"I HEART "LAST COMIC STANDING"!!!"

This is really a good show!

They went to an elementary school and worked with the schoolchildren. It was not only funny, it was fun to watch, and I'm sure the comics had a good time, too.

Then they competed for immunity, and this was done in an interesting way: by raising money being a curbside comic at Universal Studios.

Then they vote for someone to be eliminated. The person with the most votes gets to challenge one of the people who voted for him.

This time it was Sean againt Dave. Dave won, going away. Sean became a real sourpuss. I was a bit surprised.

This is a really good reality TV show, and it's funny too, because the comics are hilarious.

I agree. I really enjoyed it. Also enjoyed playing in the ptte game somewhere else on this board.

I really enjoyed tonight's episode. I was wondering how they would determine who would go head-to-head, and I like the voting method. There's strategy involved, but ultimately, you've got to deliver on stage to stay around.

I respected Sean for standing up on the smoking issue, but then he was such a butthead for the rest of the episode that I was hoping he'd go down in flames. He made such a big deal about Dave's comment in the voting booth, but I thought the behavior at the comedy club said a lot. Dave applauded for Sean, but Sean just stood there with his arms crossed the whole time Dave was on stage. Tacky.

I thought the kid part was fun, and Ralphie's partner Carlos was absolutely precious!

LAST EDITED ON 06-25-03 AT 08:19 AM (EST)

I thought that Sean was making a big deal out of what Ralphie (the fat guy) had said in the voting booth more than what Dave had said.

For whatever reason, Sean just really grew to hate the rest of the group and didn't mind letting it show.

Ralphie's the fat guy, and he was deliberately trying to bait Sean into picking him for the challenge because he felt confident he could beat him. But Sean said he was going to pick either Rich or Dave, and he decided to pick Dave based on his comment in the voting booth.

As much as I've been raving about "Last Comic Standing", everybody's disdain towards Sean was surprising, to me at least. Everybody was "rooting for Dave"? And then Ralphie and Rich not even giving a smile during Sean's performance, just dumb, and Sean didn't flash a smile only because he was worried about getting eliminated.

I do think Ralphie is funny, but his attitude last night, I just think he's disgusting. One of those gross people who's loud and obnoxious, people like him don't need to beg for attention, he just kind of attracts it.

I liked Sean, and he was one of my faves coming into the show, but hopefully Rich Vos gets out of there. I've said before he doesn't belong on this show, and he's just proving why people in the NYC comedy community think he's a jackass.

This remains a great show, and although I was a little worried when it at first seemed like the comics were going to vote each other off a la survivor, I was glad they left it to an audience vote. Although I don't know if I thought Dave was worthy of 73% vote over Sean. They were both fairly funny, but not gut-splitting so.

I liked the interaction with the kids and the forced-street performances..... this shows who is versatile and not just one-dimensional (did Vos fall on his face on the street or what?) Kinda surprised Dat didn't collect more money though....he seemed to have the largest crowd.

I was a little surprised just how rude Sean was around the house. I know it's no popularity contest and is very competitive, but unless you're sure you can run with any of them, it's probably not your best strategy to make yourself a walking target. I think Ralphie and Rich are targets, though, but I don't think anyone there (except maybe Dat) could beat either of them. I think those three will probably last the longest. No Tess, you're not funnier than Ralphie. I think he was the only one the audience gave a standing ovation to during the second elimination.

A couple of points: Tess had SO MUCH MORE money than anyone else that it had me wondering if there wasn't a little "ballot box stuffing" by the producers at the Studios. Ralphie and Dat were both shown with audiences, and Dat had some quite large ones. Yet, Dat only came up with a little over $20?!!!?!?!

Second, I'm not sure when this was filmed, but when Sean ventured into political Dubya jokes (and I'm not complaining, Dubya is fair game) the audience seemed to hesitate on him (Sean). The material was okay, but with the present political and wartime situation, I got the distinct impression that the audience didn't quite know what to do with those jokes. Sean did MUCH better when he moved away from that arena.

Doesn't surprise me. Just because people watch and were entertained doesn't mean they're going to put money into the till. Ralphie and Tess were both schmoozing their audiences, while Dat was too busy performing to hit people up for money. I think Tess succeeded because she was picking out people individually to work, instead of trying to entertain a large group and hope some of them would drop money.

I started watching this show after reading the great reviews posted on this site, and I must agree that this show rocks. Next to Amazing Race this is the best reality show on the tube right now. I did not follow right away how the comedy challenge was going to work, but it was an interesting take on the reality tv elimination genre. I think that the winner of last nights show down, Dave, should get immunity for next week otherwise you could have the same person being challenged each week, and that would not make for great tv. As others have posted Sean sure came off as a first class jerk, and I was initially supportive of him, and in particular the way he stuck up for the right to live in a smoke free house.

I also really like this show. I wish I had decided to watch the first episode after seeing the second and third.

I have another question/comment regarding Sean's act. Did anyone else experience deja vu listening to his routine? My husband and I both agreed that some of his jokes sounded familiar. We know we've heard the joke about Dubya bringing Texas' education ranking up to 47th (or whichever rank it was) before, but the joke referred to Clinton and Arkansas that time. Also, I swear I've heard the same or a similar joke about the first person to decide that eggs and milk were edible. There is another very similar joke I've heard before about the first person to determine that licking a certain frog will get you high. I wasn't that crazy about Sean before his routine and I liked Dave a lot since last week's episode, but I was really rooting for Sean to lose after his, at best, "recycled" jokes.

I will go out on a limb and say that I think that Dave Mordal is one of the funniest in the house. If the editing was to beleived, this was the first time a lot of them got to see his act and they thought he was hilarious.

Just think how much fun Dave Pepitone would have been with the kids and on the street
