"Ep 2 Preview (With Pics)"

Posted by sleeeve on 09-26-01 at 03:04 AM
Okay... here's the preview for episode two:

I did not vidcap any of the dance scenes, because we have all of them elsewhere.

Preview Transcript
Announcer: Coming up, on the Love Cruise...
Anthony: If Laura sees this when you get back home, I'd like to do to you what I'm about ready to do to this camera.
Adrian:...and then I have someone tell me that I'm a male chauvanist pig???
Toni: I'm never gonna date. I'm never gonna do anything!
Jeanette: Wait wait wait wait.
Jeanette: ...because I deal with a deadbeat father every day for the last 14 years of my life.
Lisa: I just kissed two guys. It's just that everything that I didn't want to happen is happening.
Michael: Wanna come back to the boat?
Anthony: I'm angry because of what you said today. You've hurt people... maliciously!
Justin: Drop that puppy dog act, and tell Melissa your feelings about her.
Male Voice: The word bribery would have to come into mind.
Toni: You wanna make me the bad guy, then go ahead.
Jeanette: You did it to you, not me. I didn't make you anything. You are the...
Toni: That's fine. You wanna make me??? You wanna make me?!?!?
Female Voice: It's getting harder, and we all need to remember... this is a game.

Wow, thanks sleeeve, more comments in the morning... but:

1) Looks like we finally see Jeanette in Ep 2 (and maybe Melissa)
2) Vidcap #19 -- gee, is that Toni?
3) There's Michael... ever the serious lawyer, making calls on his cell phone (what the hell year is that phone from, 1990? or is that some satellite thing?) while all the other kids are playing and having their fun. Probably getting a cease and desist order...

Okay... it's clear that Anthony and Laura aren't the power couple any more... oh well...

Michael appears to win the switch card this episode (note the apparent phone call to loser island to invite someone back)... this may be what pisses Anthony off.

Michael and Tomiko are paired up, and it's clear that they lose the mud-pit contest (#18), but I suspect that the sled-pulling is also a part of this contest... eventually, Michael must win.

From TV Guide Online:
The ship docks at Margarita Island off the coast of Venezuela, where the couples compete in a salsa-dance contest voted on by the locals. The top team wins immunity from the evening's election for Loser Island's newest residents. Justin Gunn is the cruise director.

Therefore, the switch card and immunity are separate contests... who will win immunity???

A final thought... the "blackmail" line: Sounds like Michael knows how to play the game, and is ready to bargain... it's very possible that he will hold on to it to make sure he's not voted out... but after the votes, he's probably gonna make an offer that someone can't refuse... maybe that's how Gina, the strategizer, gets back into the game.

Well... actually one more thought: preview face time would suggest exits for Lisa, Jeanette, or Toni and for Anthony, Michael, or Adrian.

EDIT: Note Melissa will be given a "BS" dare... she has to remove her top and pose for a photo... this clearly fits with the other previews we've seen of her ducking behind something to remove her top!!! Now this is must-see TV!!!

Okay... they really led us a lot further than normal with the "Episode 2" previews... I don't know how many episodes they cover, but we still haven't seen:

>Michael appears to win the switch
>card this episode (note the
>apparent phone call to loser
>island to invite someone back)...
>this may be what pisses
>Anthony off.

***It's not the switch card... it looks like he gets to be the first person to invite someone back into the game... based on the "hotel spoiler" that a honeymooner provided, we know that he has a connection with Bob, and it would make sense to bring the guy back, because he was voted off before anyone really got to know him... that's my prediction for whenever this actually emerges.***

>Michael and Tomiko are paired up,
>and it's clear that they
>lose the mud-pit contest (#18),
>but I suspect that the
>sled-pulling is also a part
>of this contest... eventually, Michael
>must win.

***Okay... Michael still hasn't paired with Tomiko, yet... next ep?***

***So apparently by "immunity" they meant the switch card.***

***we have no idea who the blackmail will pertain to, because we don't know which episode this clip was from***

***I can't wait for this... what I wouldn't give for the extra footage from the cutting room floor... where's that editor from the show??? e-mail me, kidhell... any dirt on Mike would be fun, too ***

"Top bunk"

So, as someone who missed the first episode--
Looking at the guy in Vidcap #1
Is that what Shakes meant in his Summary by getting the "top bunk"?

LOL!!!... no... there are bunk beds, but the bottom one is a full-size, comfortable, roomy bed. The top one is tiny, but can be folded up out of the way... it's clear that if they share, they will both be happier .

I wondered which loozer he might be calling back from the island. . . always expecting the misdirect from these producers. . . Initially, I assumed it was Sideshow Bob (LMAO@the name), but now I've seen two references to Gina getting back into the game. . .

My favorite picture of all is #20--how sweet is THAT, to see a tribute to our Monkeyboy? (Too bad this is not a rafters-swinging shot, but an overimbibing one. . . but hey, Apeface--you're on teevee!)

OMG! The guy in vidcap #25 has Will's Shorts! Who is it? Are these reality show lucky shorts or something? The world cries for answers.

"Episode Whatever, more like it..."

Well, having seen the episode, we are probably all wondering if they have any standard of accuracy when they show the preview of next time.

A very few of these shots were recognizable tonight, and more importantly, the clips some of us based our votes upon didn't materialize.

Totally lame and misleading on the part of whoever's editing the preview footage!
If they don't get their act together I'm not going to take future previews very seriously--other than as future events some time down the line...
Michael will wear a curious George shirt and will have a phone call one of these days, and that Bug-Eye fight--for all we know it's the most bizarre footage of the series so they're just gonna keep teasing us with it...
