It's time for the Semi-Finals Result Show!

Tonight the filler will be super-sized because they plan on doing two hours starting with the performance recap show......

Hmmm. The way they were talking last night, I thought there was gonna be more than just that in the first hour....... besides the backstage confessionals, I mean.......

In the main show, we'll have the Ballroom Kids do their final round dances, Julianne will be singing, and last year's champs Kristi and Mark will be dancing to an Aretha Franklin number tonight........

Oh well. Lance and Lacey have the lead with their best two dances ever, scoring a 28 and a 29, getting their first 10s of the season. (Len's the only one who hasn't given them a 10, yet)

Brooke/Derek and Warren/Kym are tied for 2nd place 8 points behind Lance/Lacey and Cody/Julianne are 3 points behind the tied teams in DFL.

It's gonna be interesting to see how this pans out.........

Drink of the night

American Honey - Wild Turkey Bourbon and Honey Liqueur bottled in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Very sweet, great in tea.

Snack of the night

Seafood Gumbo (includes Andouille sausage) with fried green tomatoes as a starter. For Snidget, I have a choice of rice or cornbread.

How much sugar did you put in the corn bread? If its just a tad I'll have that with the gumbo, if it is really sweet I'll have the rice. I like cornbread both ways, but I only like the sweet stuff with some things.

Actually it's my mom's recipe: buttermilk, bit of onion, tiny diced hot peppers .... it's her gumbo/chili cornbread.

Or great hot from the oven, with honey butter.

Well if is is a savory cornbread, I'll have that.

I love the food. Do you have room for one more person?

Always room for more.

For once, I am glad they did a recap show. Loved Brooke and Derek's Samba. Warren's shoes seem to defeat him, because he certainly has moves. I would have thought he had time to order the right shoes. I dated a guy that wore a 13EEE and he'd get shoes in 2 weeks.

Lance and Lace ... oh dear, I hate to go there but. That mambo was fabulous! And the Jitterbug was great!

Kirill and Hannah are up first.

They drew Tony as their pro mentor.

Dancing the Cha Cha Cha to "Get Ready"

That Kirill really has great form. He dances as though he really wants to do this and enjoys it. Hannah does the right steps, but I get the feeling she'd rather be doing something else.

Kirill's leg and hip action reminded me a lot of Max. He has real potential.

Mitchell and Maria are up next.

They drew Julianne as a pro mentor.

Dancing the Samba to "Mas Que Nada", according to my captions..... sounds like traditional Samba music to me.....

Very fluid, smooth, very mature. They are very good together. I like them.

"Oh Snap!"
Posted by vince3 on 11-18-08 at 08:58 PM
Len said that they were better than Julianne and Mark were when they were at that age.......

It's gonna get ugly when Julianne gets out there.......

Finally we have Craig and Samantha.

They drew Maksim as their Pro mentor...... *places pillows on floor and breaks out the mops*

Dancing the Jive to "Rockin' Robin" (screechy version, OW!)

"Aretha Franklin"

"Chain of Fools"

This has a myriad of pro dancers, I think they're the ones who did the demos last night..........

Ahhh, Dmitri ....thud.

Thanks for the pillows, vince.

No worries, hon. I know you'd catch me when I thud.

"Leona Lewis"

So that's what the name of this song is!

Uhoh, is that Maks dancing?

"RE: Leona Lewis"
Posted by vince3 on 11-18-08 at 09:16 PM
Maks and Karina did the dance for Leona......

Derek, Mark, and Lacey also are on dance floor......

Well, that snapped me back to reality, like a slap in the face.

"John Legend"

"RE: Aretha Franklin"
Posted by Snidget on 11-18-08 at 09:47 PM
She seemed to be enjoying herself more than I remember from last year. She was always really good, but it really is nice to see her having some fun.

Posted by whimsey on 11-18-08 at 09:48 PM
You could tell they both were loving it! Spectacular.

"Filler Segments"
Posted by vince3 on 11-18-08 at 09:51 PM
Earlier we had a segment on the relatives that are the emotional rocks of our stars, attending each week, or in Lance's grandfather's case, watching every week.

Then they had a segment in the boiler room where they talked good and smack about each other........

Who's Safe?: Lance and Lacey! Brooke and Derek!

"RE: Filler Segments"

True. I actually would have liked to see them perform.
