"Joe Millionaire Final 3 (or 5?) vidcap spoiler?"

I'll be posting more vidcaps from the opening scenes later this week, in the meantime here's something to chew on... actually, the below is nice, but it's not like I needed any additionally info to feel sure in my feelings that "Melissa with the smile" is going to be in this game for a while...

OK ladies, would a big green jewel like this come right after the jump from pearls and be for "Round 2" or would to be for something like "Round 3"

I count three necklaces -- maybe there was another platter as well?

This woman clearly is wearing one. And does anyone doubt that's Melissa's hair and chin?

Melissa-with-no-last-initial-but-a-smile gets a solo date dinner in Paris:

Melissa Jo also gets a solo date in a Moulin Rouge:

Mystery Girl gets a solo date with a plane ride?

Is it Zora -- who was earlier shown in the below? Looks like it.

Well TVGuide just elimiated any doubt the two Melissa's are in the Final 5:

Evan takes his five remaining bachelorettes on individual dates, including a show at the Moulin Rouge and dinner at the Eiffel Tower.

Bumping this thread to look again at Webby's vidcaps. We haven't seen these happen on the show yet, and they look like they must be Zora.

The question is, are these pics from Ep4 or beyond? How much of the next ep will center around the hot-tub, or will the final four taken on separate dates again as well? Given the sssllllooooowwww pacing of the eps so far, I'm guessing Zora's nice but silent/sullen act makes her mysterious enough for Joe to keep her around at least one more Ep.

Another option is that all four of them are on the plane going back to the chateau, but we only see Zora in these shots.

Hey, it's wouldn't be a Bachelor rip-off without some hot tub scenes...

Looks like Melissa #1, Melissa #2, Heidi, and Zora to me. If this is from when there are still 12 of them, where are the rest? Maybe this is a group date??

Thanks, Webby!

I don't think Ho #4 is Heidi-Ho, tho.

Ho #4 (with the FOX on her shoulder) has hair that is too straight to be that kinky Heidi-Ho's, and her features too "classic." Looks like either Mandy or Sarah to me, and I'm leaning toward Sarah. If you look at Sarah's FACE instead of her sagginess (tough, I know), there's a real resemblance to Ho #4.

Humm... well here's a little bit better shot and a reference one as well. Maybe it's Dana?

Both chicks in that second cap have been eliminated. (neither are Dana - the tall girl with the long nose)

It's saggy-boobed Sarah in the first cap - the smile is the same.

Also, I saw a preview at some point with "nice smile" Melissa getting a necklace and winking while wearing a lacey, ecru colored top not seen in any of these – she's definitely in for the long haul.

I knew my obsession with clothing and accessories would eventually help me spoil

If that's the thing I considered to be a kinda white wedding dress looking thing, ya, those are in the early scenes of Ep 1, I just haven't got that far yet, those vidcaps will be coming.

Does anyone have a listing of the 12 that are left right now, I don't remember them all offhand...

OK, now I can't find this scene in Ep1 -- if someone can give me an idea of where it is in the episode I'll vidcap it.

I think the necklaces are possible for episode 2. I am glad to see Melissa and Zora on the dates. I am also glad that Heidi is NOT in any of these shots.

Mandy, Heidi, Sarah, and Dana are the only ones left with blond hair (assuming Girl #4 is sitting next to Melissa Jo in the tub).

Here's another site with pix of the remaining 12 getting necklaces. Just linking these for comparison till Webby posts vidcaps of superior quality

Edited to add Dana (thanks Lisapooh, my bad)

Dana is also blonde.

It could be strawberry blonde/auburn Alison in the top left hand corner (or maybe Mandy) but I'm pretty sure that is Sarah on the bottom

I have been assuming that this is from Ep4, but now I'm wondering if it is possible there is a fifth "girl" in the shadow between Zora and SmileyMel. If there is a fifth "girl," this has to be Ep3. Probably not, but I don't have the capacity to zoom in on this pic. Anyone?

Also, I'd like to verify that the light-haired "girl" next to "Joe" is MoJo, as we've been assuming. A zoom might show us enough of her face to distinguish her from Alison. MoJo's eyebrows are more finely plucked and in more of a straight line than Alison's, whose are fuller are more curved.

If this is Ep4, and if eyebrow girl turns out not to be who we've assumed, MoJo gets the heave-ho next week.

"Mojo, not Alison"
Posted by Bebo on 01-14-03 at 12:12 PM
Alison's a redhead, and so I believe that's Mojo in the hot tub.

So I think that if this is a shot from E4, then Alison is the one who doesn't get a necklace in E3.

Thanks, Bebo,

>Alison's a redhead, and so I believe that's Mojo in the
>hot tub.

I was wondering about the lighting, though. Alison's red hair might appear more dark blond in dim jacuzzi-esque lighting. Notice how the brunettes appear darker, while Sarah's highlights really jump out at you. I was thinking that the eyebrow shape might be more reliable in this case than hair color.

>So I think that if this is a shot from E4, then Alison is the one who doesn't get a necklace in E3.

I'm inclined to think that, too ... but wanted to be sure. All the S1-5 Super Spoilers have taught me it never hurts to look again, from another angle.

"boot clues from Hot tub scene?"
Posted by waterbug on 01-25-03 at 09:01 AM
Looking again at the vidcaps for insight:

>
>
>

These pictures tell a couple of possible stories to me:

1. SmileyMel is drinking a beer instead of wine -- she stays. Joe likes beer.

2. MoJo has planted herself next to Joe (wanting mo' Joe, it seems). Meanwhile, Joe wants to draw out the two women he has seen as quiet -- Zora and Sarah. If MoJo pulls a "enough about me; what do you think about me?" again, Joe might actually be annoyed by her domination of the conversation. Then again, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and might be grateful that somebody is talking. Depending on how she plays it, MoJo might hurt herself here by being too bold in front of the others.

3. Zora looks freakin' miserable in every one of the vidcaps in the hot tub. Will Joe feel sorry for her and empathy with her because she's a fish out of water (so to speak)? Or will he get tired of having to work too hard (something he's apparently not very good at)?

4. Sarah is consistantly edited as the "honesty" queen -- she doesn't care what the guy is like as long as he's honest. Possible mercy boot, or possible set-up for our "winner"? She got the nicest kiss last ep.

Just my thoughts. Have at them, but please be nice. I'm still pretty new at this.

I count three necklaces -- maybe there was another platter as well?

If they can fit 12 pearl strands on a single platter, why introduce two platters with a different number of necklaces per platter? (There would have to be one with 3 and one with 2 for the F5.)

Looking at the spacing of the necklaces on the platter, I'd say this platter started with 3 necklaces. Looks like F3 to me. No surprise that Melissa with the smile makes it to the F3, but nice to have the vidcap evidence.

Aside: Thanks SB for providing this new playground to tie us over till Survivor Amazon!

"Emeralds, Hmmm"

LAST EDITED ON 01-08-03 AT 12:01 PM (EST)

Well Emeralds are one of the most expensive gemstones out there, so It could be for later than Ep. 2, HOWEVER, they are sure to get really big pieces later so I think it is from Ep. 2. He could have had more than three on that platter to begin with and they are showing it with less to imply it is later than Ep. 2.

Also, the pearls could be lined up against eachother and pulled off one at a time like a string. These necklaces with an emerald pendant on them must be kept in half so the emerald pendants do not slip off the chain. He would have to pick them up with both ends to avoid that snafu.

Why do I mention that, simply to point out even thought there would be less emerald pendant chains to give out, they may need more room so he doesn't drop them or the pendants.

Thoughts?

"RE: Emeralds, Hmmm"

Q:

The 3 necklaces shown are centered on the platter. If there were 4, the fourth one would have been on the left or on the right of the 3 shown. That would be a strange non-centered presentation on the platter.

So, 3 or 5 seems to be the obvious choices (hence, I guess, SB's title for this thread). Five would be rather crowded, plus they would be taking necklaces from the outside first (while possilbe, I think this is less likely).

Of course, I am solely basing this on platter presentations that would be appealing to look at.

"RE: Emeralds, Hmmm"
Posted by Q on 01-08-03 at 12:35 PM
Quite Possible.

My main point was that unlike the pearls they could not be simply laid down on the platter due to the pendant.

It does make sense that Emeralds would be for a later choice.

So as for 5 women getting them, maybe, but for the first single boot to not get an emerald, much more probable. I still have this gut feeling that 5 women will get these, but I have been wrong before, wrong today, and most likely wrong tommorrow.

As for the order he pulls them off the platter, as he has shown already in one episode, he is not the slickest of individuals. Would he pull them off in order, will he put them on and then choose the next necklace in line or random, who knows.

What do you think?

"RE: Emeralds, Hmmm"
Posted by SurvivorBlows on 01-08-03 at 12:46 PM
Keep in mind the according to the TV Guide listings, Ep2 will close with 5 women, while Ep3 will eliminate one additional woman, leaving four.

...so if it's three emeralds, that means they are from Round 4???

I agree with your points concerning the pendant and him not being the slickest of individuals (nice understatement).

I also agree with you that it makes sense for Emeralds to come later (yet possibly before diamonds). Combined with the presentation issue, I'll go with a gut feeling that they are for the final 3 , but I've also been wrong before/today/and likely tomorrow.

"Is E2's stone purple or red?"
Posted by Bebo on 01-08-03 at 01:34 PM
I seem to recall a preview scene, where it looked like someone was wearing either a purple or red stone around her neck. Could be her own jewelry, true, or it could be the necklace for this upcoming round.

Gonna try to check out the videotape when I get home tonight...if I'm not going for a Bachelorette/Mole daily double.

(And I know, I know, there's a summary to complete!)

1)That you for getting these pictures up. You are awesome!!!!!!!
2)A nice, big emerald is a pretty big jump up in value from pearls. However, maybe they aren't real...

"Gem Options?"
Posted by Pepe Le Pew on 01-08-03 at 02:58 PM
Ok so what might be the possible choices for gems and where they'd be ranked in terms of value?

Pearls -- ?? -- ?? -- emeralds -- ?? -- ?? (I'm going on the assumption that this is for the final three).

Where would diamonds rank on this list? Last because Evan/Joe said something about wanting to look for a bride, so it could be a diamond ring to the winner? What else might go before and after emeralds? Just so we'd have potential gems to watch out for in future promos.

A more fitting prize for the finalist would be a cubic zirconia ring, considering he'll be telling her he's not really a millionaire!

Well, I think I saw something purple or red, so I'll throw amethysts and rubies out as possibilities.

Right now, here's my completely unfounded speculation:

Pearls - Ruby - Sapphire - Emerald - Diamond - the ring, baby!

A more fitting prize for the finalist would be a cubic zirconia ring, considering he'll be telling her he's not really
a millionaire!

ROFLMAO! This would be completely awesome, especially after the pearl-biting incident!

Well, I think I saw something purple or red, so I'll throw amethysts and rubies out as possibilities.

I would go for rubies as Queen Victoria taught us, Amethysts are actually "mourning" jewelery. She only wore Amethysts after she was widowed. Which for the rest of the Royal Family meant they could wear the rest of the private collection during her reign.

Oh well, I don't think this actually adds anything to the debate, but I doubt they would use Amethysts.

Rubies makes sense, as does diamonds for the last. Even if Emeralds are more expensive based on the fact that "flawless" ones are very rare and very expensive. But since love and marriage is in the shows plot, diamonds make the most sense for the end.

The DH is a goldsmith, we own a jewelry store and if it were me I'd do something semi-precious with diamonds set around it to make it worth more than the pearls. Onyx, a dark tourmaline, jade, the stones do look very dark so topaz is out unless the lights are playing weird off of them. I'd say Pearls, semi-precious, lesser of the precious (ruby or sapphire, which by the way are the same stone and red is the only one known by a different name, ruby, all others are known as saphires, from pink to the more traditional blue and most colors inbetween, *just your little gem lesson for the day*) then emerald then diamond. Personally, I think they should have done earrings and bracelets along with necklaces.

"sapphires, rubies and emeralds - OH MY"
Posted by sorgee on 01-10-03 at 12:16 PM
i doubt that they are rubies.
1) a good quality ruby would not be that dark.
2) the presentation of a red hued stone probably wouldn't be on a red hued background. it wouldn't let the stone "pop."
i doubt that they are emeralds.
1) we see from the upcoming vidcaps that emeralds come later in the show. i doubt that they will duplicate gemstones.
i think that they are sapphires.
1) blue hues would appear darker.
2) blue hues would look really nice aginst that red/burgundy background.

"RE: sapphires, rubies and emeralds - OH MY"
Posted by MakeItStop on 01-10-03 at 02:19 PM
I agree, I think they are sapphires. Sapphires can range in color quite a bit. Some are almost black. I was told that the darker stones are of lesser quality because they have more occlusions (flaws). It's the flaws that make them darker. Of course, I'm just repeating what I was told and I don't really know if this is true.

even a lighter blue stone against a red/burgundy background would look purple, possibly black.
i'm now convinced that they are sapphires.

"RE: sapphires, rubies and emeralds - OH MY"
Posted by Q on 01-10-03 at 03:58 PM
Agree, sapphires they are.

And since we have them on dark backdrop, and see them from such a shallow angle, ie, not reflections, they would appear dark.

So we have (sing to 12 days of christmas)

12 Pearl Necklaces, Five Sapphire Pendants, and some emeralds somewhere in the mix...

At the JAM website they state that Joe gives sapphire pendants to 5 special women on Monday's show.
