Yup - it's over. To see the results, go to their website and you can read about all of the episodes.

Boy, did Fox piss me off relative to canceling this show, after I invested several Fridays on it.

Then I guess you can imagine how the participants (AND their family members) must have been feeling about Fox's decision. To air the show in Norway and not the U.S. just seems unfair. Now the results are in before the show has completed it's airing in Norway (takes a little wind out of their sails). Maybe the show will be picked up on a cable network for later broadcast in the U.S. (not likely I guess but we can hope).

It does seem odd that Fox opted not to air the final episodes here in the states. The show also seems especially skewed in Fox's favor since they had nine gay guys competing and only 5 straight guys. Maybe that is why they decided not to air the final episodes?

I'm not sure what you mean by "skewed in Fox's favor" by having more gays than straights. I'm pretty sure the reason has nothing to do with ratings (like they claimed earlier) and more to do with the political climate (Murdoch and Bush) toward gay relationships. God forbid they should portray gays in a good light. I think the show was more of a "you can't judge a book by it's cover" theme and they (the ones responsible for its cancellation) just didn't get it.

According to Fox, Jackie and Banks are still together:

Yeah - the one reality show where you really didn't expect a love connection. It seemed it was more of a game of trying to figure out the gay guys. If the show had aired to completion their relationship would certainly have been newsworthy at this point. Best of luck to them for continued success and happiness.

To clarify, what I had meant by skewed in Fox's favor, was the fact that there were so many gay, as opposed to straight men, on the show. I had been thinking that Fox only had to shell out money if Jackie had picked a straight guy, but I forgot that they would actually have to give the money away regardless of the outcome.

I still think it might have been a bit more fair to Jackie if they could have given her say, eight straight and eight gay guys to choose from. As it stood, she was very lucky to end up with a straight guy.

On a personal sidenote: I'm glad to hear she and Banks may still be together. Maybe their is hope for love on reality shows afterall....

I am so irritated relative too this show. It has been so long since it was on that I forgot who was who. Maybe it will be rerun on cable.

I'm so glad that you can read about the remaining episodes at Fox's website! The episodes I recorded during my holiday were awfully boring. I watched them on "fast forward" - reading the subtitles. And the thought of writing resumés made me want to throw up. I can assure you, that except getting the answers as to who were gay or not, watching these episodes was at waste of time. Maybe that was the reason why Fox decided to take it off air???
