Lady T sashays through the crowded bar to meet her newest victim, Nailbone. Webby sent her to Texas, to a bar where Nailbone knew the owner. It was free beer night, something thatmade this Irish Lass happy. Sucks to be AK and Webby, their credit card and she was ordering everything on the menu!

Lady T: You have posted here for a long time, In fact, I don’t think people realize that you go back all the way to S2. What made you post here?

Nailbone:
I used to hang out on some other sites. Then one of them got too big for their britches and selective on who could be part of the 'in' crowd.

Lady T: I wonder what site that could be giggles

Nailbone: On another board, I got crossways with the board owner on a matter of religion on another of his boards unrelated to Survivor, and another was over-run by idiots. I was lucky enough to find this place and decided to settle in.

Lady T: You really started out as a spoiler, are you looking forward to that this season?

Nailbone:
I love spoilers!! When I grow up I wanna be a detective. <grins> And I'm one that, if I know something cool is gonna happen, I'll read the last chapter in a book to find out what it is.

Lady T: laughes I do that too…

Nailbone: In a certain Tom Clancy novel, there was a big revelation at the end, and I HAD to find out what it was, so I looked ahead. It was a big surprise, but it wasn't really spoiled cuz the "how it happened" was the cool part, and I didn't read that much of it.

Lady T: What other reality shows do you like? And whom are your favorite contestants

Nailbone:
Well, I really like Big Brother, and the Amazing Race, too. I never really got into the Mole, cuz right about the time I did they stopped showing it. Who do I like and hate on BB3...hmmmm <stroking chin>....well, I used to think I liked ChiWhora, and wouldn't even call her that.

Lady T: You wouldn’t call her that? Check please!

Nailbone : But her actions lately have really turned me off of her.

LadyT: Ok, you are forgiven…continue…

Nailbone: And I don't like Danielle. She's playing too many ends against the middle, and playing the "I need the money for my family" card too much. I still like Roddy but I think he's about to run out of lives. Marcellas is a hoot, and I'm liking Lisa more now that Eric is gone and she's appearing to be pretty strong. The rest...eh. <shrugs> I do kinda feel sorry for Gerry, though. I think they've done him dirty the whole time

Lady T: What made you come over to OT? You went for so long with just a few posts, not you are all over the place, You are a DAW race extraordinare!

Nailbone: I'm not exactly sure how or even when I stumbled into OT,. I guess it was right after S4 ended and before anything else fired up good. But I immediately knew that I had found my "family". I love the people here, and we're so unlike other boards because we get along so well, and even when we disagree it's done with love and respect. And I've yet to see a flame of any kind.

LadyT: Tell us about yourself.

Nailbone:
I'm your typical white, over 40, conservative, Christian male (redneck) that all the groups like to protest against. <big s-eating grin> I've been married to my DW for 20 years this June, and have wonderful 11-year-old twins, one of each. I was excited to hear that I share that in common with Red Lady! I've lived in Texas, specifically the South Plains area, all my life. I spent two years at Texas A&M, and graduated from Texas Tech with an Ag Economics degree. I'm a computer programmer at Tech now

Excuse me....<to the waitress> dos mas Margarritas (or cervezas), por favor, y un plata de guacamole con tostadas...gracias.

Lady T: You know, living in New England all my life, I have no clue as to what you are talking about.

Nailbone:
I'm working on my Spanish for the next time we vacation in Mexico. Let's see, oh yeah...I'm a drummer, and I'd love to play in a rock band someday...although someday is getting more and more remote. And I marched in the Aggie Band for one semester until I injured my knee and couldn't march any more. But despite my degree from Tech, I'm an Aggie through and through.

I coach my son's youth football team, and my daughter's softball team, and I'm a regular "helper dad" for my son's baseball team as well. And I'm a registered leader in my son's Boy Scout troop, and an Eagle Scout myself.

Lady T: We need more Dad’s out there doing things for their kids. I for one admire that. Any other interests?

Nailbone:
I love sports of all kinds, but especially football. All kinds of football...YFL, high school, college or pro. I'll even watch an Arena game if it's on. It's true what they say about football being a religion in Texas.

Lady T: Me too, I have to say though, that I am a HUGE Raiders fan, which rumor tells me we have in common. Even though you like the Cowboys, you once said that you thought that this upcoming Super Bowl would be an All Penn Super Bowl, still think this way?

Nailbone: I think the 'Boys are gonna surprise a buncha people this year, and may even sneak into the playoffs as a wildcard team, although losing Rocket Ismail hurts. They have a fairly good schedule to allow that to happen. They play the Panthers, Jags, Texans, Seahawks and Lions this time around. My other fave football team is the Oakland Raiders. I do think the SuperBowl will be Pitt and Philly, but the Steelers may have quarterback injury issues, so I'm not putting any money on that right now.

Lady T: Yep, put that money on Kurt Warner. What else?

Nailbone: I also love hockey and I'm a big fan of both the Stars and the Avalanche. And I've had my picture take with the Cup.

I play fantasy football, baseball, hockey and even NASCAR.

I like to read and I'm a huge Tom Clancy fan. And I love all kinds of music from Aerosmith to Vivalde, with some Bob Wills and Buddy Guy mixed in.

Fave movie is Patton.

Fave TV show is M*A*S*H, especially pre-Alan Alda-influence.

Fave reality show contestant is S2's Colby. I'm one of those that admires his integrity regarding his choice to keep Tina with him, rather than call it a stupid move.

Lady T: You know what I am finding out here, you and I have a lot more in common than I had originally thought. One big difference between us is geographical. Speaking of geography, has Sami’s southerness been revoked?

Nailbone: Well, cuz she doesn't like pecan pie, we considered it. But we took a secret vote and decided that anyone with legs like that HAS to be a Southerner! And yes ma'am, I am Texan and proud of it. I don't have many exe's, but as far as I know, most of 'em still live here somewhere.

Lady T: Pffttt, I could make the obvious statement about MY legs but will pass that one. Anyway, who are your favorite posters? Besides Bebo, who we KNOW you are having a thing with.

Nailbone: No way, man!! I'm not having a thing with Bebo, she's EVIL...although the thought has crossed my mind...did I say that out loud?!?! I am, however, having a little something with Sami...and another who's identity will remain secret for now.

Lady T: Yes please, don’t blow our secret. *grins*

Nailbone: As for favorite posters, we don't have time to name them all...Bebo, Sami, Sheila, Katem, Meemo, Packman, Dawg, misto, RL, snooch, pretty much anyone who posts in OT at all. I certainly don't have any non-favorites!

Lady T: Whats the scoop behind the Sports Newsletters you and Bebo both publish?

Nailbone:
Bebo started her's to begin the smack war, and then challenged me that if I didn't like what she said, I should just do my own. And since I knew that I could report the OT sports news in a more Unbiased © fashion than she can, and since competition is good for the economy, I created my newsletter.

Lady T: Now, if you could have an affair with any Reality TV show contestant with the guarentee that you would not be found out, who would it be?

Nailbone:
Well, I'm happily married, and having affairs already with Sami and the other unnamed lady, so I really wouldn't have time for anyone else. That said, there are some true hotties out there to choose from, but ever since I saw Amber's STUFF Magazine shoot, she's at the top of my list of the reality babes. And unlike a lot of others, I thought BB2's Nicole was very nice to look at. S3's Kim Powers is another fave. And of course, Gina and Tammy from S4. Definitely slim pickin's in S5, although I'll reserve judgment until I see more than just their SeeBS photos. Tara from AR2 was OK, and Paige is just another good-lookin' Texas gal.

Lady T: And with that last bit of Texas, I am going to call it a night. I am going to go to go buy a steak on Webby’s credit card with out all this Mexican fare. No offense, but I am as northern as Nailbone is southern! I just want to say that I thououghly enjoyed this interiew and the chance to get to know Nailbone better.

And stay tuned for next time when we have a VERY SPECIAL GUEST!

That had me cracking up. I didn't know I still had some spanish in my system. Gotta love the manditory Spanish classes in Texas schools.

*waves back at Crim* Hi, doll!

Actually, we don't have mandatory Spanish classes here in Lubbock, but I wish we did. I'm learning it on my own, with a CDRom program.

You are a turtle? lol hmm. how about, Usted es una tortuga?
Hehe. If I remember correctly, Estoy means " I am". lol I was forced to take at least 2 years of it . Maybe our school district was different.
I bet the CDRom lessons are much easier than having a 70 year old Texan woman who couldn't even understand Spanish unless she had the translation in front of her. hehe Oh and be sure that the lessons you are studying will be understood in Mexico, rather than Spain. We had someone in our class whose parents were from Mexico and she spoke fluently, but had NO CLUE what the teacher was teaching us. Two different languages there.

Doh!! I'm not as far along as I thought!

We had it available, both in high school and in college. But it wasn't required. I wish I'd taken it anyway.

As for what I'm learning now, definitely Mexican Spanish rather than Castillian Spanish. And I imagine as I get farthger into it, I'll mix in some Texican as well.

Well now that I think of it, Spanish wasn't manditory. A foriegn language was manditory, and considering that Spanish was the only language we had to choose from, that made it manditory. Hated the class, but it was good fun. Our teacher was a crazy old bat. She would stop in the middle of class and vacuum for no reason.

Lubbock is a great place. The dust storms do take some getting used to, but we only have 4-5 a year. But I love the flat lands out here. It's nice to be able to see for miles, and the sunsets are gorgeous. At the end of one of the Indiana Jones movies (the third one, I think) they're riding off into a beautiful sunset. That scene was filmed about 45 miles north of Lubbock.

You mean www.cygnus-study.com? (This is not a plug for that site, which takes an extreme view.) Yeah. It's his real love, but, boy, has he ever been pilloried for it, although he does have his fans.

I like this quote about "Cygnus' Study" from another site: the discussion board is "well worth a visit if you like combative rather than intellectual discussion." Sounds like that's what you ran into.

I was living about 2500 miles away from here at the time, so no, I don't remember - I could have cared less about the Sooners then. I was rooting for a different OU back then (Ducks).

But lets be real for a moment. Sooners vs. Aggies - come on. You don't really think the Ags have a chance do you? I predict a score of 42 to 3 (and I am probably being generous giving the Aggies a field goal).

PB - trying to start a little friendly rivalry

Two years ago, in College Station, on ESPN GameDay, the final score was 35-31, with OU finally going ahead on an INT return for a TD with less that 2 (I think) minutes to go.

Last year in Norman, it was 31-10 against the #106 ranked O in the country. This year the Aggie offense is and will be better, and the D will be the #1 in the country by then. Your boys are gonna need more than two QB's to make up for Heupel in this one. Ags 31-28, and I'm the one being generous with the 28!
