Devil Woman. Keep going that way.

Carrie Ann. pretty big shoes to fill, did pretty darn good. Doing some difficult choreography.

Way overscored and I am beginning wonder what incriminating photos Mark has of the judges. Seriously, the dudes on SNL did the Beyonce moves better than she did.

"Carson and Anna"
Posted by Snidget on 10-03-11 at 08:51 PM
Dancing the Tango.

It's My Life, 2003, when Queer Eye for the Straight Guy came out. Great thing about the show was to feel comfortable and proud of who he is.

"RE: Carson and Anna"
Posted by whimsey on 10-03-11 at 08:55 PM
Well, that was entertaining. There was definite improvement, but there was quite a bit of room for improvement. You gotta love his commitment and energy.

The Arm fighting thing did not work, but the boy can high kick with the best of them. He gets her shoe at the end!!!

Bruno. That was insanely brilliant.
Len scoots away from Bruno.
Carrie Ann. I love you. You brought Drama, fun, sexy and technique.
Len. Going to be quite positive, but I don't need a kiss. Put the Boy in flam-boy-ant.

Scores after the Break.

Talks to him about Len's worst dances are the most fun.

8~7~8 for 23 out of 30.

Year he was injured, felt he'd have been better off if he had died. Mom said people will be in your life for who you are.

If You Are Reading This. Dancing the Rumba.

Very Pretty Rumba.
Crowd cheers for a long time.

Carrie Ann. Heroes are ordinary people who do extraordinary things. Most profound honest dances.

Len. Every season someone does a dance that is unexpected. Could have been more musical through the arms. Wonderful performance.

Bruno. Really are a hero and a source of inspiration. Always did the skimming the sand thing I talk about.

I was wondering how they would score something that you can't quantify. A 10 doesn't really cover the impact. Good scores, though.

The lump in my throat came out as a sob. How can you not root for him? Plus he can dance.

2007, couldn't breathe, emergency C-section. First song sang to them was Moon River.

Dancing after the Break.

Yawn. I'm not buying the re-branding of Nancy Grace. Nope.

"RE: Nancy and Tristan"
Posted by Snidget on 10-03-11 at 09:20 PM
Dancing the Waltz.

She looked uncomfortable for a lot of that.

Len. Straight into the dance, you have to try to get a bit better posture, show the emotion and did that well.

Bruno. Like a Mother's Embrace. Link all the arm movements.

Carrie Ann. I was transported. Like a life action lullaby.

"Ricki and Derek"
Posted by Snidget on 10-03-11 at 09:27 PM
Last Year. Bad Divorce, house burned down. Met Christian and never felt loved like she does with him. Never say never.

Dancing the Rumba to Gravity.

Vince would have loved this show, they say what all the songs are!

"RE: Ricki and Derek"

Quite lovely. Loved the dress, but could have used another inch and a half. Lovely.

"RE: Ricki and Derek"
Posted by Snidget on 10-03-11 at 09:31 PM
Some awkwardness early on, but got better as it went along.

Bruno. Every step as expressive as every word in that poem. Actress/Dancer at her best.

Carrie Ann. Ricki Lake is on fire. Sensual. Looking fierce and in love.

Len. Derek, great routine. Ricki, danced it so well.

Julianne returns to dance next Tuesday.

9~9~9 27 out of 30.

Caught bits and pieces of the show. I liked JR's Rumba much better than Ricki's. Stories aside. I thought his was just more beautiful.

"Hope and Maks"

2011. World Cup Finals. When things don't go your way. For the first time realized it was about the journey.

Tonight by Enrique Inglesias. Dancing the Cha Cha Cha.

"RE: Hope and Maks"
Posted by whimsey on 10-03-11 at 09:41 PM
Oh dear. Bless the wardrobe dept.! They keep trying to girl her up and she will have none of it. The dance: I felt like She was the man and Maks was the woman. And that is a stretch, let me tell ya.

"RE: Hope and Maks"
Posted by Snidget on 10-03-11 at 09:42 PM
Duck Face pout is NOT sexy. The occasional smile was much better.

Carrie Ann. Really strong dancer, but I want to work on your walk and a bit more fluidity in the hands.

Len. A little bit provocative for me. A little sharper action. Best dance so far.

Bruno. The sexy minx is out of the cage. Like a panther. Man-eater.

Maks does the sexy girl walk over to the stairs. *thud*

8~8~8 24 out of 30.

"David and Kym"

Settled on this last year. Really hard period, marriage fell apart, numbed with alcohol. Has had him take a hard look at himself and so he can be there for his daughter.

Ooh Child, Dancing the Rumba.

Start out on a park bench. Nice job, he dances more than a lot of male stars have in the past.

Len. Mix of motion and emotion.

Bruno. Sensitivity and achingly romantic.

Carrie Ann. Very nice comeback. Pure and Honest.

Scores after the break.

Can anyone remind me what time the voting ended last night? I thought I had an hour after it was over, but I called in at 10:25pm Pacific time and it said that the voting was over in my time zone...

They said 30 minutes after the show ends, but you can vote during the show.

Thanks!
I was watching in on TiVo and I guess it was later than I thought when I called. Probably 10:31. I hope the two I tried to vote for didn't get eliminated.
