... so I thought I'd get this thread started while I can.If the Canadian network presents the show starting at 8:00, I'll try to provide running updates if I can.
Help us, IceCat-wan. You're our only hope.
Just heard on KDKA-TV Pittsburgh that coverage starts at 8, with Survivor to follow at 9.
I heard the same thing on my CBS affiliate as well.
NNOOOOOO....I pushed back a massage an hour so I could watch Survivor first!GGRRRRRRR
LAST EDITED ON 04-28-05 AT 07:46 PM (EST)"Survivor, CSI and Without A Trace will all be seen on our analog channel starting at 8:00pm. The Presidential News Conference will be seen on our HD Channel (2.1 or Time Warner/Lexcom 520)Starting at 8:00pm"
ETA: This is in NC, checked the next affiliate over and they are doing a similar thing. Survivor on the regular channel and the Press Conference on one of the digital channels.
...forms to EPMB's left. This is going to create the last thing he wanted: his hottest properties going against each other for the audience share -- and that's presuming Bush is off the air by nine. Or that the political commentators get finished by ten.
Has the schedule as President 8-9 and Survivor starting at 9.
nbc.com is showing that The Apprentice will not be affected by these changes. WOW! Survivor will destroy The Apprentice in ratings...I bet!
I set my Tivo to record from 8-10:30 eastern for survivor
As for the Apprentice, I set my tivo to record it at 8 p.m. tomorrow (friday) on CNBC (it's repeated there every Friday at 8 and 11)
The news story on it reads "The president's press conference can be seen live on WFMY News 2 at 8:00pm."So I don't know if CBS over-ruled them. If they don't sent it out until 9 there isn't much they can do.
K.
We're screwed.
Yep, its the press conference here.Watching the Lost recrap I have on tape.
See ya at 9 pm
I just ran home to catch survivor and turns out that Bush is on. Any final word on the NYC area? Will they show it at 9?
I checked all the Canadian stations on satellite. They are either showing reruns of Without A Trace or Will & Grace. So we have to wait for your Prez to quit blabbing too.
It's a conspiracy...
Even Bush doesnt want to see Stephenie go home...
My brother said this just a few minutes ago."The only bush I want to see is Stephanie's"
I resent that!
rats! i live on canada's left coast (the best coast) and i was so excited to see survivor at 5! now i have to wait until 6.note to self: erase tape of bush talking.
I knew we should have voted him off the island.
It is finally here!!Starts with standard recrap
It's On....
Finally. Recap, recap. (EPMB going head-to-head on the East Coast, Survivor vs. Apprentice)
Finally! Something that we can make sense of!
The wolf speaks the truth!
LAST EDITED ON 04-28-05 AT 08:59 PM (EST)YAY!
A little recrap of last week's ep with Janu quitting.
ETA: It is taking too long to post, ya'll have a good time!
...I've made up some spare beds on the Apprentice thread, which will be unused for anything else tonight. (Censored), I'm not even watching.
Whew, enough of the nonsense.. On with the good stuff!
LAST EDITED ON 04-28-05 AT 09:03 PM (EST)Thanks to Bush's address, now I can participate on the East Coast thread! I guess this is the only nice thing about Central Time...
I miss you East Coasters.
Everyone playing off TC to Steph saying they weren't going to vote her off. Steph seems to have fallen for it.
I doubt she believes that. Tom and Gregg want her out.
The tribe is scared of Steph
I'm scared of Stephanie's eyebrows.
I've never liked her eyebrows. And tonight all the closeups showed her skin is not very good either. Very oily and pimpled.
Tom getting really woried about being such a strong player. He asks the tribe not to vote him out because of that.
Tom gives a please do not hold the fact I can beat everyone of you with one hand behind my back against me.
He better keep winning immunity to be safe.
Tom's speech is also his way of working on everyone to still vote for him if he is in the F2 and they have been voted out. Remind them that he led the tribe to wins that got them to the jury. I can see he would give a good F2 speech to the jury and remind them of this. Nobody could ever blame him of riding coat tails to the end.
The women are talking about eloiminating the men.
Night 27 at Koror, Stephenie has the first confessional. They are all talking about Janu's decision to lay down her torch. Tom comforts Steph by saying they would have voted out Janu anyway, gives her the IN for the night. Steph is aware alliances are shifting. Gregg and Ian hope it doesn't turn around to bite them that they didn't vote out Steph when they had the chance.Morning, and Steph and Katie are talking whether original alliance of 4 is still strong. Is Gregg in charge or Ian? Katie won't tell her anything. Steph decides to talk with Tom. He tells her she's being too obvious a target, she's a true survivor but she's starting to work on staying in the game, that's a problem. The original Koror are talking about staying together and Tom asking not to be voted out because he's a threat, his strength has gotten them this far. He goes for a swim and the others talk about the fact that of course he's a threat, he was the one who said it's an individual game now.
Jenn, Katie and Steph are talking about putting a women's alliance. They target Tom the first time he doesn't win immunity.
Katie, Steph and Jenn talk about a womens alliance. They think they should go after Tom as soon as he doesn't have immunity.
It appears, by the editing, that Katie and Jenn approached Steph about booting Tom, not the other way around. I figured Steph would be the one approaching people instead.Considering Katie and Jenn's alliances, I don't see why they'd suddenly embrace a female alliance.
...followed by Tom exposing himself...preceded by Ian wanting to expose himself...
Tree mail comes, its the food reward. Tom hopes there is something other than food they can buy.
Jenn wins ice cream sundae first.
It was well worth it.
Steph and Caryn spilt a cheesburger, fries and a coke for $280.
I would love to know what Caryn's strategy is. We never hear who she thinks she is aligned with.
Ian gets spagetti and meatballs for $300. Gregg put in $20 for a bite.Ian hugged Jeff, and Jeff told him smelled.
Ian then paid $40 for a beer.
LAST EDITED ON 04-28-05 AT 09:22 PM (EST)Tom buys letter from home for $220
Caryn, Jenn and Gregg all buy their letters for the same price.
Tree Mail: Reward is eating and drinking, challenge involves strategic thinking. Katie reads Tree Mail. They think it's the auction challenge, something from home.Everyone has a wallet with $500, theirs to keep or spend. Auction starts at $20 and increases in $20 increments.
First item is covered. Ian, Jenn, Caryn, Jenn, Ian, Jenn at $120. She buys an ice cream sundae, chocolate, cherries, slightly melted.
Second item, Ian, Caryn, Ian, Gregg, Ian, Katie, Steph, Caryn, Gregg & Ian, Caryn & Steph split at $260. Do you want to keep what's behind Door #1 or trade for Door #2? They trade cracker & cheese for a cheeseburger, fries and a soft drink.
Next item: Ian, Katie & Jenn, Ian, K&J, Ian, K&J, Ian, K&J, Ian $300 and Gregg gets a $20 bite. Or, he can have Box #3. He won't trade. He didn't buy live crabs. He gets spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread and Parmesan cheese. Jiffy comments that Ian stinks.
Next: 1 cold beer, Ian for $40.
Next: letters from home. Gregg, Tom, Katie, Caryn, Tom, Gregg, Tom, Gregg, Tom, Gregg, Tom for $220. He gets a drawing of his kid's hand. Jeff offers the rest for anyone at $220. Katie, Steph, Jenn buy.
LAST EDITED ON 04-28-05 AT 09:21 PM (EST)Letter from home. Tom wins it at $220.
Awww...kid traced his hand! So cute.
Everybody else can buy theres for the same price. Steph is crying. Auction is over.
Steph is crying and reading her letters. She got about twelve of them! She says "I will win this. I know it."Ian is having a bath because he doesn't like that Jiffy thinks he stinks.
Gregg is washing Ian's back. Ew.
The girls are laughing at the guys bathing each other. Ian says he is comfortable with his sexuality.
Caryn is agreeing to finish sixth.Greg is playing to finish fifth.
The ONLY smart move for Caryn and Greg is to align with Jenn and Steph to eliminate Tom, Ian and Katie.
I hope the pecking order challenge opens some eyes, or this season is over.
I think Caryn is just so happy to be asked by Tom to join anything.
The IC:Smashing tiles with coconuts. First person to have all five of their tiles broken wins IC.
Ian goes for a small coconut. Ian does a pre-pounce butt wiggle! He breaks his tile.
Katie misses. LOL
Gregg smashes his.
Jenn breaks Caryn's tile.
Caryn misses.
Tom breaks Katie's tile.
Steph breaks Caryn's tile.
I liked this challenge. By missing you can help someone else and it is your own fault.
Caryn is in the lead and has not even threw oneyet.
Ian has only one left.
The girls are not to good. Ian wins immunity.
Everyone is reading their letters from home. (Steph is getting a lot of air time tonight, wow.) Steph has 12 letters from various friends and family.Ian is going to take a bath since Jiffy told him he stinks. He and Gregg are in the lagoon. Gregg is washing Ian's back with a loofah, Jenn thinks it's funny they didn't ask a girl to wash their backs. Katie wonders if it's a secret alliance, heh.
Day 29, Tom and Caryn are walking the beach and talking. Tom knows he's a threat, no one wants to go up against him. He wants to draw Caryn into his confidence, she's willing to listen to what he has to say.
Immunity challenge. They will be on a platform, 20 feet away is a platform with 35 tiles, 5 tiles for each. They throw coconuts at the tiles to break them, earn points if break their own, give points if they break someone else's.
Ian is red, and breaks one of his tiles. Katie is brown, bounces her coconut off the board. Gregg is blue, has one. jenn is orange, breaks a white tile (Caryn). Caryn is short. Tom is green, breaks a brown tile. Steph is yellow, breaks a white.
Ian breaks his tile. Katie breaks an orange, Jenn. Gregg breaks red, Ian. Jenn breaks green, Tom. Caryn breaks a white tile. Tom breaks a green tile. Steph doesn't break a tile.
Ian breaks red, has 4 tiles. Katie breaks Jenn, Jenn has 2. Gregg breaks blue, has 2. Jenn breaks orange, has 3. Caryn breaks yellow, Steph has 1. Tom breaks green, has 3. Steph breaks none.
Ian breaks yellow, Steph 2. Katie breaks her own, has 3. Gregg breaks his, has 3. Jenn breaks non. Caryn breaks none. Tom breaks red, Ian has 5 and wins immunity.
(Steph is getting a lot of air time tonight, wow.)Doesn't look good for surviving the episode
Jiffy calls Steph "Jersey."Jersey misses her tile.
Ian is in the lead.
This is boring to watch!
Ian is in the lead after 3 rounds.
And Ian wins after Tom takes out Ian's last tile.
Stephanie went to Monmouth College, as did Ashley.Joisey rocks!
I loved this immunity challenge. And I find it all the more interesting that the 3 biggest targets/loners right now drew the last 3 positions in the order. And Ian won!The next 20 minutes may have me on the edge of my seat. I will pee myself in joy if Tom gets voted out.
Day 30 - it's pouring rain.Tom gets another confessional, about the weather and how they're all sitting quietly but dying to talk in little groups.
Steph wondering if the girls are going with the guys.
Katie is asking Caryn. She hates to do it but knew she would have to jump ship at some point. Katie says she will cry when she has to write his name down, but she has to write his name down or else he's going to win.
Caryn goes to Tom!
Tom asks why she's telling him. Tom says he's wary of why she's telling him because she's better off NOT telling him.
So Tom goes and tells Ian. They're not trusting Caryn. So Ian goes and tells Katie what he heard!
Now Katie is backpeddling, saying she didn't actually decide to do it, she was just entertaining the thought! Now the girls can't get together, she says, because Caryn sucks.
So Katie explains her fear of Tom to Ian. Ian is not ready to go there yet.
"Don't mess with the plan."
Steph has got to think she is gone.
Tom knows by playing hard he has a big target on his back.
TC:Jiffy asks Ian about paranoia, Ian says not really an issue yet.
Jiffy asks Jersey about reaction back at camp after last TC.
Caryn says intensity picked up after last TC. Won't be surprised if it's her.
Tom, did you make a decision to be the strong leader? Tom says no, it was all unintentional, the need was there for Koror to be stronger than Ulong.
Ian, do you want to give up the necklace? Ian says are you effin crazy?
Voting.
Ian - votes for a fierce competitor
Katie - not personal, being a sheepNo votes shown.
Caryn
Steph
Steph
Steph
StephSteph is voted out. She says "good luck, guys," she's smiling.
Six original Koror's left.
Jeff mentions the quitter on the jury again. LOL
Caryn and Steph have votes
Tom and Caryn in the shelter while it's raining. Katie and Caryn go out to find food and are talking about whether the women should take out the men or stick with the men and realize the men will kick their butts later on. Katie says she realized she's have to jump ship at some point. Caryn doesn't know what to do, she's looking out for Tom. She of course goes over to Tom and tells him his name is being talked about. Tom wants to know why she's telling him rather than stick with the girls, because she said she would. Caryn tells Tom Katie isn't sure yet, he goes off and updates Ian the girls are plotting against the guys. Ian says his mind is going about 4-1/2 miles a minute (hee). He talks with Katie, Katie can't believe Caryn talked to Tom. Katie tells Ian he doesn't have a chance against Tom. She doesn't want to vote him out but Tom could win every challenge from here out. Ian isn't ready to talk about voting off Tom. Ian has a dilemma, because Caryn needs to go, Steph needs to go, and now they're talking about voting off Tom.Gregg is talking about taking out Steph, too much of the Stephenie show already, he'd be really upset if she isn't voted off. Steph thinks it's in their best interests to keep her.
Tribal Council. The jury comes in. Ian says paranoia has started to seep in, but still a strong group. Steph is asked about reaction after last TC, but the tribe made her feel comfortable. Jiffy asks how jury will react as they move from tribe to jury and are bitter. Steph says it will be touch.
Caryn says intensity increased after last TC, people going off talking, she won't be that surprised if she's next. Tom didn't intend to win all the challenges when he started, it just happened, hope it isn't held against him.
Ian will not relinquish the IN. Caryn's vote isn't shown, Tom's vote isn't shown, Ian's vote isn't shown, but he says hardest competitor, Steph's vote not shown, Katie's not shown, she says 'voting with the tribe', Gregg's vote not shown.
Votes: Caryn, Steph, Steph, Steph, 12th person voted out is Stephenie. She tells them 'good luck' as she walks to Jiffy.
Is anyone else getting tired of Gregg whining about Stephanie?? I hope he goes next and has to spend some time in Loser Lodge with her.
Thy wish is granted. Next episode, that is.'Cause we know what's happening this entire season. I'm only looking forward to the finale to see a) clean-shaven Tom hotness
and b) the preview of the next Survivor. Wherever it is?
Where is it, anyway?
I heard they are considering doing the next series in the Andes. Has anyone else heard this?
Mmmm . . . will there be a cannibalism immunity challenge based on the Uruguayan rugby team?
Next time, they're looking out to sea and saying "oh, no."Steph is okay with how she did, she's very proud.
Now we see why Greg made a mistake taking Jenn and Katie on his Reward win with him. Caryn stays behind with Tom and Ian and they realize what is going on. This is what saves Caryn another week.
Gregg and Jenn's whole mission since Steph arrived has been for her to be gone. IMO, this is not personal, but rather the realization that one person can cause a lot of trouble especially with their back up agains the wall.Gregg and Jenn totally orchestrated this boot.
LAST EDITED ON 04-28-05 AT 10:47 PM (EST)Yeah, I don't think Gregg is playing a stupid game per se. He's hoping to get to the final five and then pull Katie into an alliance against Tom and Ian. Given the relationship between Jenn & Katie, as well as Katie's fears about Tom's strength - I don't see why this is so preposterous.
I have to give Tom credit - not only is he strong, but he's playing a decent strategic game so far. And he has an ace in his back pocket with Caryn, which he can pull out if things get out of hand. Caryn is the only one whose gameplay is brain dead at this point - I really don't understand willfully allowing your progress in the game to be determined at Tom's leisure.
good thing jolly ole katie didn't win any more food.
