It was very upsetting to BB fans in the New York area last year as every Friday, Big Brother was pre-empted for a NY Yankees game by CBS. This season, Big Brother isn't on Fridays and CBS no longer telecasts the Yanks. We're able to get all the episodes a week. It's great! I sympathize with the fans in California who lose some episodes for 49er games, etc.

A lot of people got pre-empted for sports not just out in California.

Now at least my local station on the East Coast re-broadcast it during the wee hours of the morning so people could tape it.

A lot of affiliates do this (the next media market over it was the ABC station that pre-empted prime time for the game).

A lot has to do with what contract they had to sign to get games with a team.
