"Contender All-Stars???"

Has anyone seen the latest update on the Contender?

I myself liked the way it was before. Looks to me like they had a hard time trying to get 16 guys from one weight class.

I don't see how it would be a problem to get enough fighters from any weight class. Personally, I would have loved to see some of the bigger guys or heavyweights get a season. A lot more knock-outs to be sure.

And if they are eliminating or limiting the story-telling element, then I will likely not watch the show. I hope that this is a Contender spin-off and not a replacement of the show. I do understand what they are going for with the international competition, but there is no problem with the current format of the show. Trying to change it so it appeals more to the true boxing fan will limit the shows overall appeal to the vast majority who do not follow boxing at all.

We have been assured in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this. I also believe that, without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel” - Ben Franklin, 1787 Constitutional Convention

I agree, I liked the old format. The stories made us actually care about the boxers.
