"Who do you think will "win" Joe Millionare??? (after only one ep)"

I never watched the bachelor so I can't compare this to it, but I am loving this show. It is so funny to see the girls fight. Anyways, after the first show, is there a clear choice or an idea of who you think will "win" the show?

My vote is for Melissa, the big smile girl. She is the one girl who he continually harped on and they didn't portray her in a negative light in "this" episode. I am picking her to win.

Who do you think is going to win and why?

It'd better not be the Jerri wanna-be! The editing won't allow her to be the winner anyway. I'd have to take a look again at who are the girls left before deciding who could be a winner as I'm still trying to sort out which is which.

I disagree with the number that is booted out in the first two episodes. 8 out in the first and then 7 out in the second, and I presume one out in each of the next four episodes before the finale -- to me, would have been better to zap 4, 4, 4, 4 and then 1, 1 and have a finale with two left. Gives more girls a chance to work their way into Evan's pants - picking 12 out of 20 is hard solely based on a ballroom dance and yakfest.

From the editing last night, it seems clear that the two Melissa's (the model and the brunette with the smile) and Heidi seem to be significant players in the storyline --- I mean after 20-30 minutes, did anyone doubt they'd make it to the Final 12?

Remember, this is from the Temptation Island people... I expect the editing to be anything but good (just like the horrible photography in the girl's original PR photos.)

I'm kind of rooting for Zora to win...

Everything she's said has been so positive and upbeat. She just seems like one of the only real genuine women on the show.

Yes... she's my wife's favourite on the show as well. Genuine both in appearance and in the way she talks.

Yeah, Zora is who I'm rooting for also, she seemed very genuine and if she was all about the money, she wouldn't have waited till every other girl had a dress to take the last one left (that didn't fit)
I was so happy they got her a new dress!

I think I'm rooting for Zora too. She doesn't put out the entitlement vibe like some of the other ones do.

Wow, I'm surprised most everyone gravitated toward Zora as well... It feels weird to be in the majority in something.

Well, the one girl I liked right off the bat, Mandi, didn't even make the cut, so I'll go with Zora and to all those of you that liked her I'm sorry, she'll probably go in the next cut since I pick her.

Just two small rants, who are the morons that decided to have a person who's never ridden a horse try to make a grand entrance on horseback! I felt sorry for the poor guy, you could tell he almost became unseated on the way out, we have pleasure horses that are like puppy dogs but even they can get a bit uppity when headed back to the barn, I'm sure he had his hands full.

And two, exactly what part is Alex McLeod playing?

Mandy was the 12th one to get a necklace. The ones not chosen were: Amy, Andrea, Erica, Gretchen, Jen, Katy, Mary, and Melissa W.

Me? The Mole? Ya think? Well, I AM Evil.

Ok, who was the little cute girl with the flipped up flyaway hair. Blonde, blue eyed. I thought he said he didn't pick Mandy because he just didn't feel a connection.

Katy.

I know, it's hard to keep them apart - I was having a nightmare trying to take notes for my summary!

Ah yes. That would be her. I'd say good luck with the summary but you always do an outstanding job!

Badly.

Did anyone else see this worst case of blatant "voice over" ever??? Come on, twice Alex trots out to talk to the girls, twice we barely see her mouth open and then they cut to never-ending shots of the girls listening intently and smiling to her obvious in-studio voiceover of the rest of the scene.

WORST.HOSTING.EVER -- too bad she won't be eligible until the 2004 Blowies, she missed the cutoff by 6 days.

Exactly. I had wondered if the "butler" part wasn't suppose to have been hers too but she'd done such a bad job they'd edited her out and stuck him in.

I know, the butler thing is just so wierd -- Alex is "the host" but the DAMN BUTLER gets more hosting time than she does! I heard this woman was a diva that drove the Trading Places producers crazy until they let her go, my guess would be that she apparently did the same here and they replaced some of her scenes with those of the butler.

Notice she never introduced herself to the audience like most other hosts do and like the butler did -- she simply wandered out halfway through the show and said "I'm Alex McLeod" to the women. I also haven't heard of her doing a single bit of pre-show publicity for the program. Something tells me she sucked and the producers did everything they could do to re-edit the show and minimize her role.

I never understood the logic of her selection anyways... Alex??? ...come on, what, Bob Vila wasn't available? Even Steve Santagati from Bachelorettes In Alaska would have made more sense (but apparently Steve is busy with FOX's "Man vs Beast" show -- sounds like a winner Steve!

Alex was horrible. She was very difficult to understand. I was never a big fan of hers when she was on TS, however, there were lots of other people on other BBs who were very disappointed when she left. My guess is FOX wanted to capitalize on her previous veiwing audience.

As to who will win, I was hoping for the central ohio hometown girl, Melissa W., but I think she asked to many questions about "Joe's" money. At this point I am rooting for the girl who got the last dress, long black hair. There are a couple of girls who seemed more genuine than the rest.

It will be interesting.

Part of me wants to see Heidi win just so we can see her knocked over when she finds out he doesn't have millions. It would serve her right.

But I doubt she will win. She will be around for awhile. But probably won't win.

I'm rooting for Zora too!

Watching the opening credits, they seemed to show a lot of Mojo. I hope that doens't mean anything. I don't think she's very attractive AT ALL! Hopefully, Evan will get his wish sometime and see some of them without their makeup.

Sign me up for Zora too. She seemed like the nicest of them all. Good thing that tangerine question didn't mess her up too much.

Melissa. Customer Service Rep. Minneapolis, MN. Age 24.

The girl with the big smile. She got all giggly about feeling butterflies in her stomach and said "I live for butterflies." She was cute.

I also like Zora and hope she does well, but I really like Melissa "smile" Girl. She looked great, but not just great, but Real if you know what I mean. No nipped/tucked/starved thing going on. Not really "girl next door" but a Real Person who looks good. She is also nice and I also liked the Butterfly comments.

As to how she will react to the news I don't know. We shall see.

"What about Alison?"
Posted by waterbug on 01-07-03 at 07:13 PM
Besides Zora, Alison was one of the only women who seemed to have a grip on reality during the dress-hogging melee. As I read her lips, she seemed to be saying that the whole set-up was "horsesh*t" and she was pretty calm during the grab-fest.

Later, when given the necklace, she seemed emotional -- quite touched, even. I think there might be more there than we saw this first ep.

BTW, there seemed to be plenty of spoilers in the early minutes of the show. Did anyone get vidcaps?

Funny you should ask...

I recorded the whole thing, (the only problem is that due to our local snow storm I had to get the analog feed instead of the digital signal) -- I'll try and post some caps later this week.

No vidcaps here, but once I get done my summary, I do plan to go back over that part of the tape to see what I can dig out.

Like the majority of people here, Zora is one of my favorites, but I also like Melissa M. I think Melissa (with the big smile) will win, but then again, since I mentioned her name here, she probably won't....
Has anyone thought about doing a PTTE or anti-executee vote for this show?

I've been thinking of doing a "SurvivorBlows Tribe, Let's Vote" type of thread about two days before the next show to have us all vote on who we think will be the 7 that get booted. Then again each ep afterwards on who the bootee will be.

"ZORA"
Posted by johnthemod on 01-11-03 at 05:43 PM
Like most people here, I'm rooting for Zora all the way. She was the only one I really cared about getting a necklace, and my friends and I were all really nervous that she wouldn't get picked. If she hadn't, I'm pretty sure the first episode of Joe Millionaire would've been my last to watch. I also like smiley Melissa, but the ONLY girl I'm rooting for is:
ZORA ZORA ZORA (and what a damn cool name that is too)
