It's nearing that time again folks! And as per usual I've busied myself with making a new graphic for this season's State Of The Spoiling. Complete with nod to the mods and home of our spoiling/speculating elite AND hopeful elbow in the side of MB as we PROMISE to outspoil his best intentions again this season.

This thread will act as the primary source for signups and communication between SOTS-summarizers.
There's no prerequisite for doing a SOTS so if your new but want to take a stab at summarizing the weekly info and presenting it to our hungry speculators, now's your chance. Or if SOTS are old-hat to you, we're looking for your continued participation and alumnal insights.

If this were a normal season there would be 14 episodes.
So let's start with that as a base for our sign-ups and make adjustments as the season progresses. Good?
And since they are usually due on Tuesdays...

I came across the 2009 March Madness Calendar and posted it below as it will directly affect a couple of our deadlines for SOTS.
Opening Round Game: March 17, 2009
First Round: March 19-20, 2009 Pepe's date *confirmed*
Second Round: March 21-22, 2009
Third Round: March 26-27, 2009 Flowerpower's date

Final Four: April 4 & 6, 2009

Now comes the part where I usually decline to actually break down and do a SOTS...However, as evidenced from above, I'm opting to throw my hat in the arena.
So, not only will I get the ball rolling, I promise to nab a SOTS somewhere near the merge.

Great logo!

I'd like to volunteer for the March 17th SOTS for two reasons - it's my March Break week and it's also St. Patrick's Day as I'm Irish. Would this one be moved to a Wednesday considering that's the opening weekend of March Madness, though?

I could also do a later episode -- how about April 28th?

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/listings.aspx?date=03/18/09 has the Survivor listed for that week on Weds rather than Thurs, but I'm not sure how set in stone anything on the calendar is that far out.

If St. Patrick's Day is the opening day of the NCAA Tourney this year, then the 24th will also be moved as well, because the 2nd weekend is also 4 days of basketball......

We won't know what's on those days, however, until we get closer to that time........

And you are most indeed correct about the MarchMadness stuff. I'm not sure when it is but they usually have a two or three of those wednesday episodes. I wasn't sure if we normally bump up the SOTS by a day on those weeks or if they are still due on Tuesdays.

If it's on the Wednesday of that week, I'll be sure to get the SOTS up on the Monday (16th) instead.

I'll do the second week. I might be able to do one later on in the season too, if necessary, but I don't know my schedule yet.

Okay, I have you down, tentatively, for Episode 7.
Which, if the trend follows, will be on one of those MarchMadness weeks when Survivor is shown on Wednesdays.
For those March dates, it's suggested that you get your SOTS in on monday rather than tuesday. Still okay?

It appears that there won't be an episode next week on March 18th, but there will be one on March 25th.

How should we proceed with the schedule with things backed up? If FloPo wants to keep her March 25th episode, I could do the March 31st SOTS as there might not be a recap episode at all if they're skipping next week.

Let me know what you think, tribe? Back everyone up a week or flip me around?

Or. Put me down for April 21st and I'll do two weeks in a row.

D'oh! Somehow I missed out on that.

Ok... let's wait a week and then see what the schedule says for April 2nd -- Zap2it will have the TV listings up for that day by next week so we can find out if there will be a recap or not, then set the schedule for the month of April.

I thought the previews said that we were having a new episode on March 25 but Hagiz1 at Sucks reports that March 25 is a recap: "The first 15 days"

OKAY LISTEN UP: Because of NCAA basketball on CBS, our schedule will change a bit over the next 3 weeks. Here it is:

March 19 (next week): We are NOT on at all! (Bummmmer, I know.)

March 25: We are on WEDNESDAY NIGHT with a really cool "never before scenes" special. There are some great scenes that will crack you up, including Coach conducting. It's really good stuff. I know a lot of you guys hate this episode so we worked especially hard to make it rock! One of our best producers Daren sweated night and day for weeks to find stuff worthy of your time. Give it a shot if you're around.

Thursday, April 2: WE ARE BACK! I've just seen the episode. It's fantastic. You're gonna love the rest of this season.

... now that we're getting to the final four or five episodes of this season.

I read that we'll have the finale on May 17th (Sunday), meaning we'll need to move FloPo's Fri. May 8th SOTS to Tues. May 12th and will need one more SOTS writer for the finale (or someone else does the 12th and FloPo does the final SOTS on May 15th).

Hi guys, I am so glad that this thread got bumped...I am a little confused...next week when it's my turn to do it, is that the finale, or is that for a regular season boot at F5? Please advise...thanks so much...

It's as Tribe outlined it... the finale is Sunday the 17th.

Do you want the finale? I'll defer to you on this one and take the other episode.

Ah, I see the confusion. The second last episode in the schedule on Tribe's post should "Tues May 12" instead of "Fri May 12" so that got things mixed up a bit.

Okay, thanks Tribe and Pepe...I'm bummed, I really enjoy doing the last SOTS for the season, but I will be out of town for the finale and for the days leading up to it...I will be able to do the one that I am scheduled to do on May 12. Sorry, Pepe! I know that you will knock a homerun with the finale! You've been really great this season and it's really appreciated! You rock!
