Things are about to pick up now, this week we're going to have them do a regular dance and then some kind of Mambo Dance Marathon, as well..... This is a Double Elimination week, and the Dance-Off has been summoned for tomorrow, also.

Eliminations kick into High Gear as we're going to have two weeks of Double Eliminations!

This week they're dancing the Waltz and the Jitterbug, and (for the first time ever) a Dance Marathon where they'll all be judged side by side!

LIVE this is DWTS!

I think Donny, possibly Mark, definitely Mya and definitely Kelly are doing the Jitterbug, if their clothing are any indications......

Jitterbug will have lifts allowed, in the context of the dance.....

Also, points will be awarded for order of finish in the Dance Marathon......

"Mya and Dmitry"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 08:07 PM
Last week's dance had plenty of technique but was NotSoMuch on the emotion..... and it cost them the top spot.....

Mya is nursing an injury to her hip, it seems..... she's been getting massages to help loosen herself up.....

Dancing the Jitterbug to "C'mon Everybody"?

"RE: Mya and Dmitry"
Posted by Loree on 10-26-09 at 08:10 PM
I agree with Len. I don't like when so many of the dancers spend so much of their dance at the judge's table. The music seemed to go on and on and they had not even left the table yet.

Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 08:10 PM
Len gives them heck for using a duster/broom for the first 20 bars of the song......

Bruno praised them, but Carrie Ann is again saying that it was a little underwhelming maybe......

Scores: 8~7~9 for a total of 24....

"Melissa and Mark"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 08:19 PM
Last week's Argentine Tango was agressive, but footwork issues and her lack of looking like a Harlot plunged her down the leaderboard.....

Mark brought in his mother Shirley in who's a Latin dance champion!

Dancing the Waltz to..... I'm not sure.....

They were flirting with a lift a couple times....

"RE: Melissa and Mark"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 08:21 PM
*whistle, splat* Technique wasn't so good, but only Len gave the performance any kind of praise............

Lowest score will be eliminated, next two lowest after that will do the Dance-Off to try to save their skins.....

Scores: 7~7~6 for a total of 20

"RE: Melissa and Mark"
Posted by Loree on 10-26-09 at 08:21 PM
That wasn't good. She seemed a little clumsy.

"Mark and Lacey"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 08:28 PM
Before the break Mark was full of energy and Lacey was tired, now before the package the roles were reversed!

Lacey's plan this time, let Mark do all the tricks and let him shine!

They went on a field trip to an actual Jitterbug club to help inspire him even further......

Dancing the Jitterbug to "This Cat's on a Hot Tin Roof"?

"RE: Mark and Lacey"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 08:32 PM
High praise from all three judges, but there was a slight timing issue at the end......

Scores: 9~9~8 for a total of 26

"RE: Mark and Lacey"
Posted by Loree on 10-26-09 at 08:34 PM
They did well and I enjoyed it.

"Aaron and Karina"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 08:39 PM
Carrie Ann loved the dance but the viewers lack of votes made them see the Red Light for the last two weeks.......

Aaron showed up in a suit with flowers to show that he was committed to the character that we was going to be in the Waltz......

Dancing the Waltz to "Three Times A Lady"

"RE: Aaron and Karina"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 08:43 PM
They loved the performance, but he did get out of step a couple of times......

Design A Dance Update: It will be performed in Two Weeks! Starting tomorrow, the voting begins on the costumes submitted from viewers......

Taylor Swift will be singing tomorrow.....

Scores: 8~9~8 for a total 25

"RE: Aaron and Karina"
Posted by Loree on 10-26-09 at 08:44 PM
I really dislike Aaron and I hope he goes home tomorrow.

"Michael and Anna D"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 08:51 PM
Michael had one of his best dances last week, and he decided to have an open segment on his radio show in Dallas to thank his fans.......

The Double Elimination is stressing him out this week......

Dancing the Waltz to "Hold On"

Lift during one of the twirls it appeared from the overhead camera........

"RE: Michael and Anna D"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 08:54 PM
What is this, Bizarro Week? Len's the only one that seems to be capable of praise tonight!

Scores: 6~8~6 for a total of 20

"RE: Michael and Anna D"
Posted by Loree on 10-26-09 at 08:58 PM
I don't know if I have ever seen anyone happier while dancing the waltz. Michael was smiling and smiling thru the entire dance.

I'm ba-ack.

Oh my, what is this, circus?

"Kelly and Louis"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:03 PM
Kelly had a scary slight foot injury that had her go to the hospital as a precautionary measure, but it's fine this week.....

Kelly's fears about her dancing drove Louis to take her to a Trapeze Artist group to try to conquer her fears..... and unlike Mika last night, she did it!

Dancing the Jitterbug to "Bread and Butter/Toast and Jam"?

"RE: Kelly and Louis"
Posted by Snidget on 10-26-09 at 09:04 PM
That was fun.

"RE: Kelly and Louis"

LAST EDITED ON 10-26-09 AT 09:06 PM (EST)

Thought it was cute, too. But not as great as it could be. I kinda wonder if she is acting til a final 4 then explode.

"RE: Kelly and Louis"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:06 PM
The performance of the dance got panned somewhat because her fears kicked in again after a couple of stumbles.....

Scores: 7~6~7 for a total of 20

"RE: Kelly and Louis"
Posted by Loree on 10-26-09 at 09:10 PM
It wasn't great but I was entertained.

"New Dance Off stipulations"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:10 PM
30 seconds, they choose the dance and song.....

Also, Judges scores only will be the determination......

The pressure's getting to the couples......

"Louis and Chelsie"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:17 PM
Their Argentine Tango was a step in the right direction, but they were still in the bottom of the leaderboard......

Chelsie wants to incorporate techniques from his snowboarding into their dance.....

Dancing the Jitterbug to "Boogie Woogie Choo-Choo Train"

"RE: Louis and Chelsie"
Posted by whimsey on 10-26-09 at 09:19 PM
Cute.

"RE: Louis and Chelsie"
Posted by Snidget on 10-26-09 at 09:19 PM
The tricks were generally pretty spiffy, but some of the dancing wasn't too good.

"RE: Louis and Chelsie"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:20 PM
Ooh, sounds like Louis dropped Chelsie a couple of times during their lifts..... that'll leave a mark on their scores......

Scores: 7~7~7 for a total of 21

"RE: Louis and Chelsie"
Posted by Snidget on 10-26-09 at 09:22 PM
I'll have to rewatch that on the DVR as I didn't see the drops during the live part.

"RE: Louis and Chelsie"
Posted by Loree on 10-26-09 at 09:24 PM
Cute but not very good.

"Joanna and Derek"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:29 PM
Derek's recovered from the flu, and Joanna was doing fine with Maksim until she stumbled and almost fell......

Joanna's having a problem with maintaining a strong frame while moving so easily...... Derek's getting frustrated, which doesn't help Joanna.......

Dancing the Waltz to "Hold Me and Tell Me"?

"RE: Joanna and Derek"
Posted by Snidget on 10-26-09 at 09:31 PM
Very pretty, but the on the floor between the legs thing wasn't quite as graceful as the rest of it.

"RE: Joanna and Derek"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:34 PM
Scores: 8~9~9 for a total 26

"RE: Joanna and Derek"
Posted by Loree on 10-26-09 at 09:35 PM
I hope they leave in the next 2 weeks during these double elims.

"Donny and Kym"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:41 PM
Last week Donny crossed over to the dark side and scored the highest score of the season......

The tricks in this routine are not doing him any favors.....

This week's Giving Back to the Community has them heading to a Community Dance Center.....

Dancing the Jitterbug to "Choo Choo Ch'boogie"?

"RE: Donny and Kym"
Posted by Snidget on 10-26-09 at 09:43 PM
That was fun, they do know how to work a room.

"RE: Donny and Kym"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:44 PM
They stumbled a little bit, out of sync slightly....... but the performance was given high praise....

Scores: 8~8~8 for a total of 24

"RE: Donny and Kym"
Posted by Loree on 10-26-09 at 09:49 PM
Donny really looked like he was getting tired near the end of that dance.

"RE: DWTS#9, Episode 12 ECST"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:47 PM
This will be under traditional Ballroom Dance Marathon rules..... if the judges aren't thrilled with their dancing...... tap on the shoulder, and they're out.

Last place 2 points, up to 1st place 10 points.....

"Dance Marathon: Mambo"
Posted by vince3 on 10-26-09 at 09:59 PM
Everyone is dancing at the same time and the judges will do the tapping themselves by revealing their names on a paddle (actually they held up a paddle then a production assistant came on the dance floor).......... Dancing the Mambo to traditional Mambo music.

1st Joanna/Derek 10 points for a total of 36
2nd Mya/Dmitry 9 points for a total of 33
3rd Aaron/Karina 8 points for a total of 33
4th Donny/Kym 7 points for a total of 31
5th Mark/Lacey 6 points for a total of 32
6th Kelly/Louis 5 points for a total of 25
7th Melissa/Mark 4 points for a total of 24
8th Louie/Chelsie 3 points for a total of 24
9th Michael/Anna D 2 points for a total of 22

Love this element. Hope they keep it over the next seasons.

"RE: Dance Marathon: Mambo"
Posted by Snidget on 10-26-09 at 10:05 PM
It was fun, although it gives the judges a way to really separate out the scores more than usual.

"RE: Dance Marathon: Mambo"

It really gives us a good idea how the judges are rating the couples this season. And who will probably go home against who in the dance off tomorrow.

"Thanks, vince"

another excellent job of hosting.

"Songs use"

For this week
link

"C'mon Everybody" a la Eddie Cochran
"Only One Road" a la Celine Dion

"Three Times a Lady" a la The Commodores
"I Wonder Why" a la Curtis Stigers
"Bread and Butter" a la The Newbeats
"Baby Like to Rock It" a la The Tractors
"Be Here to Love Me" a la Norah Jones
"Choo Choo Ch'Boogie" a la Indigo Swing

Competition Mambo
Song: "Ran Kan Kan" a la Tito Puente

"RE: Songs use"
Posted by vince3 on 10-28-09 at 05:28 PM
I wish that they'd borrow from SYTYCD the posting of at least the song title, so I don't go crazy..........

Especially since artists nowadays don't like saying the title of the song inside the actual song........*ARRGH!*

"RE: Songs use"
Posted by Snidget on 10-28-09 at 06:27 PM
Yep, that name of song in the corner is very helpful.
