"Friendships"

I don't know if anyone else has been paying attention, but George Tirebiter and Outfrontgirl barely knew each other before BlowsVivor started -- now, they seem to be inseparable, posting to each other's threads and echoing each other's sentiments. Could that be an indication that they spent a lot of time together in the merged tribe? Could they even have formed a (gasp!) cross-tribe alliance?

And IceCat --- at first, all he wanted was out. Now he's so happy, he's doing animations for everyone, and GT fawned over him in a thread. That seemed to be more than just tribal loyalty at work. Could that mean that he might have stuck around for a while post-merger as well?

Spoilers from the host should be taken with a grain of salt lest we think "Lis kick's butt" in some more challenges.

Nice point though, perhaps they had a hell of a post show wrap up party

Nothing can hide from the eye of a HAWK, except those fake spoilers

Just as a correction: Jeff Probst never said Lis kicked butt in the challenges. He said that, if you weren't paying attention, Lis would kick your butt IN THE GAME (thanks to rando calrissian of Voted Off! and owen93 for determining the real quote).

Speaking of butt-kicking, notice that dangerkitty has been bragging about offering to kick some guy's butt in the dojo. Could she be the real Alicia equivalent in BlowsVivor?

I seem to remember a similar argument being made to explain the Jerri-Alicia friendship ... which raises another possibility (though perhaps harder to reconcile with my current feelings about trends in BlowsVivor) -- GT and OFG both get booted right after merge and get to spend a lot of time together on the jury. I don't think you like that theory as much, do you, HawkEye?

"Jury make-up"

Darn, I thought GT and I had everyone fooled the way most of her posts are clearly nagging me about violating vote or spoiler protocol. She did support me on one food pick, but it seems jalepenos are loved by most everyone here, so that's of dubious value.

All kidding aside, I did not even know GT's board name when Shakes posted his casting announcement, and I did not read one of her posts until she got involved with the sig pic creation.
Perhaps we were most brought together by Shakes bowing out of his game and our feeling it had too much going for it to let it die after one episode. Now I really feel like we are friends.
For everyone who said this game was divisive, I'd like to say-- not that you were wrong, because there are many diverse experiences here--but that it's also fostered some friendships and collaboration. I would add that I've gotten to know everyone better in a good way who's been enjoying the game,
whether in the cast, bashing, or writing (or all of the above).

This might be the thread to put an idea out there that's gotten good response from the one or two who've heard it, Aya K:
what if we were to bend the Survivor rules and put all the booties on the jury except Skierdude? I omit Skier because 1)he's not around; and 2) that would make 13 and avoid a tie.

Since everyone here knows everyone else and all originally comes from the BlowsVivor tribe anyway, the psychology behind the jury make-up in Survivor doesn't really apply. The biggest reason is simply inclusiveness: I'm sure Vamps and Itz and Rhino (and whoever the next three people are_ would like to have a say, as they are all players in the best sense and none of them have left the area to go hitchhiking through China that I'm aware.

(Watch out, she's hijacking the host's thread. Potential suicide for her character or brilliant play for more face time?)

Edited to add: all this talk of merge and jury made me forget the talk of voting that included the whole board, vote in chat, possibilities similar to voting on SSC. I'm a little concerned about making the vote that real--it's not as if these characters have had input into how they played the game, so it might turn into a popularity contest.

I was thinking it terms of a vote strictly within the fiction of the game, by the characters, because who pays more attention to who does you wrong. For instance, would Vamps still vote for Superman despite his vote against her? Is there any way in hell Vamps would vote for Mon Cherie? Would Itz vote for Surv knowing what he did? Which ultimate strategy earns respect?
I'm thinking those are the kind of voting issues that could stay true to the group fiction and avoid hurting feelings. I would rather have no vote than one that makes people feel bad. It's not like there's a million dollars and Nike endorsements at stake here!

Ideas?

I like the idea of a large jury, OFG. I'll have to start looking for a bigger soundstage for post-merge TCs. As you know, I don't like the idea of a real vote --- when the legend becomes fact, print the legend.

Oh, Aya. . . how you amuse me!

The fact that I may have encountered OFG in the woods--caught her skulking around, following the scent of my mahi-mahi the other night! mmmmmm. . . with just the right amount of red wine and lime juice, some mint and cinnamon. . . and some wonderful brown and wild rice on the side. . . but I digress. . .

The fact that I may have encountered her a time or two in the woods--because of hunger or nosiness, it doesn't matter--does not mean that we are inseparable! Certainly, I find her taunts have a certain appeal in their own highbrow way--and I may even find that I like her a lot, come the merger--but for now we are sworn enemies. . . so whatever straws you're grasping at will have to remain nebulous.

Besides, didn't you know that stoners can pick each other out of a crowd faster than gay men?

And IceCat is no revelation, either--I have enjoyed his company before this game and look forward to it after. Besides--with that beautiful ponytail and saucy tail-wiggle he does--to say nothing of the fact that he's bought friends all over the place by designing winks for their sig pix--everyone on the boards is fawning over him! He's hot stuff! grrrrrroooOOOOOooowwwwl

C'mon, AK--let's see some of your GOOD stuff! you know--whatever it was that gained you your Spoiler rep? Unsubstantiated radio ads and daydreams do NOT a spoiler make!

Umm, GT,
You're taunting the host again (to say nothing of making us all feel bad to be deprived of this savory mahi-mahi).
I know you have this thing where you read the messages but not the Subject lines, so scroll back up and look at what Aya K put as his subject line when he replied to my post on the jury:
'I, the Jury.'

You may regret your taunting should you squeak by to the F2.
Perhaps some strategic ass-kissing might be more appropriate?

"No ass-kissing"

The only thing I was afraid of on Shakesvivor was that everyone would feel they had to suck up to shakes to stay in the game. Sucking up to me is even more inappropriate, because I'm only going to write two episodes: the x.5 one (which I've already started, and which does NOT have a boot) and the last one. Believe me, there won't be any "brownie points" for good behavior coming up in BlowsVivor.

AW, we know that Ayatollah, but thank you for reassuring us.
I would hope we could be a bit more respectful if we were seriously sucking up...

No, I was merely alerting George that your alter ego AyaK was flaunting his power a bit by teasing that he may be the de facto jury. At least that's how I read a line like, "I, the Jury."
(Reminds me of "I Robot" somehow. No such 3 laws in Hollywood)

I hope you're keeping an eye on AyaK. Remember we all thought Survivorerist was a good kid, and look what happened! This media whore stuff appears to corrupt absolutely.

*Note to self: OK to mock host behind back, but take moderator seriously to his face. OK to mock moderator behind his back, but suck up to host when on set. Do try to keep it straight.

Don't forget we have a day completely set aside for ass kissing. BrownNose AyaK day is May 20. The rest of the year we can abuse him as much as we want right?

Ahh, my dear Georgie ... you misunderstand the role of the producer. The producer is not here to bed all the women contestants (unless he's casting for Love Cruise, where sleeping with multiple strangers is an integral part of the game); instead, the producer is supposed to make sure the show gets completed and to build interest in the finished product.

Ahhhhhh! *gets it now*

And I'm so glad for the reassurance that I don't need to do more than by myself, cuz that "sucking up" jazz can be a real bear.

YES, $3.50--was this not clear to you? Did you miss the episode? It's the one where Chef almost marries a goddam succubus, and his dad regales everyone with the story of the Loch Ness Monster begging for a lousy tree fiddy at every opportunity. . .

I hope I've saved you some grief, if Nessie should decide to pay YOU a visit! Turn her away post haste!!
