It's nearly almost time for the merge and we haven't had a poll yet!? <gasp>

Okay then, in this thread, post your guess as to what the merged tribe name will be. Guess often as you like, be furious if you gotta be, whatever. (cues OFG, go wild on this one, hun.)

My official guess: WhineyWusses!

The first two names were based upon the locations of the first two series Borneo and Australia...

I suggest that the merged name be linked to the location of Survivor 3...

So Shaft is behind all this pimping?! LOL I'm sorry, Ice, but I'm afraid this girl is just too hopelessly white to get behind that one! Maybe Mock Burn-it will give you royalties for that one, though--it is just too precious to not use.

hahahahahahaha! I had already thought of "Whore-a-mundi," given the location of BV in LalaLand, so I guess that's my vote (in keeping with the situation.)

Don't the tribes get to pick the name themselves? Knowing these people, I'd guess they call themselves the "Crown of Creation." (courtesy of Paul Kantner -- I guess that would also be CC). A "CC" name more appropriate for the location and some of the behavior so far would be "California Catatonics" ... though nicer alternatives are available.

Does anyone know the current tribe colors? IceCat, are the colors associated with the tribes on the Web site the official colors? I think we should try to spoil the new color as well as the new name. Let's see -- red is out, because it's associated with embarassment and these DAWs don't get embarassed easily....

I don't know if they are official but I have used them consistently. I took the orange/yellow motif from Season Two Outback logo and the green/white motif from the Season One Borneo logo.

The Clown didn't exactly attend a lot of the production meetings! So these colors are as official as they can be.

After I knew that song well I was reading a sci-fi story (sorry author's name escapes me) and to my amazement found that Kantner had lifted the lyrics from the story.

"California Catatonics"--so what are you saying AK, the Canadians are the Catatonic component, so MC, GT, and Supes are soon to be toast because they don't fit one of thpse 2 demographics? (Just kidding Surv and everyone)

I think red could be appropriate due to the amount of blood-letting there has been to date and perhaps more to come.

As one of the few men of my generation who didn't fantasize about Grace Slick (I always resented the fact that the band listed just the author's last name, Slick, on "Somebody to Love" -- leading everyone to think that she wrote it, but it was really written by her ex-brother-in-law Darby), what I loved most about the Airplane was the Kantner spaciness combined with the Balin romanticism. It's a shame that there were so few Balin/Kantner tunes ("Come Up the Years", "Today", "Volunteers", "Caroline").

IceCat, the colors sound official to me. The producer of E7 will need to come up with a merger color, though.

Trying to think of a name always reminds me of an old Monty Python skit aimed at coming up with a derogatory nickname for Belgians. The runner-up was "The Phlegms." The winner was something like "Those dirty, filthy, stinking, no-good, sneaky, damn Belgian bastards." I don't know how this helps us, but it was fun to remember the skit!

oh, Ronnet, you're so specific but accurate. I grew up in the "greater LA area" so I refuse to recognize those little elitist compounds as separate. It's all Hell-A to me.

Like your name though. I believe the abreviated version would be the Ho Ho's?

Giving credit where due, I think it was OFG who proposed this. An excellent option for a CC name, especially for this group (which is merging even, although one of the BBs doesn't seem to think so ... must be some of that drug-induced paranoia ... or just fatigue).
