"Erin and Maksim"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 08:07 PM
Last week they danced a spicy Samba that spiced Len up (because of the shirt take-off.....)

Maksim this week is gonna try a straight-up quickstep...... with a clothing reveal possibly...... but Erin is having none of it. Erin's trying to do what Len told her to do, but he's being a brat......

Dancing the Quickstep to I'm a Dancing Fool

Maks' jacket was reversed to Red to match his proper pants after ripping off the fake pants and Erin's fake skirt. (Her outfit underneath was all red as well.....)

Spoken like someone who has no idea how hard it is to take clothes off while making it look like a total coincidence.

Hee. Len got dressed at Pixar.

She showed quite a bit of improvement with that, and luckily it was fake pants over real ones because I don't think we have enough in the pillow budget otherwise.

Len got dressed at Pixar.

I'm gonna need some helium.

A whole lot of helium.

Outside of some comments that her shoulders tend to tense up at times, massive praise from the judges, save for a judge fashion fight between Len and Bruno about each other's outfits.....

Scores: 9-9-9 for a total of 27. Strong start.

They worked hard for that one. Very nicely done.

"Chad and Cheryl"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 08:11 PM
Chad's shooting for perfection, but he's having technique problems........

Cue Cheryl bringing in Tony to try to teach him using football terms...........

I was bored, lost interest right away. Cheryl was the only thing keeping me from dashing off to the kitchen.

I'm with you. Can somebody please explain how the scores were so high—especially from Len? Sure, Cheryl was great, but Al Gore has more movement than Chad.

Can we put Mak's shirt on him?

More elegant than I want to give him credit for.

If he sends me the same jewelry he buys for Cheryl I'll vote for him, I can be bribed.

Today's Cheryl's birthday, and Chad has given her yet another present: this time a diamond necklace that she had down her back during the dance.....

Scores: 8-9-8 for a total of 25

Chad had a beautifully sincere smile there. I wonder how much time he spent in learning how to fake it.

Drink of the night

Rum and Coke

snack of the night

vince, hope mom did OK today.

Put a few salty codfish cakes in for good measure

Slightly worse for the bad eye, but not enough to recommend new glasses *phew*

*pokes at the Jamaican patties*

So, what's in these?

Why? The music will do a much better job of killing you.

"Brooke's neckwear."
Posted by Estee on 05-03-10 at 08:20 PM
Very interesting. I didn't even know she'd been in Slytherin.

"RE: Brooke's neckwear."
Posted by Snidget on 05-03-10 at 08:23 PM
And what house do you think she'd have been in?

"RE: Brooke's neckwear."

We never did get a look at the American school.

Stoopid encyclopedia waiting time.

"Nicole and Derek"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 08:26 PM
Derek's gonna try to play it straight this week.

Nicole is dedicating this performance to her Aunt who has Down's Syndrome, and they're dancing to her favorite song........

Dancing the Waltz to You Light Up My Life

"Medic!"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 08:27 PM
*man down!*

That song version svcked!

"RE: Medic!"
Posted by Estee on 05-03-10 at 08:30 PM
...you mean it's possible to have that song performed in a tolerable version?

"RE: Medic!"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 08:31 PM
Lemme put it to you this way: I could do that song better than that.

"RE: Medic!"
Posted by Snidget on 05-03-10 at 08:31 PM
There is no version of that song that doesn't svck.

As someone who will listen to anything a ridiculous number of times that was the first song I figured out why people ran screaming from the room when it came on, because I was running with them.

I like the story of why she likes it, but I had a hard time even paying attention to her dancing because of the twitching. Even with the original I'd be twitching just as much.

"RE: Nicole and Derek"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 08:30 PM
Carrie Ann complemented and then whomped her.

Len wanted to see her in his trailer about the little things that she did wrong.

Bruno basically recapped.

"RE: Nicole and Derek"
Posted by whimsey on 05-03-10 at 08:32 PM
That was a proper waltz, in my book. Quite lovely.

"Answer the DWTS phone."
Posted by Estee on 05-03-10 at 08:32 PM
*ring*er

*ring*er

*ring*er

I have a hard time respecting her performances, and I think I'd have just as difficult a road if she was paired away from Derek. This is the opposite of Cast To Lose, and how good a game did you play when someone tried to hand the thing over on the overused platter, Erika?

...sorry. It's been a long season.

"RE: Nicole and Derek"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 08:35 PM
Scores: 9-9-9 for a total of 27 and tied for the lead.

"Pamela and Damian"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 08:38 PM
This week Damian tried to concentrate on her lower body technique and footwork. They also took a road trip.

Dancing the Waltz to What Would It Take, I think

Her feet left the floor on that Giant Swing, I don't care what Carrie Ann says.

"RE: Pamela and Damian"
Posted by Snidget on 05-03-10 at 08:39 PM
That was very nice. They do the chemistry thing very well.

"RE: Pamela and Damian"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 08:41 PM
Scores: 8-8-8 for a total of 24, currently in dead last.

Tomorrow night will have 2 songs from Train, and Macy's Stars of Dance from the Vegas Cirque de Soleil show Viva Elvis

"RE: Pamela and Damian"
Posted by whimsey on 05-03-10 at 08:52 PM
Pam/Damian deserved better scores than Chad.

"That explains everything!"

LAST EDITED ON 05-03-10 AT 08:43 PM (EST)

Pamela washed out Len's cage!

And finally she escapes The Curse Of The 7s. (It was getting to the point where I was expecting a triple-judge chorus of 'Perfect!' followed by a 21.) I just don't know if it's enough to keep her in. Her voting pool seems shakier than anyone's, and unless people stay panicked...

"RE: That explains everything!"
Posted by Snidget on 05-03-10 at 08:45 PM
I hope she's on the winning team for the Cha Cha thingy.

"Niecy and Louis"

The Honeymoon is Over! Louis was busted texting Kelly Osbourne during a practice session........

Good job Niecy!

And now a brief pause while America says 'She's proud of who she is and accepts herself? Get rid of her!'

I may start calling this Siobhan Disease.

Scores: 9-8-8 for a total of 25

"RE: Niecy and Louis"

Niecy really shined in this one. Good for her.

"Break a leg, Evan."
Posted by Estee on 05-03-10 at 08:57 PM
Right, left, doesn't matter. Just break one.

"Evan and Anna"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 08:59 PM
After a headfirst fall, he fell to 5th place on the judges leaderboard.

Evan apologizes for their crash and burn, and he asked her to push him further.....

If they're touring all week, how are they gonna get their part for the Team Dance? *shrug*

Dancing the Argengine Tango to I Bust the Windows Out Your Car?

"RE: Evan and Anna"
Posted by Snidget on 05-03-10 at 09:01 PM
Good on wood and Len's dusting off a paddle.

Yikes!

"RE: Evan and Anna"
Posted by whimsey on 05-03-10 at 09:06 PM
Evan did rise to the occasion! Anna seemed a bit off though. Well done.

"RE: Evan and Anna"

Scores: 10!-10!-10! for a perfect 30 and the leaders going into the Cha Cha Challenge.

Posted by Estee on 05-03-10 at 09:07 PM
I think I'll score that one as WW.

(Wasn't Watching.)

First contestant to show me what the Uncanny Valley really meant. Robot too human? Not a problem. Animation totally lifelike? Bring it. Evan dancing? Which chapter was I on?

I don't want him.

I agree. Overrated.

"Team Gaga"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 09:10 PM
Pamela/Damian, Chad/Cheryl, Nicole/Derek.

30 seconds together at the beginning and the end, and each couple gets solo time in that order.......

Dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Telephone.

"RE: Team Gaga"
Posted by Snidget on 05-03-10 at 09:14 PM
Team parts were pretty good, but the solos didn't really do it for me.

"RE: Team Gaga"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 09:16 PM
The timing was off and they weren't in sync.......... but enough about the band...... *rimshot*

Seriously though, the first group part had some moments in which they weren't together, also you could see that both Pam and Chad might've been a little slow on their re-activation into the group dance from their solos............

Team score: 9-9-9 for a total of 27

That gives:

Pamela/Damian 51
Chad/Cheryl 52
Nicole/Derek 54

"RE: Team Gaga"
Posted by Estee on 05-03-10 at 09:21 PM
The main comfort from this was in learning that the band doesn't get any better after the ninety-second mark.

"RE: Team Gaga"
Posted by whimsey on 05-03-10 at 09:17 PM
Poor Pam being judged along side Nicole and Cheryl.

"A miracle of topology!"
Posted by Estee on 05-03-10 at 09:18 PM
They managed to fit Chad and Derek's egos in the same dance studio!

"Team Madonna"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 09:24 PM
Evan/Anna, Niecy/Louis, Erin/Maksim

What little time that they had together, Niecy and Erin tried to teach Evan some tips for the Cha Cha Cha, since they've already done it already......

Problem is, though, they were scattered this week: Niecy in LA, Erin in NYC, and Evan on tour........

Dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Holiday

*dies* from the musical interpretation.........

"RE: Team Madonna"
Posted by whimsey on 05-03-10 at 09:28 PM
Oh my stars ......Niecy was definitely in there, might have out done Erin in this one. She is a brave woman. Very entertaining. Feel bad for Pam.

"RE: Team Madonna"
Posted by Snidget on 05-03-10 at 09:30 PM
I think they had more fun, but not as much sex appeal.

Why the judges were dinging them for the same kind of problems the other group also had? Must have been dazzled by the sequins or something.

"East Of Cha-Cha-Cha."
Posted by Estee on 05-03-10 at 09:30 PM
Maksim's becoming addicted to the stripdown, isn't he?

"RE: Team Madonna"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 09:31 PM
Team Scores: 8-8-8 for a total of 24

That gives:

Erin/Maksim 51
Niecy/Louis 49
Evan/Anna 54

"Judge's Leaderboard"
Posted by vince3 on 05-03-10 at 09:37 PM
Nicole/Derek 54
