Time for another season of Dancing With The Stars..

This season we have 11 Stars, and tonight's the first of two performance nights before we have our first elimination next Tuesday on March 29th...

Unless TMZ has somee song spoilers hidden away, we won't get the luxury of easy titles this season... which means unless they tell me, I'm on my own... and I stink at getting the correct title at times... and having to decipher titles for the Worst Band In All the Land never helps...

Other than that, keep it in this thread until the west coast stops either clawing off their ears or gouging their eyes... which might be around 1am Eastern...

... but then again that was season 2, and WWE wasn't that social media savvy at that time... outside of their website, that is...

I hope they got his number right, though, or else it could be embarrasing...

I wish I could have paid more attention to that. I tried to watch it closely, I really did. But -- I pretty much skipped last season. And you know the truth about building tolerance: if you don't maintain exposure, it slips.

This was my first exposure to the band in months.

*whimper*

Why did they have to give KKKristy a day job?

"Wendy/Tony"

She hosts a TON of shows on TV: Talk shows, game shows, and many more...

Poor Tony, has he recovered from Kate yet?

She's being too timid in practice... and gets emotional, as well...

That literally was a walk in the park... she walked through the whole thing... Fear overtook her, and the judges' comments reflect that... That was an egg.

"RE: Wendy/Tony"

I've watched her show and she is very out there and uninhibited, so I was disappointed.

Tony was on her show a couple of weeks ago and he seems like he is having a good time with her. He said Audrina was good but just very reserved and never connected. He said that what we saw with Kate was accurate.

Didn't Len describe that as
"dumplings boiling over" ?

"The judges were right,"
Posted by Estee on 03-21-11 at 08:23 PM
The word that kept echoing throughout the performance: timid. And it was followed by fives. (Len's four was only a mild surprise.) That wasn't her out there -- not her TV personality. This was a scared fawn looking for any excuse to dart back into the underbrush. The woman is a walking shout and Tony became the first person to find a mute button.

She'd better rally her fanbase. I don't think anyone else is going under a 14 tonight -- this could easily be two and gone.

Little more going on there, don'tcha think?

He should've been on the show on Season 2, but a pre-show injury prevented him from participating. His father replaced him that season. His father is Master P, one of the most infamous Stars ever to be on that dance floor...

This is her 5th season on the show, and she wants that Mirror Ball Trophy...

He's got more moves than his father, at least... and he doesn't want to show his feminine side... He wants to get further along than his dad somehow did...

What a gorgeous couple! When do the dating rumors start?

...why is the floor pulsing Kryptonite?

Well, he doesn't have to worry about being a downslope from his father. He won't have VFTW backing him as a legacy either -- but he should be able to pull in enough votes to survive for a while.

He is in great shape for 54 and looks like he's kept up the endurance well.

He really needs to work on those shoulders especially in hold. Did better solo than when in hold.

I typed that BEFORE Bruno agreed with me...I'm skeered now.

16? Seriously? I thought he was going to compete with Wendy. There were times when the referees would have been forced to look away so they wouldn't call him for traveling. 'Walking' would have been unavoidable. And was.

Put it this way: he's no contender...

*closes eyes* Migawd. You can take the girl off the stripper pole... And what was with that scoring? The judges talked a 7 and gave out 6s! The Holly Ceiling is back!

She has no internal censor. She is not what some people would consider as 'clean'. She doesn't really care what the voters think of her. And the problem will ultimately be what those voters are thinking right now: don't.

Remember where Pamela finished in Week #1? I hear echoes.

I actually thought this was a lot better than I expected. She definitely made a lot of timing mistakes, and they did look like they almost stumbled once, but that routine was FAST and full of moves. To me it was probably the most difficult routine anyone attempted (though again I cant totally disagree with scores due to the mistakes made), but she definitely has the potential to do well in the future. I do worry about getting enough votes though... I really hope she does well because I always enjoy watching her comments .

The season of the one-note introduction is starting to annoy me.

Well, he had fun with it. I'm not entirely sure he completely knew what he was doing at any point, I don't know why the screaming never stopped during his rehearsal footage, and I'm sure he would have gone for a chair at the first sign of trouble. But he was definitely having fun.

People aren't landing on his head every half-hour. That currently qualifies as 'fun'.

Lol that is definitely a very close comparison. Almost all his jokes were exactly like what I'd expect from Kenny Mayne. I actually didn't think his dancing was worse than Wendy's though. Yes he was stiff as a board, but he at least seemed to be moving a little bit. I think he'll get a higher score on the jive, though probably nothing higher than 5-6 .

Most known for her role on Cheers and various movie roles, but she's had weight issues in the past that now complicates things for her... and she's 60 to boot...

The Bad Boy of the Ballroom has his hands full with this one, literally and figuratively...

Dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Forget You

They start off on the stage before moving to the dance floor proper...

Well done! I didn't realize she is 60!

Love her!!! She's so much fun and looks amazing for 60...guess it helps to be young at heart...

Wow, I am really surprised by how good that was, and how well she performed that.

It is also nice to see a 60 year old with a face that looks good but not like she's trying to be 22. I dunno if she's had any work, but so few women her age in Hollywood still look like themselves anymore.

I think the best way to describe the judge's reactions is: *jawdrop*

Scores: 8-7-8 for a total of 23, which puts them in 2nd!

It was an impressive first effort -- I just don't know if it was 23 worth of impressive. It feels like they overscored her by a couple of points -- given the number of seasons the show has tried to sign her, they're not ready to give her up too quickly.

Kirstie is entertaining. Maks is hot. They danced well. I am happy.

I think she is so uninhibited that it really helped her. She looks good and I think she can handle Maxs. He might even have fun working with someone who is not 22 and a size 2.

Unihibited, yes, but also self confident. Very refreshing and quite the contrast to Bristol last season who looked the same size, but lacked the confidence.

So did he slip Florence the tongue, or the other way around?

The biggest surprise to me seeing this dance was how quickly and smoothly she seemed to be able to move. When I saw the package and just looking at her, I expected a much more wendy-like performance , especially at her age. But she got out there and moved. She was definitely extremely tired at the end but I think she'll build more stamina as the season goes.

looking forward to the season.

"Recap"
Posted by realworld10 on 03-22-11 at 11:56 AM
So - just to recap
Chelsea/Mark - better than I thought - but Mark please shut up
Wendy/Tony - Wendy needs to loosen up
Hines/Kym - love Kym, can't get past the thug on the football field
Petra/Dmitry - Petra is so sweet and tough to fight through that injury, Dmitry is just yum
Romeo/Chelsie - more about Chelsie than the celeb - he did okay - but she needs to back off - it's about HIM not HER
Sugar Ray/Anna - Anna gets another stiff athlete - Kurt had a huge fan base - we'll see how far he can go
Kendra/Louis - Kendra please dial down the hoochie coochie - it does not work on the ballroom dance floor
Ralph/Karina - YAY Ralph - that was awesome - so smooth and graceful
Chris/Cheryl - Cheryl gets another athlete - he is so bulky it will hard for him to be graceful on the dance floor
Mike/Lacey - yipes - that was hard to watch - at least Lacey won't go too far
Kirstie/Maksim - loved it, loved it, loved it - I had read that Kirstie was very nervous - but she really rocked it

How's my recap?

I just wanted to add that I really, really, really dislike Chelsie Hightower. In case you were wondering.

A couple of the men really knew how to move - and much more than just walking around.

Why is it that the men who have the most to learn have pros who use them for a prop? The dance around them, all the twisting & booty shaking & the guy takes a few steps and maybe a turn or 2.
The female pros have to make the men do more; being a prop isn't good enough.

I don't see the male pros having the women contestants just stand there while they dance around them....

In my opinion the best dancer was the first dancer....Chelsea. Second best Kirstie.

Don't know why Ralph got those high scores...he had some funny arm action and in my opinion was not very fluent.

Chelsea got a bum draw. No one is talking about her because they compared her to the final three dancers from last season....and no one knows her yet.

Kirstie looked to me to be the favorite to win. Not only was she very good but she is 60 and over-weight. She keeps that up she is the winner for sure. Only problem was she seemed out of breath after her dance.

The talk show host will go home first. I just don't see the elderly sympathy/cute vote going his way. Plus they do not know who he is. Wendy will survive, the worst dancer usually does the first week.

Protests over Chris Brown performing at the results show.

Sounds like he needs to go back to anger management.

So if you can prove you were hit by falling glass shards while walking outside the GMA building this morning, have we got a lawsuit for you!

http://edition.cnn.com/2011/SHOWBIZ/03/22/new.york.chris.brown/

Not appearing in this article: he apparently tore off his shirt somewhere in the building, left any jacket behind, and exited into a cold Manhattan morning wearing a pair of pants and a glower. Because, you know, showing you're willing to freeze like an idiot is just so threatening.

Wendy's already been publicly thrilled to be in the building next Tuesday so she can be a potential eyewitness. Presumably from a safe distance.
