I did a thresd on OT about my trip to NY.. and I posted a few pics.. Since there is a seperate forum for the somber events in NY.. I thought it would be appropriate to post this here, instead of there....Funny thing is (not funny ha-ha.. funny strange..).. it's NOT a good pic at all (taken from the car on the way in to NY, on Sept 10th), but my thinking was.."I have plenty of time to get a better one.." heh...

I have only visited NYC once and I now regret that I didn't have a camera. I am glad you shared this with us Vamp.

Thanks, Vamps! I realize your picture is not "perfect", but somehow it's just right. The poignancy of the fact that it was taken just the day before may be what touched me the most or it could be the almost mystical quality the picture seems to have.
Anyway...glad you made it home safely on that terrible day.

Thanks for sharing this, Vamps. Amusingly, it reminds me of the "New World Trade Center" poster BigBastard found, a sort of foggy finger rising way up; kind of appropriate, America will not forget. Sadly, my only visit to NYC was during the Johnson Administration, we stayed with a nice Italian family with whom my parents had boarded when Dad was stationed there.

Thanks for sharing the pic with us Vampy... actually the 'dullness' of the picture lends a haunting quality to the pic which I think is a very appropriate style under the circumstances. It seems to match the occasion moreso than a crystal clear picture would and it's almost surreal knowing that this was taken on the day before it came down.
