Please keep all sigpic-free discussion concerning the sale of the chicken, the behind-his-back roasting of the chicken, the dismemberment of the chicken's alliance, the TC frying of the chicken, and the ultimate disposal of said chicken when everyone finally realizes it was rotten from Day One on contained to this thread until midnight EDT or the Tyson Corporation issues us a full refund or a replacement chicken, whichever comes first.

(As far as Coach goes, we're suing Spalding.)

Whatever Coach loves, he kills.

Lucky for us, he loves himself very much.

Sierra spoke with Coach, then it was another moment of Coach spiel, but she's still toast, extra crispy.....

I love it when they show Coach salivating over a reward and then he doesn't win it. I hope it happens every week until he gets booted.

Besides the Coach spielfest, we get the Tyson bullying Sierra scene....

Reward:

4 on 4 team event. 2 members go out to find boards that have puzzle bottoms and holes on them. The puzzle bottoms are for the initial placements. After all 4 boards are back, they have to arrange the boards so that they can see 7 vowels. They then use those 7 vowels with 7 consonants (and punctuation) that are already on a puzzle board to spell out a 4 word message (You've won a feast!)

JT, Erinn, Debbie, Tyson for Red
Coach, Stephen, Sierra, Taj for Black

Red team wins reward, black team never got to the puzzle......

Red chooses Stephen to head to the Exile Sandbox (the idea is to block Sierra out from a possible re-hidden HII.....)

Jeff: 'Coach, all that lie experience not helping you out here.'

BTW, I took that meditation as a chance to (once I got past the nausea of the idea) inspect his body. What scars?

And gee, if he can bench 300lbs, why not just bring all the boards back at once?

"RE: Minor edit."

Because apparently he can't do anything that he didn't do in the Amazon.

So he had like some flesh eating muscle wasting disease to prepare him for Survivor, because he didn't look like that when this season started.

or is that 300 special coach pounds?

And now we have a demonstration of no-contact fight dancing.

In the second lucky moment of the night, Coach did not get to see that and cannot claim he invented it in front of the actual performers. (It'll have to wait for camp.)

Reward feast celebration: they head to a village that also hosts people that will have a capoeira dance demonstration....

They eat very fast and very much, and when the demonstartion starts, they get pulled into the middle to do some moves themselves. They feel fine during the dancing but once they got back to the seats? Erinn: *barf*

Exile sandbox: Stephen is heading to the sandbox hoping that there's a clue to a new idol...... unfortunately, he got clue #7 to Tree Mail as the hiding place of the HIIs...... sarcasm abounds from Stephen saying that he's glad that he's out here and not on the Reward with all that food and such......

Back to Forza where it seems that it seems that it's round 2 of treatin Sierra like a punching bag, but Erinn does confessional that Sierra is right about something: Erinn can possibly turn the game around with an alliance change....... she hated to admit it, since she doesn't like Sierra, though......

Really unfortunate they didn't blur out Debbie this time around -- they did it last week on the raft, why not now?

And Erinn barfs up her feast after a little dancing.

"Segment 3"
Posted by vince3 on 04-23-09 at 07:38 PM
Round 3 of Sierra as a punching bag is upon us, and it's time for Coach to impart his wisdom of the Samurai (death before dishonor)

Immunity Challenge (in the rain)

Everybody's cold.....

Survivor Shuffleboard:

Everyone has 3 pucks to shoot onto a topographical board. Closest to the "X" wins.

Twist: Skip immunity to eat pizza! (Only if you're confident)
Show a rock to eat.....

Stephen, JT, and Coach decide to eat pizza..... Tyson grumbles about that..... They only have as long as the challenge to eat pizza.....

The rain is affecting the surface area, in fact it's pooling on the board.....

Taj ends up putting Tyson's first puck that he used to block the road closest to the X. Sierra then puts Tyson even closer after he does it again!

Tyson has the 2 closest pucks now, Sierra is up. She knocks both pucks and they stop her pucks momentum...... Sierra's now the closest! Debbie then knocks Sierra out of the spot!

Debbie wins Immunity! crud.

The feathers were from the immunity necklace. Debbie probably took a few out to give to Coach. She gave him one of her earings so that he could wear it as a cross.

Debbie/Tyson/Coach are happy about Debbie's win, especially since Sierra was dancing around with just Debbie left to shoot because she thought that she could win that immunity.....

Stephen, Taj, Erinn discuss the possibility of taking out Tyson, since he doesn't have immunity..... Stephen informs JT about it, and he's considering it, but he's not sure betraying the Warrior Alliance.....

Warrior Alliance: Tyson, Coach, Stephen, JT, and Debbie, I think......

Sierra slightly boo-hoos about last time's Brendan blindside, and Tyson's overconfidence abounds since it's such a slam dunk that Sierra's gonna get snuffed........

Sierra tries to paint a bull's-eye on Tyson, and Jeff continues to paint it a little as he hands TC over to Coach for another Dragon Slayer moment.....

Coach wants a "best of the best final battle" (Never been done, never will happen, especially since they voted out Brendan....)

Tyson votes Sierra, then Taj, Coach voting Sierra (Dragon's bride), Debbie, Stephen, Sierra voting Tyson (you're a jerk!) and finally Erinn. JT was somewhere in there, but I lost him.....

Da Votes: Sierra, Tyson, Sierra, Sierra, Tyson, Tyson, Tyson (and he's finally nervous!), 2nd member of the jury is Tyson!

Sierra is happily relieved, as JT gives Stephen a brief smile.

Loved Taj's crossed eyes when Coach was talking.

This blindside will only be only second to Coach's.

"Holy carp!"

Next week...

Coach: "I thought you said you were going to be loyal?"

Sierra: "You wrote my name down last night."

Coach: "Sierra, I'm going to ask you again. Where is your loyalty right now?"

That might be the most outrageous statement made by Coach all game!

Y'do realize how much ground that covers, right?

"RE: Holy carp!"
Posted by tjcrew on 04-23-09 at 08:06 PM
Somehow, when Stephen read the HII clue, I thought that they had put the idol that Brendan took with him back in the same hiding place and that Sierra was going to find it. Obviously that didn't happen, but is it possible that they just put it back?

"RE: Holy carp!"
Posted by Estee on 04-23-09 at 08:13 PM
I had the same thought (at least as far the idol being back in place), but the production staff generally isn't quite that lazy. Then again, given this season, they could just follow in the footsteps of the casting department...

At this point, I'm fairly sure that idol is out of the game -- but not 100% certain.

"RE: Holy carp!"
Posted by vince3 on 04-23-09 at 08:17 PM
We won't know for certain unless they film Stephen going back to Tree Mail checking to make sure.......

"RE: Holy carp!"
Posted by dabo on 04-23-09 at 11:25 PM
I can't believe none of them in the know didn't go check the treemail hideyhole for a new idol. I really would have preferred anything else but another of the Ben "Mental" morning routines. Stephen couldn't speculate that maybe there's another hideyhole in the treemail noggin?

Off with their heads! That seems to be this season's central theme.

"RE: Holy carp!"
Posted by michel on 04-23-09 at 09:42 PM
I may be speaking too soon because we haven't seen next week's episode but wouldn't it be typical of a man like Coach to attack a woman when, in reality, it was JT who wasn't loyal to him?

Great episode indeed except Tyson's quarky remarks will be missed. Hopefully, not as bad as when Jerri left the Outback.

The only thing I didn't like was all the whiny stuff from Sierra. All her "wouldn't you expect me to fight?" almost made me sick. If she wanted to fight, going to Stephen and Taj would have been putting up a fight. She had to talk to her ex-EA alliance mate but all we saw was Sierra begging to Coach, Tyson and Debbie over ad nauseam.

"RE: Survivor #18 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by kingfish on 04-24-09 at 12:43 PM
She was saying that in response to Coach's advice that she just quiet down and accept the inevitable. Really? Inevitable?

I have a hard time faulting her for that. And Tyson was just being his usual #####-self. What was that remark he made about her, "..her boyfriend can't be very interesting."? I guess my question would be, based on his edit, "What interesting girl/guy friend would put up with him?"

I'd have to agree that Tyson was very quarky (I like the word). He put me off much more than Sierra did.

I am also surprised Stephen thought it not necessary to check for Brendan's HI. He must know something we don't. It was awesome seeing Tyson blindsided. The warrior is looking a bit weak and puny at the moment (and his hair dye is growing out). Stephen is holding the reigns at the moment, I just hope no-one realizes it too soon, cause I think he's brilliant!

Thank you God. I can now continue watching Survivor. I don't think I could take another dissapointment like last week, what with Tyson and 'Coach's' smarmy sickening smirks. Seeing 'Coach' lose out on the reward, and Tyson TOTALLY obliterated has rekindled my faith. Oh happy day!

I just don't know what's wrong with me - I still get a kick out of watching jerks get what they deserve. That was so much fun.

A pretty hard and fast rule for Survivor: when you start thinking that you're smarter than everyone else, or at least start saying it out loud, you're going home.

The reverse blindside for Sierra was new. Who would guess something new at tribal council after all these years?

"RE: Survivor #18 Episode #9 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by CTgirl on 04-24-09 at 07:50 AM
The reverse blindside was great but it shows you what everyone thinks of Sierra - they didn't even clue her in. They just used her vote. She could be in just as much trouble again this week.

And that right there might just kick the JT and Stephen alliance in the #####. She knows by them not letting her know that she's just a pawn to them. So when Benji, Errin and Debbie approach her to join up with them again she just might.

eta - another thought. Made me wonder if the feelings towards Sierra (and I'm not sure why people have such animosity towards her) is a big reason why the Cross-tribe Alliance failed.

I think Erinn is clearly with JT/Stephen/Taj right now, although she's pretty much fourth in either alliance.

She could be in just as much trouble again this week.

I think she is. It seemed odd to me too that they wouldn't recruit her in the Tyson blindside plan. True they didn't *need* her vote, but still it would have been a nice gesture to get her jury vote later.

But Stephen and JT both hate her. In their minds they just took a detour to get rid of IC threat Tyson and Sierra is still next.

Don't forget, coach and Debbie were also caught in the Blindside. They are undoubtedly going to be targets, as will Erin if she doesn't do the smart thing.

Why waste a boot on Sierra, when she doesn't mean anything anymore? If the thinking that went into the Tyson boots holds for another week, they will go after a threat (challenge or a F2).

I have to agree. Seeing Tyson/Coach/Debbie continue to advance in the game was demoralizing at best. I was wondering how I'd have anyone at all to root for in the final 3.

Tyson has such a huge ego. I wonder if it's an extension of his success as a bike racer. A lot of competitive athletes have enormous egos...
