Next week they'll have 4 dances, one of which is the Freestyle.

Brandy/Maks's Argentine Tango!

I think that was better than last night, her shoulders and neck weren't locked in that odd stiff stressed out position.

They had the hooker. Now they just needed the cigarette and glass of whiskey for authenticity. Right? *runs away*

Derek/Cheryl will dance the Jive to "Still Rock and Roll To Me"

The concept is they're at a 50's drive in movie theatre...

I'm getting the vibe that Brandy is going home based on the interview packages, her back-stage interview, encore dance, etc. Hope I'm wrong!

I'm on the Left Coast and instead of waiting for the show to air, I read this forum (ok lurk) every week waiting patiently to read that Bristol has been eliminated. Sadly, I'm still waiting....However, I LOVE Lacy! I'm glad they made it through to the final 3!!!

PS. Nothing personal against Bristol (she can't help who her mom is), it's just way past time for her to go...

Thanks! I've lurked the past few seasons, I rarely post, but love reading all the play by play stuff...

This year I'm rooting for Jennifer. I was 17 when Dirty Dancing came out and have always been crazy about the movie. However, I love Lacy's spunk and fire and attitude (I loved her when she competed on SYTYCD) so I'd be very happy if she and Kyle won too...

Does anyone else out there find themselves trying to recognize guest dancers from SYTYCD?

When the live version sounds way more overprocessed than the recorded one?

Bristol/Mark are your third Finalists, as we feared...

"Hissss...."
Posted by AyaK on 11-16-10 at 11:01 PM
I'll admit that there have been plenty of terrible dancers to advance on this show. But Bristol is this year's "vote for the worst" candidate.

Do her supporters really believe that voting for her is some sort of political statement? And who would want to make a political statement on a reality show filled with has-beens and never-weres, anyway?

"RE: Hissss...."
Posted by Round Robin on 11-17-10 at 02:19 AM
The Bristol voters are complete IDIOTS!!!!! And whoever on the show staff got the bright idea to put Bristol on the show should be HUNG!!!!! What a blankin' travesty!

"RE: Hissss...."
Posted by Estee on 11-17-10 at 09:27 AM
But Bristol is this year's "vote for the worst" candidate.

It's a genetic trait. (Her mother displayed it two years ago.)

And yes, they probably do believe this is a political statement -- or at least a sneak preview. The junior wins in 2010 and the senior takes it all in 2012. Especially if they can implement the same voting rules.

So how is the entire Tea Party going to become official residents of Chicago?

Wasn't sure how she would react to leaving now. I guess there is no way for her to prepare for this. Maks stepped up though.

I really hope she pulls it together and does the Kimmel show (the only time I actually watch JKS). She deserves better and I hope she can bring it.

After she finishes whatever contractual obligations she may have to DWTS, I hope she tells ABC to go to hell forevermore. This was pure crookedness and it can't be anything else. It has to be completely fixed when somebody that bad outlasts several other much better dancers. Either that or DWTS voters are the stupidest idiots in TV land.

"RE: Red Light of DOOM!!!"

Boo hiss! I feel really badly for Brandy. And what was up with Mark's snotty remark in the package about how she wants it too much?

"RE: Red Light of DOOM!!!"
Posted by Round Robin on 11-17-10 at 02:28 AM
You gotta remember that that snot-nosed little piece of crap is part of the same crowd that includes that other snot-nosed little punk Derek and his ersatz country singer sister Julianne. So while he doesn't make me want to upchuck quite like Derek sometimes does, he comes from the same street in Punkville.

I'm actually pretty happy with this. I'd like Kyle to win, and I think a lot of Brandy fans are people who dont like Derek and definitely dont like a poor dancer, so they may switch their votes to Kyle. I still wouldn't mind Jennifer winning (she was my favorite until a few weeks ago) but kyle has won me over in the last few weeks .

"Brandy's choice..."
Posted by Loree on 11-17-10 at 11:20 AM
From an interview with her after the show...

And Brandy admits she wants Massey to triumph in the contest's final next week, adding, "I'm really hoping for Kyle to win. I wish the best for Bristol and Jennifer as well, but if I could have my pick, it'll be Kyle."

"Hmph."
Posted by Colonel Zoidberg on 11-17-10 at 09:03 AM
At least they flipped me from pro-Brandy to anti-Brandy right before sending her packing. Call me an unforgiving a-hole, but if that had been some random woman who killed someone with her car, she'd be in prison today rather than on DWTS.

Also, most of the first dances were ridiculous. Jennifer looked like a stripper, Bristol went freom stripper to bat-like dominatrix, and Kyle's routine was infuriating. Maybe I was in a bad mood when I watched, but it made it hard to root for anyone.

Frankly, at this point, I hope Bristol wins just to show how absurd the voting process has become.

"RE: Hmph."
Posted by realworld10 on 11-17-10 at 09:15 AM
I've been anti-Brandy from the start. She is WAY too much diva for me and the car crash thing - ugh. Didn't she get booted from America's Got Talent for it?

Jennifer also has some diva-like tendencies (and with Derek as her partner - it is really hard to root for her).

I don't think anyone is more surprised to be here than Bristol. Yes - she is caught up in a political storm - but she is learning and I don't think she deserves the personal attacks against her.

Kyle is sweet kid who is loving it all. He is working hard and doesn't complain - I hope he wins.

How about the attacks for her lack of talent? Or should we overlook that, too?

I don't have any problem with DWTS choosing to have politicians or their offspring on the show. The whole idea of TV is to attract an audience, and if that's a good way to do it, so be it. But it does bother me when the worst person in the final six advances to the final three.

If the worst couple gets the most viewer votes next week, they should seriously find some way to fix the results. It is ruining this show to have the obvious worst dancer remaining keep getting voted in like this. I'd have Bristol's phone number mysteriously go down every time they show it, or maybe instead of that, have show staffers vote for others early and often if the worst one is getting too many votes, or whatever other means they think they can get away with. Their ratings are seriously gonna take it in the shorts in the future if Bristol wins, and unless ABC is getting a lot of money under the table for her being on there, Bristol winning is gonna hurt DWTS more than help it in the future.

"RE: Hmph."
Posted by Snidget on 11-18-10 at 08:12 AM
I suspect we will see a Marie Osmond situation.

The person who was near the bottom of the leader board by 1 or 2 points all season will suddenly get the much lower scores that people have been saying they should have been getting all along.

Much easier to fix the judges scores, I'm sure they know what the percentages are and know how low they will have to score her to keep her from winning.

There is always a point where the outrage someone stayed in overtakes the wouldn't it be funny if they stayed.

She may have a big voting base, but I doubt any of Brandy's voters will back her and are likely going to be highly motivated to vote for someone else.

Scoring predictions (they have what 4 dances?)

Jennifer will be perfect or at most one or two points from perfection.
Kyle will get mostly nines with a few 10s for at least one or two dances.
Bristol will get 8's for most dances and maybe even a 7 or two.

"RE: Hmph."
Posted by Round Robin on 11-19-10 at 03:46 AM
They did say there would be 4 dances, but I suspect that with the SWTS premiere being Monday night, there will be 2 dances apiece Monday night, then they will eliminate 3rd place early in Tuesday's finale and only the final 2 couples will be scored on 4 dances.

"RE: Hmph."
Posted by Nume on 11-18-10 at 09:40 PM
You can say it kills the ratings all you want, but the fact is they're having their best ratings and the most votes they've ever had . At the same time, I still dont think Bristol will end up winning so this will likely be a nonissue.

"RE: Hmph."
Posted by Round Robin on 11-19-10 at 03:56 AM
When it will cost them ratings is not next week but next season. Especially if Bristol wins, I think a lot of viewers will skip watching any future season in which any Bristol-type person is cast, or any politician or politician's relative, period. They might get away with it if the person dances well on opening night, but any future casting of a politician's kid with 2 left feet or any casting of any person similar to that will cost them bigtime after opening night.

"RE: Hmph."
Posted by Colonel Zoidberg on 11-19-10 at 10:41 PM
If Kyle wins, it will be an ultimately satisfying ending. No one has come as far as he has. He's the ultimate darkhorse, a great guy - and a hell of a dancer.

Smart money says Jennifer wins, though.

"RE: Hmph."
Posted by Round Robin on 11-20-10 at 01:52 AM
It ain't likely to be Jennifer. The REAL smart money, a waitress at a local restaurant, who has been dead solid accurate the last several weeks on all this DWTS bull$hit, says Bristol's gonna come in 3rd and Kyle will beat Jennifer.

"Vote for YOUR FAVORITE"
Posted by realworld10 on 11-17-10 at 09:49 AM
Isn't that what Tom and Brooke say? It isn't "Vote for the one with the highest score". It is vote for the one you want to see continue on.

I don't vote - but I do understand that this is a popularity contest - NOT just a dance contest.

"RE: Vote for YOUR FAVORITE"
Posted by AyaK on 11-17-10 at 11:53 AM
Yep, and the VFTW ("vote for the worst") website is thrilled for her success.

http://www.votefortheworst.com/

The shocked looks on the faces of everyone on the show were hysterical and totally worth it. Now that we've helped Bristol into the finale, can we get her to win? We sure will try not to refudiate Bristol's hard work - it's time for a VFTW win.

"RE: Vote for YOUR FAVORITE"
Posted by Snidget on 11-20-10 at 02:57 AM
What is funny (if you read the board in addition to the front page) is VTFW only actually officially backed her this last week as they'd mostly been ignoring the show since the early VFTW favs were voted off.

Once people made a few comments in the media that they thought VFTW was behind her surviving this far they figured might as well back her/claim victory if they were going to get the blame anyway.

"RE: Red Light of DOOM!!!"
Posted by HobbsofMI on 11-17-10 at 12:59 PM
I don't watch but after Kate made it so far last time I thought this would happen. We'll see if VFTW and the rest of her voters put her on top. I think the judges would just cry and what questions could Tom even ask if it happens. You might have dead air due to the shock.
