Oh Clorky????? *drop, kick..... it's good! Victory dance!* Clorky's finally gone, VFTW has sworn revenge, but probably not on this show as they were gonna swear it off after Clorky got booted...........

I think I heard that it's now time for the Stars to learn and perform 2 dances now.........

I'm pre-empted, due to the Steeler game. Snidget's segcapping, but I'm sure she'll appreciate company and assistance.

Please keep me company on this thread tonight as I segcap. Can you make sure the drink specials and foods mix well with my migraine meds, or make me not care, but then things might look like Bruno is seg capping.

Regular dance and Team dance.

Lets see what the stars are wearing.
Len is back.
Cody is dancing with Edyta.

There will be two teams of 3 couples and they will be scored. Cha Cha and Paso Doble.

Not looking forward to this new twist. Team dances are not in keeping with the ballroom theme. Smells of desperation. I don't think anyone signed up for this.

Fox Trot. Went to a Fox Trot lesson to see what it looks like.

Do not recognize the music, but it is a classic standard jazzy type of song.

Len, bringing cranky back.
It wasn't a classic fox trot, it had a spin that brings out your personality. Not your best dance.

BOOOOOO

Bruno, in Kym's Boa. Promising beginning then technique went into a recession. Need to go back to the ease of movement you have.

Carrie. What is going on, Warren says those aren't his shoes. She says it showed. Not fun like it usually was.

I really didn't think it was that bad.

I don't know if it's his weight loss, fatigue or what but he was dragging a bit.

He's still my bear, though.

Urrrrrgh. That means the judges will love it.

Bruno, you can ride that bull...ick
Carrie Ann, you struggle with claiming your power, and I want to to say I am doing good.

Great, it's a therapy session.

Len. I thought that was up with your best dances with passion and danger.

I need some of their koolaid, it is spiked with the good stuff.

Not bad considering it is a new partnership.

Len. like a new pair of shoes, you looked comfortable together, but not doing the waltz. Plodding.

Bruno. Like watching a fledgling bird not quite able to take off. You were clumsy.

Carrie Ann. I thought it was great.

Tom says they are speed dialing Michael Flatly back in the red room.

Bruno. Barefoot in the park has never been more seductive. Refreshing take, contemporary spin.

Carrie Ann. Why is she rebelling for no reason, once in awhile a big risk pays off.

Len. I didn't get it. Didn't enhance the performance. You are flat footed, I don't know about the bench.

Is that a Boo or a strangled Moose?

Len, cut out the nonsense.

Bruno says it was a well created dance.

Why does alot of the peeps on here not tend to like Lacey? I think she's a breathe of fresh air for DWTS and a perfect foil for Lance.

Les really needs to quit acting twice as old as he is.

edited to take out that pesky siggie

"RE: Lance and Lacey"

She was pretty polarizing on SYTYCD. Seems you either really like her or you really don't.

I think they hired her just because she gives Len a huge cause of the cranky pants.

I hate to admit it ... Lance was great with Lacey's choreography. Could have done without the bench though. He doesn't need gimmicks anymore. Just Lazy Schwimmer showing off.

Not to mention the direct 'co-opt' of SYTYCD choreography. Thank you Mia Michaels.

Can she regain the top of the leader board?
Dancing the Foxtrot.
She still has problems with her foot.

"When We Kiss"? Jazzy standard I don't recognize.

I'm really doing bad at music this week.

Len. It is one thing to learn a routine and then do it in a formation. I thought you did an excellent job. Lance and Lacey's solo saved the day.

Bruno. Teetering on the brink of disaster rescued by Lance and Lacey.

Carrie Ann, the unison was brutal to watch. Lance and Lacey you were great.

Why didn't they have La Lucci go first? Loved Lance, loved the choreography, even Susan stepped up, but how much could she do??

And the women all wore the same outfit ... 19something Lazy, 20something Edyta, and 60ish La Lucci.

Just sayin.

I think they may get a few more points that Team Cha Cha.

Bruno. Invincible, mens blazing guns and the girls weapons. Way to look like a unit.

Carrie Ann. Total team work and you looked flawless in your solos.

Len. Can't go into rapture like these two. Easier to keep formation in a marching dance, fantastic job. Much Tighter. Tom asks how is romantic life was. Was stronger and better, but marching up and down is easier than a syncopated dance like the Cha Cha Cha.

I wondered what the heck that song was, too!! If it WAS what I think it was...TERRIBLY INAPPROPRIATE!! I'll try to find it later.......something trivial, but it really did bother me! Sorry.

ETA: Song is "Rocks" by Primal Scream. I looked up the lyrics. As I said before-TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE!! What the heck were they thinking?? They may have done the watered-down version, but, WOW! Incredible!! I think I may have to complain about that one.....

"RE: Leader Board"

Wow, those team dances were incredibly unfair. I think most stars tend to do better with a paso doble than a chacha, in general. And so we have Warren who got the worst individual score (which sucks, because I love Warren) ending up in 3rd place because he lucked out and got onto the "good team" and Lance, who got the second best score of the night, ending up in 4th place because he was on team Lucci (which sucks, because I love Lance). Ugh. I hated this concept and I hope they never do it again.

"Am I the only one that noticed this about Susan?"
Posted by Snidget on 11-04-08 at 11:31 AM
Thinking back to both last night's group dance and the Hip Hop Group Dance.

Maybe this explains some of the delicate tentative stepping I see in her individual dance.

Is it me or is she really bad as soon as she doesn't have a partner to lead her. I'm wondering if she has a hard time remembering steps on her own, but does OK when prompted by Tony.

I know some people who ballroom dance for fun that are like that. They look good if they have a strong lead, but they only can dance well when they have a strong lead. A few won't dance with other partners because they don't really know what they are doing, they just are really good at following the lead. Now being really good at following a lead is a good skill, especially when you aren't doing a specific choreography, so I don't say it is a bad thing.

She seemed really confused by what to do next when by herself, but seems like she knows the steps when she is with Tony. This might be why she doesn't seem sure and grounded in her stepping. She is basically letting him carry her around and she can't step out strongly or large because she really doesn't know what that step should be.

Or am I crazy.

"RE: Am I the only one that noticed this about Susan?"
Posted by Loree on 11-04-08 at 12:12 PM
I agree Susan does not dance well on her own. She always needs Tony to give her direction. It reminds me of Fabian dancing with Marlee. Fabian had to prompt Marlee because she couldn't hear the music. Susan seems to need the same help but for a different reason.
