But does it have a rumble seat?

perfect timing here - the thunderstorms that passed thru mid-afternoon - on their way to Snidget's area - had another storm system sneaking up behind that one.
Yep, just in time to interfere with Survivor.

Sydney is worried that she would be next up on the chopping block if Jalapao end up going back to TC. Joe assures her that since they trust her more than Taj, especially after Taj's outbursts last time, that she'd be safe.

I think everyone on that tribe is now living for the moment they can vote Mr. Wingnut off.

Which makes them plus approximately 17,000,000 people.

I. Want. To. Hit. Him. So. Badly.

Angst? Angst is what he's going to have after they get rid of him. Unless you're in Palau, wasting food is never a trivial subject!

Yes, he's predictable. He's predictably a jerk.

Funny. Erinn was nowhere to be seen the entire sequence with Coach and his merry gang.

Could this have been an out-of-sequence insertion with Erinn away from camp (i.e. at Exile Island)? This was a span of time that lasted for more than a few minutes, right through a spell of rainfall and a gathering under the shelter.

Odd.

I'd believe it -- but let's wait on ExI before we move it up to the Major Theory level.

ETA: There you go. It is now a Major Theory.

Except Timbits won the reward and some food to go with their timbits, so there wouldn't have been a need to sauté some beans -- unless it's a two-day vacation on Exile.

As another storm was heading into town, Coach started up a pot of beans.

Brendan complains to the camera and says the title quote.

After the storm is done, they inspect the still cooking pot of beans.....

Half of the beans are burnt to the bottom of the pot. Sierra complains, Coach says mea culpa, especially since he likes his beans well-done.

Back at Jalapao, they're also cooking beans, but seem to be doing a better job....

Taj wants to tell JT that she has the HII..... because he voted for Spencer instead of her. Stephen wants to control the information that JT gets about Taj...... because he's worried that he'd become a 5th wheel.

'Place fifteen rolls of duct tape over Taj's mouth.'

We are throwing ceramic pigs into rope barricades in order to get a barbecue. These pigs do not have Benji's face on them. But give someone five minutes with Photoshop and we'll see what we can do.

Jeff: 'Tribe with the most pigs wins!'

Sierra: *looks at Benji* 'We're done!'

"Reward"
Posted by vince3 on 04-02-09 at 07:19 PM
Each tribe has 5 minutes to construct an obstacle to prevent the opposing tribe to toss ceramic pigs through in the second phase.

In that second phase, the tribes got 10 minutes to get the pigs through the obstacles to their scoring bench.

After getting through the obstacles, there is one final toss to a person by the scoring bench....

Waterfall Excursion with and Afternoon BBQ: Hamburger with all the fixings....

Timbira sits out Erinn......

Jalapao was trailing badly at one point, but Tyson started struggling on his tosses to Coach.

After 10 minutes, Timbira won with a last second pig 14-13!

Timbira picks Joe to go to Exile. Joe chooses Erinn to come with him.

"RE: Reward"
Posted by jbug on 04-03-09 at 08:11 AM
Notice that coach didn't take a position where he'd actually have to have any skill at tossing the pigs thru the obstacle. All he had to do was catch them and lob them over to Sierra.
And? he missed catching a couple that made it thru.
I was so hoping he'd throw a few short to Sierra.

Being a coach - for the life of me I can't remember which sport - one would think the guy would be good at something - anything?

Could Benji be any more of a jerk? Of course he could! Wait five minutes!

Would this be a really great time for Erinn to switch over? Just in the name of getting away from the bean smell?

"What arrogance!"

Coach: It's too bad that Erinn isn't able to share in the reward, but I feel she's lucky to be still in the game.

I really went him gone either now or in the Gretchen position. MB will love listening to his self-serving 'Who here is the most ready to worship me for my vote?' jury speech. The audience may feel differently.

After Bob's masterpiece from last season, that fake idol of Taj's was decidedly amateurish. If anyone wants to believe that thing could actually be a legit idol, they deserve to get their azzes thrown out of the game.

But why didn't Brendan & Sierra think about Erinn returning with a clue and looking for the HII?
And? why didn't we see Erinn looking for the HII? (oh, that belongs in the gufu thread I guess).

Maybe we should have known when they were only showing this with and about Jalapow that they'd be the ones going to TC.

And? why didn't we see Erinn looking for the HII? (oh, that belongs in the gufu thread I guess).

She figured out right away that it was back at camp. She didn't get back to camp until after the IC, and they never show any winning-tribe footage after the IC.

They're gonna let these morons actually cook their food? Good luck.

By the looks of the confessionals they get a bathrobe for after their waterfall dip.

Ironically, they show them enjoying the waterfall after they ate....... Cramps anyone?

Exile Sandbox:

Oh! Erinn got the clue jar (and a blur)

She realizes that there might be two idols as well, and might consider aligning with Joe in another Cross-Tribe alliance.....

There are enough clues to spell out that Tree Mail was the holding spot for the HII......

Stephen and Taj decide to make a fake HII so that Joe doesn't raise the alarm that the real one is already out in play..... She takes the real one out of Stepen's pants pocket so that she can make a decent facsimilie...... She puts it back in Stephen's bag

JT discovers the HII accidentally when he went looking for an empty bag. Woops.

Taj finally tells him that she has the real one.

This might be why Stephen and JT plot to send Taj out.....

Do the two idiots at Exile really believe that no one has found the idol back at camp??? It's not like the same two people were sent to Exile over and over again...seriously not the sharpest sticks in the bunch.

"Immunity"
Posted by vince3 on 04-02-09 at 07:40 PM
LAST EDITED ON 04-02-09 AT 07:41 PM (EST)

I guess Erinn figured she'd rather take her chances doing a double immunity cross-tribe alliance than Mutiny....

Target shooting to release puzzle pieces, each tile is behind the next.

After three bags are claimed, two other people do the puzzle.

It's up to the tribe to determine when they can switch shooters......

Debbie sits out for Timbira

Tyson starts shooting for Timbira, JT for Jalapao

When JT hit his target, he hit high, and since there is sand between the tiles, which helped reveal the other targets, he limited how fast the sand poured out...... it came up crucial when he had to break the 3rd tile.....

Brendan/Erinn is doing the puzzle for Timbira. Joe/Stpehen did the puzzle for Jalapao.

Timbira wins immunity, Jeffy asks Coach how does it feel, knowing that there is no chance of being eliminated? Feels great! (even with the knives poised over his back.....)

"All things considered:"
Posted by Estee on 04-02-09 at 07:41 PM
That might not have been the worst time for Erinn to defect. If she could have talked her new group into not voting her off in case of a loss and going in even, or accepting her for majority after Immunity...

Just a thought. It's an incredibly risky play, but that could have been the moment to make it.

"RE: All things considered:"

I think this one from each tribe thing at Exile does seem to have the potential to shake things up at the merge, but we'll see if it plays out or not.

None of them mention it.

Joe has an infected leg. He tells them that Erinn got the clue and told her nothing.

With the guise of a water run, Joe gets the fake HII.

While Taj was out, Sydnew was told that they're voting out Taj..... Whether or not they're really gonna is another story....

JT/Stephen would rather have the HII around, which is technically Taj's, to try to turn the numbers around. They try to convince Joe stating that Taj's had time with Brendan/Sierra.

Joe is thinking of passing off his fake HII to Sydney to save her.

Tribal Council:

They're figuring that since Taj gave Stephen the HII to hold, it's really Stephen's to use, maybe........ JT doesn't know what he's doing yet.....

They're partially hoping/assuming that the merge is upcoming.

Jeff drops a hint that since Taj's been in Exile soo long, she might have the HII......

They're pleading their individual cases, with Jiffy leading them. Sydney says, since I haven't been in Exile, I'm loyal, Taj's not! (dig a hole dig a hole....)

Time to vote: Joe (Taj), Sydney, Taj (Sydney), Stephen, and finally JT.

Anyone wanna play an HII? Nope.

Da Votes: Sydney, Taj, Taj, Sydney, Sydney! Sydney voted out 3-2

That's certainly possible -- we were shown Joe looking at his injury, so (a) he's a medivac or (b) the editors or the merged tribemates are using his leg injury as an excuse to boot him, perhaps as soon as next week.

Survivors get injured all the time, but the editors show us certain injuries for a reason.

There was absolutely no reason to show that if he isn't the one to get evacuated. It had nothing to do with anything last night. It had to be a glimmer of something coming down the pike.
